Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus,&nbsp;as per TVP Info, revealed that talks between Ukraine and Poland were due to start in Warsaw around 12:00 pm (1000 GMT) on Monday.

As per Solsky, Ukraine is also holding additional talks this week in Romania on Wednesday, and in Slovakia on Thursday.

In comments published on the Telegram messaging app by the Agriculture Ministry Solsky said that about 10 per cent of food goods Ukraine exports cross the Polish border. While deliveries to Hungary account for around six per cent of Ukraine's farm exports.

As Slovakia prepared to ban imports of wheat and other specified products from Ukraine temporarily, a Slovakian government spokeswoman said on Monday, impediments to Ukrainian imports appeared to be growing.

Istvan Nagy, Hungary's farm minister, says that a solution was needed beyond the national level. "Joint European action and EU measures are inevitable," he said.&nbsp;After the bloc's executive said on Sunday that unilateral action was unacceptable, a senior EU source said EU envoys were scheduled to address Poland and Hungary's bans this week.

The Iranian forces were anticipating a US counterattack after Tehran fired missiles at a military base in Iraq that was used by American forces. However, the claims of “human error” made by the Islamic Republic have been questioned by Ukraine, Canada, and various organisations as well as observers.&nbsp;

A report by the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization blamed the incident on the misalignment of a radar system and a lack of communication between the air defence operator and his commanders. However, Ukraine and Canada have rejected these claims, reported Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Ukraine said it was unhappy with the decisions of both countries, saying that "resolving various issues by unilateral drastic actions will not accelerate a positive resolution of the situation".

Due to logistical challenges, large amounts of Ukrainian grains—which are less expensive than those produced in the European Union—have ended up staying in Central European nations, lowering their prices and damaging local farmers' sales.&nbsp;This also catapulted into a&nbsp;political problem for the PiS in an election year, reported Reuters.

"Today, the government has decided on a regulation that prohibits the entry, and imports of grain into Poland, but also dozens of other types of food (from Ukraine)," Kaczynski said during the PiS party convention.

"The list of these goods will be included in the government regulation, and there are goods "from grain to honey products, very, very many things," he added.

"We are and remain unchanged friends and allies of Ukraine. We will support her and we support her. ... But it is the duty of every state, every authority, good authority in any case, to protect the interests of its citizens," Kaczynski said.

In its intelligence updates, the United Kingdom, on Friday (April 14) said that the Ukrainian troops have been pushed back from some territory in Bakhmut as Russia mounted a renewed assault with intense artillery fire over the past two days or so. However, the Ukrainian defence still holds the western districts of the town, said the British Ministry of Defence.&nbsp;

It added, “Ukrainian forces face significant resupply issues but have made orderly withdrawals from the positions they have been forced to concede.” This also comes as Russia, on Friday, had said that it would push to take the western districts of the salt mining town which before the conflict had a population of 70,000 people.&nbsp;

Soon after&nbsp;Baerbock's meeting with Qin, the Chinese side issued a statement announcing that Defence Minister&nbsp;Li Shangfu will be embarking on a trip to Russia from Sunday.&nbsp;

Germany has been supplying arms to Ukraine throughout the war while there have been allegations that China has armed Russia. However, Beijing has time and again denied the claims saying it does not want to get involved in the war.&nbsp;

“Regarding the export of military items, China adopts a prudent and responsible attitude.&nbsp; China will not provide weapons to relevant parties of the conflict, and manage and control the exports of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations,” Qin said at a news conference alongside&nbsp;Baerbock.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Notably, ever since the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, China has established a "no-limits" friendship with Russia where it has refused to denounce Moscow's aggressiveness, all the while presenting itself as impartial.

Russia is taking steps towards introducing electronic military draft papers for the first time in its history with an aim to make it harder for people to dodge being drafted into the military. On Tuesday (April 11), the lower house of Russian parliament backed the legislation.

Though Russian officials maintain that there were currently no plans to compel more men to fight in Ukraine, Putin-led government is perfecting a system it has used to boost numbers of its military personnel in Ukraine. According to Western officials, Russian armed forces have suffered tens of thousands of casualties in the Ukraine conflict till now.

The new draft regime will close numerous loopholes exploited by draft dodgers and give Russia the organisational infrastructure to carry out a much more thorough and wider mobilisation campaign if and when it decides to do so.

In a statement, the World Bank said that Russia damaged over 50% of Ukraine's power infrastructure in attacks on its neighbour over the autumn and winter months. The statement added that Ukraine's east, where fighting is fiercest, has been particularly hard hit.

The World Bank added that the funds were provided by the Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF), with a goal of up to $300 million in additional funding from partners "as the project expands its scope."

This announcement by the World Bank comes ahead of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). During the event, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked partners via video link for their support and urged further backing.

"By rebuilding what has been ruined, we defeat the goal of terror, we return the normal life," President Zelensky said.&nbsp;

On March 31, the IMF announced that it had approved a $15.6 billion support package for Ukraine, forming the fund's portion of a $115 billion overall support package.&nbsp;

A recent study by the World Bank, the United Nations (UN), the European Commission, and Ukraine said that the war-torn country would need an estimated $411 billion for recovery and reconstruction.&nbsp;

The sum is an increase on the $349 billion estimated in September last year and is likely to only grow as the war continues.
