<p>It seems like United States President, Donald Trump has mixed his updates on California and Texas mass shootings and tweeted about the wrong incident.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A gunman opened fire on a <a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/gunman-opens-fire-in-california-school-4-killed-24235">local elementary school</a> in rural Rancho Tehama near Sacramento in California killing at least four people, on Wednesday.</p>

<p>But, Trump wrote about the Texas shooting where an armed man opened fire inside a church, killing around 25 people and wounding about 20 in the deadliest shooting in history for Texas which happened on November 5.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Twitter began to look at the new limit &quot;so every person around the world could express themselves easily in a tweet,&quot; Rosen said.</p>

<p>&quot;Our goal was to make this possible while ensuring we keep the speed and brevity that makes Twitter, Twitter. Looking at all the data, we&#39;re excited to share we&rsquo;ve achieved this goal and are rolling the change out to all languages where cramming was an issue.&quot;</p>

<p>She noted that in the first few days of the test many people used the full 280 limit because it was new and novel, &quot;but soon after behavior normalized.&quot;</p>

<p>Some users have worried that longer tweets could profoundly change the nature of the one-to-many messaging platform, which is popular with journalists and politicians but has failed to win the mass appeal of rivals like Facebook.</p>

Twitter, which has been lagging behind rival social networks in user growth and struggling to reach profitability, faced a dilemma over the change in that it could alienate longtime users and transform the nature of the service. Product manager Aliza Rosen said in a blog post that the test showed most people still used 140 characters or fewer, suggesting the fast-moving nature of Twitter will not change. Twitter began to look at the new limit "so every person around the world could express themselves easily in a tweet," Rosen said. "Our goal was to make this possible while ensuring we keep the speed and brevity that makes Twitter, Twitter. Looking at all the data, we're excited to share we’ve achieved this goal and are rolling the change out to all languages where cramming was an issue." She noted that in the first few days of the test many people used the full 280 limit because it was new and novel, "but soon after behavior normalized." As a result, "the brevity of Twitter remained," she said. Some users have worried that longer tweets could profoundly change the nature of the one-to-many messaging platform, which is popular with journalists and politicians but has failed to win the mass appeal of rivals like Facebook. <p>Twitter is&nbsp;planning to make a new addition to its platform.&nbsp;The social networking site is set to launch a bookmarking feature.</p>

<p>The new addition will allow Twitter to save tweets so that a user can read it later.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Till now users of the social media platform retweeted the tweets or used the&nbsp;&quot;heart&quot; button option to save a post for future reference. However, the &quot;heart&quot; button resembled more like an option and the retweet option was not that quick.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the new feature is introduced, the users will be able to bookmark a post for future reference, instead of liking or retweeting it.</p>

The new addition to Twitter will save tweets for later reading

Twitter is planning to make a new addition to its platform. The social networking site is set to launch a bookmarking feature. The new addition will allow Twitter to save tweets so that a user can read it later. Till now users of the social media platform retweeted the tweets or used the "heart" button option to save a post for future reference. However, the "heart" button resembled more like an option and the retweet option was not that quick. After the new feature is introduced, the users will be able to bookmark a post for future reference, instead of liking or retweeting it. #Saveforlater: Twitter to soon introduce bookmarking feature

<p>As more and more services go online, people are increasingly spending extra hours hooked onto their computer screens. Since people are not strictly monitoring the time they spend on the Internet, this is resulting into addiction.</p>

<p>While some of us log onto the Internet just to surf, others spend crazy amount of time on social media websites liked Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others. People think this behavior is fine, but in reality, it&rsquo;s not. Today, internet addiction has become a severe issue.</p>

<p>It leads to mental disturbance, early depression and can have dangers of serious illness like schizophrenia. Internet addiction can also significantly hurt long-term memory and lead to suicidal tendencies.</p>

<p>To make things worse, internet addiction is hard to identify. You can&rsquo;t identify this disorder like the way you can find out other diseases or problems.</p>

<p>Different countries are treating this as a serious issue. In 2008, China declared internet addiction as a disorder and started boot camps to cure it. South Korea too considers internet addiction a public health crisis; in the US, a study is being conducted to figure the best treatment for it.</p>

<p><strong>How to cure internet addiction</strong></p>

<p>If you think you spend too much time on the internet, well it&rsquo;s time for you to relax, take a deep breath and follow these simple tips:</p>

	<li>Be connected, but not always: Disable internet on your phone for a couple of hours every day</li>

Twitter reveals Russia-backed ads ahead of US election

<p>Twitter has announced on Tuesday that it is testing a new 280-character limit in all languages expect in Japenese, Chinese and Korean.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aliza Rosen, the product manager of Twitter, said on her blog, &quot;Interestingly, this isn&#39;t a problem everywhere people Tweet. For example, when I (Aliza) Tweet in English, I quickly run into the 140 character limit and have to edit my Tweet down so it fits. Sometimes, I have to remove a word that conveys an important meaning or emotion, or I don&rsquo;t send my Tweet at all. But when Iku Tweets in Japanese, he doesn&rsquo;t have the same problem. He finishes sharing his thought and still has room to spare. This is because in languages like Japanese, Korean, and Chinese you can convey about double the amount of information in one character as you can in many other languages, like English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jack Dorsey&nbsp;wrote on Twitter&nbsp;referring to the announcement. &quot;140 was an arbitrary choice based on the 160 character SMS limit.&quot;</p>

Twitter has announced on Tuesday that it is testing a new 280-character limit in all languages expect in Japenese, Chinese and Korean. Aliza Rosen, the product manager of Twitter, said on her blog, "Interestingly, this isn't a problem everywhere people Tweet. For example, when I (Aliza) Tweet in English, I quickly run into the 140 character limit and have to edit my Tweet down so it fits. Sometimes, I have to remove a word that conveys an important meaning or emotion, or I don’t send my Tweet at all. But when Iku Tweets in Japanese, he doesn’t have the same problem. He finishes sharing his thought and still has room to spare. This is because in languages like Japanese, Korean, and Chinese you can convey about double the amount of information in one character as you can in many other languages, like English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French." Twitter reacts on increase to 280 character limit

<p>Twitter has announced a test project allowing tweets to be expanded to 280 characters, double the existing limit, in the latest effort to boost flagging growth at the social network.</p>

<p>San Francisco-based Twitter said the new limit, a major shift for the messaging platform known for its 140-character tweets, aims to address &quot;a major cause of frustration&quot; for many users.</p>

<p>Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey fired off what may be one of the first expanded tweets.</p>

<p>&quot;This is a small change, but a big move for us,&quot; he wrote. &quot;140 was an arbitrary choice... Proud of how thoughtful the team has been in solving a real problem people have when trying to tweet.&quot;</p>

<p>It remained an open question whether the new tweet limit would ignite the growth an engagement Twitter needs to compete in the fast-moving social media segment.</p>

<p>Interestingly, it was Mukherjee who launched the&nbsp;&lsquo;Selfie with Daughter&rsquo; initiative as a part of Beti Padhao Beti Bacho in 2015. This was at the time when he was the&nbsp;13th President of India. Pranab Mukherjee had a five-year-term from 2012 to 2017.&nbsp;</p>


In what can be called a first, former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee posted a selfie on Twitter on Thursday and Twitter couldn't stop talking about it. The 81-year-old posted a photo with a kid named Hamza Saifi who taught him to click selfies. The post read: "It is always a pleasure to meet children.
