<p>Forbes estimates that Musk's current net worth is $194.8 billion, with a significant portion of that coming from his approximately 15 per cent ownership in Tesla, which has a market value of $622 billion.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Musk has sold 9.5 million Tesla shares worth $4 billion, according to the US Securities and Exchange Commission filings.</p>

<p>The SEC documents revealed on Tuesday show Musk, who financed much of his Twitter purchase with Tesla stock, has sold more than 19 million shares worth in excess of $3.9 billion, reports AFP news agency.</p>

<p>Just two days after laying off almost 50 per cent of its staff, Elon Musk's Twitter Inc has now apparently reached out to dozens of the fired people asking them to return to jobs, reports Bloomberg.</p>

<p>As per the report published on Sunday, some of those being asked to come back were laid off "by mistake". Citing people in the know the report further says that others have been asked to rejoin after the management realised that in order to build new features that have been envisioned by the Tesla CEO these people are necessary.</p>

General Motors halts advertising on Twitter temporarily after Musk's takeover 

<p>As soon as the Tesla owner and billionaire Elon Musk acquired Twitter, he immediately fired the firm's CEO Parag Agarwal, and two other top executives.</p>

<p>However, as per media reports, the senior executive won't be leaving empty-handed. Agarwal will get all of his 100 per cent&nbsp;unvested equity awards, Bloomberg reported.</p>

<p>Reuters cited that the awards to be given&nbsp;imply that he will receive an estimated amount of $42 million, as per research conducted by Equilar.</p>

<p>Musk bought himself some time on Thursday, after a judge accepted the billionaire's request to halt a Twitter lawsuit to allow him to close his proposed $44 billion buyout of the social media company by Oct. 28.</p>

<p>Now comes the big question: how will he pay for it?</p>

<p>Musk said earlier this week he would buy Twitter for $54.20 per share, the price that was agreed in April, but included a condition that the closing of the deal be contingent on debt financing for the transaction coming through.</p>

<p><strong>What is his financing&nbsp;plan?</strong></p>

<p>For the acquisition, Musk has promised to contribute $46.5 billion in equity and debt funding, covering the transaction's $44 billion price tag and closing costs. A total of 13 billion dollars in debt financing will be provided by banks, including Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Corp., to fund the purchase.</p>

<p>On Thursday, Twitter cited one of the banks as alleging that Musk had not informed them of his plans to conclude the deal. Banks were "working constructively to fund the closing" on or around October 28, according to Musk.</p>

<p>Musk's $33.5 billion equity commitment would include his $9.6% ownership in Twitter, which is worth $4 billion, as well as the $7.1 billion he raised from equity investors, including Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and co-founder of Oracle Corp. Larry Ellison.</p>

<p>An activist group had reportedly leaked a video of Siru Murugesan, who works as a senior engineer at Twitter.&nbsp;Murugesan complained that the social networking site "does not believe in free speech" and added that employees are "commie as F**k and that apparently revolted against Musk's takeover bid".</p>

<p>In fact, in another video, Alex Martinez, the lead client partner of Twitter reportedly said: "Well, right now we don't make profit. So it's gonna say ideology, which is what's led us into not being profitable."</p>

<p>Martinez reportedly said: "The rest of us who have been here believe in something that's good for the planet and not just give people free speech." Musk sent a smiley while reacting to the video.</p>
