It also shows that nearly three-quarters of the voters believe that America's democracy was under threat.

Trump vs Harris: First preliminary exit polls

Both the White House race contenders, as per the preliminary exit poll results, are seeing a dip in their favourability, compared to 2020.

44 per cent of the voters — down from 46 per cent in 2020 — said they view Donald Trump favourably. Meanwhile, 48 per cent of the voters — down from 52 per cent that viewed the-then Democrat nominee Joe Biden favourably in 2020 — said they view Kamala Harris favourably.

Issues that matter: First preliminary exit polls

As per the poll, democracy (33 per cent) and the US economy (33 per cent) are by far the most important issues for voters. These are followed by abortion (14 per cent) and immigration (11 per cent).

While 73 per cent of the voters voiced their concern about the democracy being in jeopardy, only 25 per cent said it was secure.

Similarly, exit polls from CNN, AP and NBC show that for more than a third of voters, democracy was the top issue, followed by the economy (about 30 per cent of voters), abortion rights (about 14 per cent), and immigration (about 14 per cent). At the same time, foreign policy was a minor concern, with less than 10 per cent saying it as a top issue.

For Harris supporters, democracy was their top issue, followed by abortion rights. Trump voters ranked the economy as their highest concern, followed by immigration for 20 per cent and democracy for 10 per cent.

Harris voters said it was most important to have a leader with good judgment and someone who cares about people. Trump voters prefer someone who has the ability to lead or can bring about needed change. Good judgment and someone who cares were in single digits for Trump voters.

So let's talk about the "little Donald," who was termed the "most watched bachelor in the world" by his elder brother Eric Trump.

The tallest Trump

Barron Trump was born on March 20, 2006.

At the age of 10, Barron was already noticeably taller than most of the kids of his age. At present, according to Donald Trump, Barron's height is 6 feet 7 inches (And it's surely growing).

On The Oprah Winfrey Show, Trump said, "It’s a name I’ve always loved but I never dared to use. I gave the idea to Melania and then I was going to take it away at the very end and she said, ‘You can’t take it away! I’ve been calling him Barron while he’s been in my stomach and you just can’t take it away!’”

Educational background

After spending the early years at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in New York, Barron was transferred to Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland.

"He might be more popular than Don and Eric. So, Barron, it’s good to have you. He's had such a nice, easy life. Now, it’s a little bit changed,” Trump said, according to People.

Barron did not speak at the rally but just waved to the audience, and for that, he received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Watch: Did Kamala Harris stage a phone call at DNC Headquarters?

Abortion rights are a major issue in the 2024 United States presidential elections and former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump does not wanna talk about it.

On Tuesday (Nov 5), aka Election Day, when asked twice by reporters about how he voted on Florida's abortion ballot, Trump got testy and snapped at a reporter: “Stop talking about that”.

Florida's abortion ballot

Florida is one of ten states that have an abortion on the ballot this election.

Voters, along with voting for the next US president, will also closely watch the abortion rights amendment in Florida.

If passed, Florida's Amendment 4 would overturn the state’s stringent six-week ban and bar the state from enacting any restrictions on abortion until a foetus is viable, typically around 21 weeks.

Trump snaps at reporter

After voting in Palm Beach, Florida, the White House hopeful had a press session. There, Trump was questioned about how he voted on Florida's abortion ballot.

Initially, he dodged the question, deflecting instead to his own legacy on the issue. Trump said he did “a great job bringing it back to the states,” pointing to his role in appointing three conservative justices who tipped the US Supreme Court’s balance and paved the way for the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Mere coincidence? US to test-fire hypersonic nuclear missile on Election Day, report says

Presidential elections are underway in the United States, and authorities have arrested two men for making violent threats.

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, federal authorities have registered another potential life threat against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. A 25-year-old man, Isaac Sissel, has been charged with making threats to carry out an attack against conservative Christians if Trump wins the election.

Meanwhile, in Jackson, Michigan, Christopher Pierce, a 46-year-old man, has been arrested for allegedly making threats towards a political action committee (PAC) about the election.

“I guarantee I can find each and every one of your [expletive] organizees. And we will turn you [expletive] inside out. . . . Now you better stop or I promise you this is badly for all of you [expletive] and we won’tinvolve [sic] the law... You will shut down your entire organization or it will be shut down for you. 90% of the members of [named organization]… are trained killers. . . . It paints targets onyour [sic] backs and the backs of your families. Your call centers have been located. Don’t make these boys and girlsgo [sic] to work,” he wrote in a threatening email to the PAC.

If 'Trump wins'

Sissel, as per reports, was detained in Ann Arbour, Michigan, on November 5 following an anonymous tip submitted online to the FBI National Threat Operations Center, which included alarming statements about an alleged plan to carry out violence.

According to court records, the threat, in part, read: “I shall carry out an attack against conservative Christian, (sic) filth in the event trump wins the election.”

“I have a stolen ar15 (sic) and a target I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans.”

“Without a specific victim or ability to find the place I hid the gun, there’s not a thing the FBI can do until I complete the attack,” he wrote further.

The online threat, which included mentions of hollow-point ammunition and a chemical irritant, led authorities to track Sissel through phone records and an IP address.

Further investigation revealed he was active on multiple Reddit accounts with names such as “ShootUpTrumpRally,” “PlanningToShootTrump,” and “WillShootTrumpSoon.”

According to the court filings, these accounts were used to make specific threats against Trump and conservative Christians.

If 'Trump wins' Sissel, as per reports, was detained in Ann Arbour, Michigan, on November 5 following an anonymous tip submitted online to the FBI National Threat Operations Center, which included alarming statements about an alleged plan to carry out violence. According to court records, the threat, in part, read: “I shall carry out an attack against conservative Christian, (sic) filth in the event trump wins the election.” Also read | US Election: Coddling or self-care? Georgetown offers students milk, cookies and apolitical cocoons “I have a stolen ar15 (sic) and a target I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans.” “Without a specific victim or ability to find the place I hid the gun, there’s not a thing the FBI can do until I complete the attack,” he wrote further. The online threat, which included mentions of hollow-point ammunition and a chemical irritant, led authorities to track Sissel through phone records and an IP address. Further investigation revealed he was active on multiple Reddit accounts with names such as “ShootUpTrumpRally,” “PlanningToShootTrump,” and “WillShootTrumpSoon.” According to the court filings, these accounts were used to make specific threats against Trump and conservative Christians. Following significant victories in recent years, including the pivotal 2020 presidential election and the 2021 Senate runoff, Georgia has emerged as a battleground state with shifting political dynamics. The question remains can Kamala Harris repeat that success or will Donald Trump flip the state in his favor? Our next report getting you more details!

Advisors have reportedly urged former United States president and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to declare victory prematurely if he has sufficient lead in key swing states like Pennsylvania, The Guardian reported citing people close to him.

‘Trump got nothing to lose’

According to the report, the general consensus among the Trump team is that the former president has nothing to lose if he makes a victory announcement based on a lead of several hundred thousand votes in swing states. Trump has been advised to make a similar announcement if his internal pollsters give him the green light, even before the results of the 2024 presidential elections are officially declared.

Idaho US Presidential Election 2024: Voting, result info, and all you need to know

As the neck-to-neck battle between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris continued in the ongoing US presidential elections, its reflection was felt in the Chinese stock market when shares of companies with names sounding similar to the presidential candidates went up and down absurdly.

The stocks of a Chinese vacuum flask maker rose by 10 per cent in the Chinese market after a Des Moines Register poll indicated that Harris was leading by 3 percentage points in Iowa which has been a Republican-voting state. The reason behind the rise in the stock was the name of the company "Haersi" which has a stark resemblance with the Democratic candidate's name.

Meanwhile, the shares of an aviation technology company Wisesoft fell by 10 per cent because its Chinese name Chuanda Zhisheng distantly means ‘Trump victory’.

According to analysts, such reasons behind stocks rallying in the Chinese stock market show the structural problems within it which makes it a problem to carry out long-term value investments.

US elections dominate China's stock market

On Tuesday (Nov 5), the fluctuations in the prices of Haersi and Wisesoft continued and because of mixed polling results, the stock related to Harris saw a fall and the stock supporting Trump rose in the market. At the end of the day in the market, the stocks closed down 2.2 per cent and up 8.7 per cent, respectively.

However, the discussions around who will become the next US president continued as people spoke about how the outcome of elections will determine the future relations between the two countries.
