<p>Earlier this week, the residents of San Francisco, California were met with a usual sight, when a massive two-storey houseboat with a white picket fence and all was seen being towed across the bay.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This came after the residents of one of the biggest houseboats were among those who lost a years-long legal battle against Redwood City, a suburb south of San Francisco.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Rare sighting</strong></h2>

<p>While Californians turned to the sky to watch the solar eclipse, on Monday (Apr 8), they might have missed the precarious journey of the two-storey houseboat from the Redwood City marina to the city of San Rafael.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking about the two-storey houseboat, he added, “The thing’s ready to sink. That was the biggest houseboat they had in Redwood City.”&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>About the situation in Redwood City</strong></h2>

<p>The surreal sighting is the result of a years-long legal battle between the houseboat residents and the government of Redwood City, home to around 80,000 people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to local media reports, the city council had asked the residents of the houseboats in the Docktown Marina as they were blocking public access to a state waterway.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-storey houseboat was among the dozens of others who had been asked to move their homes away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The situation stems from a 2015 case when homeowners near Docktown filed a lawsuit with the city claiming the marina was illegal. The Redwood City marina was once home to more than 100 people, according to the media reports.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After nearly a decade of legal battles, the city decided that the residents in the marina had been living there illegally.&nbsp;</p>

As New Zealand declares 'whales are people,' here are some curious cases involving animals

<p>A dog named Mishka vanished in the summer of 2023 in San Diego, California and never returned to her owners. Now, eight months later, she has been discovered in Detroit, Michigan, some 2,000 miles away, leaving her owners startled and enthralled.</p>

<p>As per media reports, police last week picked her up from Harper Woods after receiving information about a stray dog. The police handed over the terrier mix to an animal welfare group, which revealed upon identifying her implanted chip that she belonged to the family of Mehrad Houman.</p>

<p>Houman and family were planning to go to Minnesota when the call about Mishka came in. He landed there and drove 10 hours to Michigan, ahead of a heartwarming reunion.</p>

During her recent interview with Brut, Kiran, who never shies away from putting forward her views, reflected on her marriage with Mr perfectionist, as she went on to discuss how marriage tends to be suffocating for a woman. Talking about her marriage with Aamir, she said, ''Aamir and I lived together for about a year before we got married, and honestly, we did it more because of our parents. At that time too, we knew that it’s a great institution if you can function as an individual as well as a couple within that institution.'' Akshay Kumar plans to buy his childhood home which his family rented for Rs 500 Speaking about how a marriage tends to be more difficult for a woman, Kiran said, ''I think the thing that we don’t talk about enough is how marriage tends to stifle, especially women. There’s so much responsibility on the woman to run the house, to keep the family together… I took my sweet time so I didn’t have any worry about it.'' 'It's very strong relationship as two humans. We are very connected to each other; we deeply respect and love each other,'' the Dhobi Ghat director said. Laapataa Ladies review: Kiran Rao's film feels like a giant warm hug Kiran, who got married to Aamir in 2005, said she 'didn't fear' a divorce and wanted to live independently. ''I was not worried. I knew that I needed my space. I wanted to live independently, and I needed that to grow myself. I felt that it was for my own growth and Aamir acknowledged that as well and supported that… So I didn’t fear a divorce,” she said. Kiran is currently basking in the success of her movie Laapataa Ladies. The movie was bankrolled by Aamir's production house. Starring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan, the movie earned Rs 20 crore (Rs 20 million) in a budget of Rs 4-5 crores (Rs 40-50 million).

<p>Media outlet BCC has responded to the backlash&nbsp;they have received over the coverage of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis. In March, Catherine, Princess of Wales shared that she has been diagnosed with cancer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video released on the official social handle of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate shared&nbsp;she has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.</p>

<p>Weeks after Kate's cancer diagnosis was made public, BBC released a statement on the complaints they received for their coverage that many felt was ''excessive and insensitive.”</p>

<p>In the statement, they said on Friday (April&nbsp;5), as per Variety, “We broadcast in full the highly personal video message from the Princess of Wales, in which she spoke directly to the public about her cancer diagnosis. &nbsp;Our coverage reflected the significance of this story and the outpouring of support for the princess from around the globe. We explained to our audience what was known about Catherine’s condition, but did not speculate on details that had not been made public.''</p>

<p>Defending their coverage, they&nbsp;further said ''Our reporting made clear that this is a difficult time for the princess and the rest of the Royal Family; we have been mindful at all times to approach our coverage with sensitivity. As part of our analysis, we examined the intense speculation there had been in the preceding weeks about the princess’s health.''</p>

Media outlet BCC has responded to the backlash they have received over the coverage of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis. In March, Catherine, Princess of Wales shared that she has been diagnosed with cancer. In the video released on the official social handle of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate shared she has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment. Weeks after Kate's cancer diagnosis was made public, BBC released a statement on the complaints they received for their coverage that many felt was ''excessive and insensitive.” In the statement, they said on Friday (April 5), as per Variety, “We broadcast in full the highly personal video message from the Princess of Wales, in which she spoke directly to the public about her cancer diagnosis. Our coverage reflected the significance of this story and the outpouring of support for the princess from around the globe. We explained to our audience what was known about Catherine’s condition, but did not speculate on details that had not been made public.'' Defending their coverage, they further said ''Our reporting made clear that this is a difficult time for the princess and the rest of the Royal Family; we have been mindful at all times to approach our coverage with sensitivity. As part of our analysis, we examined the intense speculation there had been in the preceding weeks about the princess’s health.'' <p>Pentagon's answer to such a scenario is its Guaranteeing AI Robustness Against Deception or GARD research programme.</p>

<p>"GARD seeks to establish theoretical ML system foundations to identify system vulnerabilities, characterize properties that will enhance system robustness, and encourage the creation of effective defences," states the DARPA website.</p>

<h2><strong>How will GARD&nbsp;accomplish this?</strong></h2>

<p>As per the DARPA website, GARD's novel response to adversarial AI will focus on three main objectives:&nbsp;</p>

<p>1) The development of theoretical foundations for defensible ML and a lexicon of new defence mechanisms based on them.</p>

<p>2) The creation and testing of defensible systems in a diverse range of settings.</p>

<p>3) The construction of a new test bed for characterising ML defensibility relative to threat scenarios. Through these interdependent program&nbsp;elements, GARD aims to create deception-resistant ML technologies with stringent criteria for evaluating their robustness.&nbsp;</p>

Amid concern that autonomous AI-driven 'slaughterbots' or 'killer robots' can go rogue on the battlefield, the US Pentagon is actively working to address vulnerabilities in its Artificial Intelligence systems. As per the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), AI systems could be exploited by attackers using visual tricks or manipulated signals. For example, using tricks and manipulation of data, AI, which is devoid of human discretion, can be fooled into thinking anything is a tank and launch an attack. Such manipulation can potentially lead to disastrous results on the battlefield. <p>Billie Eilish never shies away from talking about the environment, sustainability, her eco-friendly world and what better we can do to save our planet Earth. However, her recent comment on singers who have been prioritising their career growth by impacting the planet by reselling their music albums in various forms has not settled well with netizens and even some&nbsp;thought&nbsp;that she's indirectly hitting at Taylor Swift.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During her recent interview with Billboard, the Oscar-winning singer along with her mother Maggie Baird talked about how for her family, the environment has been a top-most priority even above her music career.</p>

<p>Speaking with the outlet, the singer called out the big artists for using ''wasteful packaging'' as they sell out the different versions of their albums including vinyl packaging.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/hollywood/news-taylor-swift%E2%80%99s-dad-will-face-no-charges-over-paparazzi-incident-in-sydney-705577">Taylor Swift’s dad will face no charges over paparazzi incident in Sydney</a></p>

<p>“We live in this day and age where, for some reason, it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging … which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money,” she said.</p>

<p>Saying it's irritating for her to see artists selling different vinyl packages to make people buy more, Eilish went on to slam the big artists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It is right in front of our faces and people are just getting away with it left and right, and I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable — and then it’s some of the biggest artists in the world making f–king 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more. It’s so wasteful, and it’s irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money — and it’s all your favorite artists doing that sh*t,” she said.<br />
<br />
Many artists like Taylor Swift, Olivio Rodrigo and others have been selling their albums through colourful vinyl variants to increase sales. Even Eilish’s album <em>Happier Than Ever</em> had eight vinyl variants, but what makes singers work eco-friendly is that they were all made up of 100% recycled material.<br />
<br />
<strong>Did Billie Eilish directly call out Taylor Swift?</strong><br />
<br />
Billie has&nbsp;expressed her anger towards the artist without taking any name. But netizens felt that the singer was indirectly hitting Tay Tay.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
For those who don't know, Taylor has been known for selling different variants of vinyl with different and colourful packaging for years now, and her millions of fans are always most excited to buy. Even her upcoming album<em> The Tortured Poets Department </em>which she announced on the Grammy night, will be released in four different versions. In 2023, Swift's Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version),&nbsp;broke the record for the largest sales week on vinyl in U.S. history.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Billie's comment grabbed mixed reactions from netizens, with the majority of them thinking that it was a direct hit at Taylor.&nbsp;</p>

However, her recent comment on singers who have been prioritising their career growth by impacting the planet by reselling their music albums in various forms has not settled well with netizens and even some thought that she's indirectly hitting at Taylor Swift. During her recent interview with Billboard, the Oscar-winning singer along with her mother Maggie Baird talked about how for her family, the environment has been a top-most priority even above her music career. Speaking with the outlet, the singer called out the big artists for using ''wasteful packaging'' as they sell out the different versions of their albums including vinyl packaging. Taylor Swift’s dad will face no charges over paparazzi incident in Sydney “We live in this day and age where, for some reason, it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging … which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money,” she said. Saying it's irritating for her to see artists selling different vinyl packages to make people buy more, Eilish went on to slam the big artists. “It is right in front of our faces and people are just getting away with it left and right, and I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable — and then it’s some of the biggest artists in the world making f–king 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more. It’s so wasteful, and it’s irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money — and it’s all your favorite artists doing that sh*t,” she said. Many artists like Taylor Swift, Olivio Rodrigo and others have been selling their albums through colourful vinyl variants to increase sales. Even Eilish’s album Happier Than Ever had eight vinyl variants, but what makes singers work eco-friendly is that they were all made up of 100% recycled material. Did Billie Eilish directly call out Taylor Swift? Billie has expressed her anger towards the artist without taking any name. But netizens felt that the singer was indirectly hitting Tay Tay. For those who don't know, Taylor has been known for selling different variants of vinyl with different and colourful packaging for years now, and her millions of fans are always most excited to buy. Even her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department which she announced on the Grammy night, will be released in four different versions. In 2023, Swift's Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version), broke the record for the largest sales week on vinyl in U.S. history. Billie's comment grabbed mixed reactions from netizens, with the majority of them thinking that it was a direct hit at Taylor. Billie was literally describing Taylor's tactic with TTPD. It was so unnecessary 😭 — Joe (Val) (@val_ag4l) March 28, 2024 × Reacting to the singer's comment, one user wrote, "Billie was literally describing Taylor's tactic with TTPD. It was so unnecessary." The Crew revolves around three flight attendants: Geeta (Tabu), Jessica (Kareena) and Divya (Kriti), who are working at Kohinoor Airlines and have their own struggles to deal with a low salary. However, their turbulent life takes a drastic turn when they come under the eye of customs for smuggling of gold biscuits. The movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh, and Saswata Chatterjee. Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma also makes a cameo appearance in the movie. Crew review WION's film critic Shomini Sen wrote, ''The three lead actresses share great onscreen chemistry and are well-cast. All from different age groups, all dealing with some very relatable problems at their age. A woman in her early 50s is planning to withdraw all her Provident Fund and retire in Goa with her husband, a single mother is struggling to pay off the school fees of her child and juggling a highly demanding job, an overweight air hostess fears being grounded, and a diligent straight A student wants to give the comforts to her loved ones she had always dreamt off,'' read full review here.

Crew box office: Tabu, Kareena, Kriti film earn decent numbers on Day 1
