<p>New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first in the third One-Day International (ODI) against India at Mount Maunganui's Bay Oval on Monday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After winning the toss, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson said his team would hopefully benefit (from the pitch) in the first hour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We do know that If we play our best cricket, we can beat anybody. It's important we execute our plans as best as we can," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There was just one change in New Zealand's playing XI with Mitchell Santner coming in for Colin de Grandhomme.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Williamson added that spin had been effective through the series and that the Bay Oval pitch will help spinners.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Indian captain Virat Kohli, who look to seal the five-match series said, "This pitch will get slower and slower but under the lights, we felt the ball came on better, we won't mind bowling first."</p>

<p>India will enter the stadium with two changes in the playing XI, MS Dhoni has a sore hamstring so he has been replaced by Dinesh Karthik.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Virat Kohli bowed out of the New Zealand tour with India in an unbeatable position after they won the third one-day international by seven wickets in Mount Maunganui on Monday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With India up 3-0, world player of the year Kohli is to be rested for the remaining two matches and the following Twenty20 series.</p>

<p>Kohli's 60 off 74 deliveries and a 113-run partnership with Rohit Sharma saw India chase down their 244-run target with seven overs to spare.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It gave the tourists back-to-back series wins against Australia and New Zealand and ensured they will be a force to be reckoned with in the World Cup later this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With an unassailable lead in the five-match series, Kohli signed off his tour Down Under on a high with a first ODI series win in New Zealand in 10 years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, it is to be noted that prior to this, India played just one series here since the one in 2009.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharma top-scored with 62 while Ambati Rayudu was unbeaten on 40 and Dinesh Karthik on 38.&nbsp;</p>

<p>New Zealand, batting first, posted their highest score and longest innings in the three matches so far but they still fell short of 50 overs, their last wicket falling with six balls remaining.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ross Taylor (93) and Tom Latham (51) gave the innings credibility but proved no challenge for the visitors.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharma's first wicket partnership of 39 ended when Shikhar Dhawan edged Trent Boult to the lone slip Taylor to be gone for 28.</p>

<p>Kohli then joined Sharma and the pair swatted the attack around the ground in their century stand for the second wicket.&nbsp;</p>

<p>New Zealand, taking a leaf from the India playbook, brought two spinners into the match after the tourists' spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal took the bulk of the wickets in the first two matches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ish Sodhi proved expensive but Mitchell Santner was tight and cleverly deceived Sharma to finish with one for 45.</p>

<p>Santner sensed Sharma was ready to dance down the wicket and served up a slower ball that deceived the opener, who was stumped by Latham.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kohli, who averages a century every 5.6 innings, was due a big knock in New Zealand after posting 45 and 43 earlier in the series, but his attempt to drive Boult to the cover boundary was well caught by a leaping Henry Nicholls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Boult proved the most economical of the New Zealand bowlers with two for 40.</p>

Sharma's first wicket partnership of 39 ended when Shikhar Dhawan edged Trent Boult to the lone slip Taylor to be gone for 28. Kohli then joined Sharma and the pair swatted the attack around the ground in their century stand for the second wicket. New Zealand, taking a leaf from the India playbook, brought two spinners into the match after the tourists' spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal took the bulk of the wickets in the first two matches. Ish Sodhi proved expensive but Mitchell Santner was tight and cleverly deceived Sharma to finish with one for 45. Santner sensed Sharma was ready to dance down the wicket and served up a slower ball that deceived the opener, who was stumped by Latham. Kohli, who averages a century every 5.6 innings, was due a big knock in New Zealand after posting 45 and 43 earlier in the series, but his attempt to drive Boult to the cover boundary was well caught by a leaping Henry Nicholls. Boult proved the most economical of the New Zealand bowlers with two for 40.

From the looks of it, Katrina seems to have aced her batting and even requested co-star and friend Anushka Sharma to put in a 'small word' on her behalf to the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Indian skipper Virat Kohli added more feathers to his illustrious cap by becoming the first player in history to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year, and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards in the same year following an extraordinary 2018.</p>

<p>Apart from the three prestigious awards, Kohli was also named captain of the ICC Test and ODI teams for the year.</p>

<p>Kohli scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 in 13 Tests with five hundreds during the calendar year while in 14 ODIs he amassed 1202 runs at an astonishing average of 133.55 with six centuries. He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20Is.</p>

<p>The 30-year-old finished the year as the top-ranked batsman in Tests and ODIs. The highest scorer in both forms of the game in 2018, he was one of only two batsmen to score more than 1,000 runs in Tests and only among three to do so in ODI cricket.</p>

<p>"It has been an amazing year. I was able to play in a manner that I would not have imagined. If the intention is right and you keep working hard, the results are there in front of your own eyes. The intent has always to be helping your team at any cost, that is when these performances come by and you are pushing yourself to the limit, which you otherwise will not be able to. That is something I experienced in 2018 a lot." Kohli was quoted as saying by icc-cricket.com.</p>

<p>Back in his time, he knew a thing or two about bowling 'toe-crushers' and no wonder former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram is all praise for Jasprit Bumrah's ability to bowl the "most effective yorker" currently in world cricket.</p>

<p>Bumrah, who played a pivotal role in India's maiden Test series win on Australian soil, has been an 'x' factor in Virat Kohli's set-up.</p>

<p>"Jasprit Bumrah has the best and the most effective yorker among fast bowlers playing international cricket now," Akram told PTI during an interaction.</p>

<p>Arguably the greatest left-arm fast bowler to have ever played the game, Akram believes that Bumrah will make a difference during death overs at this year's World Cup with his 'go to ball'.</p>

<p>"Bumrah has an exceptional action, very different from other fast bowlers and yet he gets the ball to swing and also move off the deck at good pace," Akram said.</p>

<p>"But what makes Bumrah special is his ability to bowl yorkers on a regular basis. Also yorker is not just used for ODIs but for Test matches too as me and Waqar did in our times," the Sultan of Swing said.</p>

<p>A lot of it Akram believes could be attributed to tennis ball cricket, which helps aspiring bowlers perfect their yorkers.</p>

<p>"If you see, whether it's me coming from Pakistan or Bumrah coming from India, we are all products of tennis ball cricket," said Akram, who is a mentor in the upcoming 10PL tennis ball tournament in UAE.</p>

<p>"When you play gully cricket with buildings on both sides and the batsman being deprived of playing cross batted shots on both sides, they are forced to play straight then.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And then you start pitching it up and in the process learn to bowl at the base and prevent the batsman from going down the ground. You will see a lot of yorkers in 10PL," said Akram.</p>

<p>He was all praise for India, which became the first country from Asia to win a Test series in Australia.</p>

<p>"It's a huge achievement to win a Test series in Australia. I don't subscribe to the view that this is a weakened Australian side. Let's not take away any credit from Virat and his boys. The kind of consistency they have shown is indeed a big deal," said Akram.</p>

<p>Whenever a young talent is discovered in Pakistan, they start comparing him with Kohli, only to fade away like an Umar Akmal.</p>

<p>So why do potential 'Kohli's' of Pakistan fall off the radar, Akram said: "Had we known what the problem is, wouldn't we have addressed the issue?"</p>
