The Telangana High Court on Wednesday approved the setting up of a fast-track court in Mahabubnagar to hear the case pertaining to the rape and murder of the veterinarian in Shadnagar.

"In the circumstances reported by the Registrar General, High Court for the State of Telangana at Hyderabad in the letter 2nd read above, government after careful examination of the proposal, hereby designates the Court of I Additional District and Session Judge, Mahabubnagar, as a Special Court for speedy trial of the rape and murder case of Disha (name changed) in Cr. No. 784/2019 of Shadnagar Station," reads an official order.

It said that the Registrar General of the High Court will take further necessary actions accordingly. The accused identified as Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu were sent to 14-day judicial custody by Ranga Reddy court on Saturday.

Delhi government on Sunday recommended the rejection of the mercy petition of one of the convicts in Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal of the convict Vinay Sharma and had upheld the sentence pronounced by the trial court in the matter.

"It is the fittest case to reject the mercy petition, keeping in view the heinous and gravest crime of extreme brutality committed by the applicant," ACS (Home), Delhi government, observed.

"This is the most heinous crime of extreme brutality committed by the applicant. This is the case where exemplary punishment should be given to deter others from committing such atrocious crimes. Four persons have been arrested in the case so far and sent to the judicial remand of 14 days by a local court. The four accused have been identified as Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu.

Earlier on Saturday, three cops were suspended over alleged negligence in filing the FIR in connection with the rape and murder of the veterinarian.

"Sub-inspector M Ravi Kumar and Head Constables P Venu Gopal Reddy and A Sathyanarayana Goud have been placed under suspension till further orders based on the findings of a detailed inquiry," said Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar.

He said that a detailed inquiry on the dereliction of duty was carried out on Saturday.&nbsp;

BJP will stage a 'sadak bandh' throughout Telangana on November 19 against some officials in the state government who are acting like "agents of the ruling TRS" by going after those who sided with the TSRTC employees, said the party's state President Dr K Laxman.

"It is most unfortunate that some IAS officers in Telangana are acting as agents of ruling TRS party by not only filing false affidavits, false data, and false allegations and have gone to an extent of levelling charges against BJP and even RTC employees that they are conspiring to dethrone the present state government," Laxman was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"BJP is going to participate in the 'Sadak Bandh' programme. I will lead the agitation on that day and this should become an eye-opener to the government. And see to it that the TSRTC employees' genuine demands are met, otherwise the government shall face adverse consequences in the state," he added.

Dr Laxman urged the High Court to take suo moto cognizance of the statements issued by the Transport Principal Secretary, in which he had blamed the BJP and also questioned whether standing up for the rightful demands of the TSRTC employees could be seen as a move to destabilise the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led state government.

The employees have been on a strike since October 5 with several demands including revision of pay.

On November 14, Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed to lead the protest, decided to keep aside their demand as the government showed no signs of softening its stand.

At least five TSRTC employees have committed suicide since the commencement of the strike.&nbsp;

While speaking to ANI over the phone, Laxman recalled the incidents of police "manhandling" the BJP leaders.

He shared that BJP MP from Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay was manhandled by police during a march held to observe the mourning of the death of a TSRTC employee.

Laxman said that he will bring all the matters to the notice of BJP president Amit Shah and Nadda.Sanjay will also move a privilege motion in the upcoming session of Parliament.Earlier on Saturday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao set November 5 deadline for protesting TSRTC employees to join back and said that there will be no merger of the transport corporation with the state government "on any condition".

"On any condition, there is no merger of RTC with government, this is decided by the state cabinet. 5100 private buses permission is granted in the state. This strike is declared illegal by labour commissioner. If any strike (is) declared illegal then employees and department relation do not exist. This agitation has started especially during the students` exams and festive season," Chandrashekar Rao told media.

Rao added, "Central government has brought the Motor Vehicles Act which permits privatization, it is the law of land. That is the reason we have taken this decision."

The Chief Minister said that 67 percent hike was done by the state government.

"After the privatization, all the passes will be valid and accepted. I am not bulldozing, according to the Centre's decision, we are acting. We will always work by keeping the public necessity in mind. 5,100 private buses are given route permit in the state. The RTC is demanding for never-ending wishes. The Cabinet decided not to merge RTC with the government. The government has courtesy towards the small jobs. And that is the reason we are hiking their salaries. There is no change in the cabinet decision of privatization," Rao said.

Before November 5, TSRTC employees who turn back will be accepted, the Chief Minister said.

"If not we will give permission to another 5,000 buses. The opposition parties are the killers. They are provoking the RTC employees and they are responsible for their deaths. RTC Unions and opposition parties are the 100 percent culprits. Nobody can dictate the government. Wherever the BJP government is present privatization has been done by them. It is BJP who removed RTC in Madhya Pradesh... If we obey the RTC demands then the other corporations will also demand for the same," Rao said.&nbsp;

As many as 3,914 children were rescued in Telangana this year from child labour, begging etc and a total of 478 police cases were registered concerning crime against children, police said.&nbsp;

According to Swati Lakra, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), "To trace missing children and to free children involved in bonded labour, micro industries, begging etc we had launched Operation Muskan in July.

Since the launch of the initiative, the teams rescued vulnerable children from railway stations, bus stations, religious places, traffic junctions, footpaths etc.&nbsp;

Total 3914 children were rescued in which there are 3453 minor boys and 461 minor girls.

"The senior police officer also stated that extensive usage of technology was utilised during the operation to monitor the repeat incidents of child labour."

Specific daily situation reports for collecting data were framed and such collated data was further used to know potential "black spots" where most child labour cases would occur or children were found under vulnerable conditions.&nbsp;

Our rescue teams used facial recognition apps on TS Cop as well as DARPAN.&nbsp;

Also with the database being developed, repeat incidents involving cases of child labour will be monitored", IPS Lakra said.

As per Telangana police, out of 3914 children rescued this year, 1648 were reunited with their parents while 2266 children were admitted in rescue homes.&nbsp;

478 Cases were registered under various sections concerned to crime against children under section 374 IPC, 353 IPC Section 26, 79 Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Sections 16, 17, 18 of the Bonded Labour System ( Abolition ) Act 1976 under section 14(1) 18(1) of child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016.

As many as 3,914 children were rescued in Telangana this year from child labour, begging etc and a total of 478 police cases were registered concerning crime against children, police said. According to Swati Lakra, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), "To trace missing children and to free children involved in bonded labour, micro industries, begging etc we had launched Operation Muskan in July. Since the launch of the initiative, the teams rescued vulnerable children from railway stations, bus stations, religious places, traffic junctions, footpaths etc. Total 3914 children were rescued in which there are 3453 minor boys and 461 minor girls. "The senior police officer also stated that extensive usage of technology was utilised during the operation to monitor the repeat incidents of child labour." Specific daily situation reports for collecting data were framed and such collated data was further used to know potential "black spots" where most child labour cases would occur or children were found under vulnerable conditions. Our rescue teams used facial recognition apps on TS Cop as well as DARPAN. Also with the database being developed, repeat incidents involving cases of child labour will be monitored", IPS Lakra said. As per Telangana police, out of 3914 children rescued this year, 1648 were reunited with their parents while 2266 children were admitted in rescue homes. 478 Cases were registered under various sections concerned to crime against children under section 374 IPC, 353 IPC Section 26, 79 Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Sections 16, 17, 18 of the Bonded Labour System ( Abolition ) Act 1976 under section 14(1) 18(1) of child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016.

A group of villagers attacked the police personnel with sticks and stones after the Naxal was gunned down, according to reports.&nbsp;

"A female patient came with the complaint of backache and body pains. I heard the patient's complaint, asked her to turn around and was about to examine her back when she pushed my hand away and started shouting. I was surprised by her reaction," said Dr Kumar while narrating his ordeal.

Alleging a conspiracy to defame the hospital, he said, "Even before I could react, one male patient who was in the room and two other from outside came and started shouting and abusing me.

&nbsp;After some time, her husband along with others came and abused me. I told them I was only about to examine her and did not do anything wrong."

It took the doctor to call the police to tackle the staged incident, as he calls it. He later went to the police station and "lodged a complaint against them for defaming and insulting."

"I took out the CCTV footage which clearly shows what I had done. As a senior practitioner working for 16 years in Warangal, if I am facing this kind of harassment how would others tackle situations like these? I have been made scapegoat and defamed in this incident as lots of videos and posts went viral on social media," he said.

The woman identified as Sandhya also lodged a complaint against the doctor for misbehaving with her. The police are verifying the claims of both parties.

Matwada police station Circle Inspector Jeevan Reddy said, "We have recovered the CCTV footage from the hospital and it looks like a false complaint was given against the doctor. We are collecting technical evidence in the case. If the complaint is proved to be false, the case will be against the doctor will be dissolved."

The IMD on Sunday said that thunderstorm accompanied by hail and lightning (30-40 kmph) at isolated places are very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh today.

Doctors from various medical institutions in Telangana joined the nationwide protest demanding justice and protection to them in the wake of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/calcutta-high-court-refuses-to-pass-interim-order-on-doctors-strike-227100">recent assault on doctors in Kolkata</a>.

Doctors in Kolkata have been on strike after two of their colleagues were attacked and seriously injured over an issue of alleged negligence at the NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Doctors of NIMS Hyderabad also gathered on the road in sympathy with the striking doctors of Kolkata.

Speaking to ANI, a doctor said,&nbsp;"We demand justice for what has happened with the junior doctors in West Bengal. If doctors are not safe then how come patients will be safe. All we need is safety for the saviours."

Talking about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's ultimatum to the doctors to stop the protest, the doctor added, "This is not a political issue. It is not about politics but about the safety of the doctors. Sitting on such a position she is not supposed to give such statements."

The doctors have demanded the implementation of the Central Protection Act for them all across the country.

"They think that even an 85-year-old person is not supposed to die. Once the patient dies, all the relatives enter and beat us up and leave and then the police enter the play. I would request the people to understand the fact that we being doctors are trying our best to save their lives."

Dr&nbsp;Nidha Fatima said, "I request families and attendants of patients to understand that human beings are destined to die, no matter what your age is. So learn to accept the death with dignity. Respect the person who lost his life. But attacking or hitting the person who tried to save the life of your loved ones just because they could not save your loved ones is completely defeating the purpose. So people please educate yourself."

The public has also come out in support of the doctors. "It is really sad that the doctors are getting beaten even after offering their service to the public. Sometimes mistakes happen and that does not mean that they should be beaten. If the patient or his relatives feel that something has gone wrong, then they should approach the police and go ahead as per the law. "These Congress MLAs were purchased piece-by-piece by KCR. They are not a group", Reddy said after a dozen lawmakers from his party met the Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy seeking a merger of Congress Legislature Party with TRS.

He alleged KCR had been purchasing these MLAs with his "ill-gotten money from contractors".

Each time a Congress MLA defected to the TRS, the Congress had submitted disqualification petition to the Speaker, he said, adding, each of them should have been disqualified at that point of time itself.

"Now, they kept purchasing and last purchase of MLAs was this morning. They say they are a group, and two-thirds. Supreme Court has held in many cases that Speaker does not have the power to merge a national party into a regional party", Reddy told PTI.

Rohith Reddy, representing Tandur constituency, became the 12th MLA to jump the ship Thursday, boosting the strength of the defectors to two-thirds of the Congress Legislature Party, which would insulate them from action under the anti-defection law.

Earlier, since early March, 11 Congress MLAs had shifted sides.

Congress strength in the 119-member House came down to 18 after Uttam Kumar Reddy Reddy tendered his resignation from the Assembly Wednesday after being elected to the Lok Sabha from Nalgonda in the recent elections.

Uttam Kumar Reddy Thursday said they have been trying to approach the Speaker but he was not "traceable".

"This is a completely illegal act. KCR is cheating the mandate of the people of Telangana", he said.

"We will fight in the courts and on the streets", he said when asked the options that the Congress would pursue now.

The state Congress chief said they had recently filed a petition in the high court on the issue of defection of MLAs.

"High court said there is no urgency of the matter and it will hear it on June 11. We are mentioning in the high court as soon as it assembles tomorrow. If the court does not accept our plea, we will go to the Supreme Court", he added.&nbsp;

President Kovind, PM Modi extend wishes on Telangana statehood day

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Telangana G Kishan Reddy, who was sworn-in as a Minister of State, is a leader who rose through the ranks.

The BJP leader won the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in Telangana by a comfortable margin.

Reddy, who started his political career in 1977 as an ordinary worker with the Janata Party, had served as president of BJP in undivided Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and also as national president of BJYM, BJP's youth wing.

He also functioned as the party's floor leader of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Born in 1960 in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, Kishan Reddy was inspired by Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan and RSS leaders before he plunged into public service.

After working with Janata Party as an activist, he joined the BJP when it was formed in 1980.

Reddy's growth in the saffron party was gradual and he was appointed as the president of BJYM in 2002 when the party was in power at the Centre.&nbsp;

Reddy formed the World Youth Council Against Terrorism (WYCAT), an apolitical organisation, when he was the president of BJYM.

He organised a World Youth Convention under the auspices of WYCAT in New Delhi in which delegates from over 50 countries participated.

He conducted a 'Seema Suraksha Jagran Yatra' with the objective of expressing solidarity with the people living in border areas.&nbsp;

Reddy contested Assembly polls for the first time in 2004 (from Himayatnagar in Hyderabad) and got elected. His work won him laurels though he was the only MLA for his party then.

After delimitation of constituencies, he was subsequently elected to the Assembly from Amberpet constituency in the city in 2009 and 2014.&nbsp;

He, however, lost the Assembly elections held in December 2018, the first in Telangana after its formation.

With sitting Lok Sabha member and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya being denied the ticket, Kishan Reddy was chosen by the party to contest from Secunderabad in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.

Gowtham Kumar, founder of Hyderabad-based NGO 'Serve Needy', got himself included into Universal Book of Records for serving food to more than 1,000 people in a single day.

Kumar achieved the target on Sunday after he served food to more than 1,000 people at three different places.

First, he has served food at Gandhi Hospital, then at Rajendra Nagar and finally at Amma Nanna orphanage home in Chowtuppal.

The award was presented by Universal Book of Records India representative KV Ramana Rao and Telangana representative TM Srilatha.

Talking to ANI, Kumar said, "I started Serve Needy organisation in 2014 and now we have around 140 volunteers. We have been doing these types of social activities since 2014. But today, I have served food to more than 1,000 people single-handedly. So, it was a world record."

After scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, a 20-year-old man from Ibrahimpatnam village in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district has now reached the peak of Mount Everest.

While his financial condition was not good, Amogh Tukaram was interested in climbing mountains since he was 17 years old and hence took financial assistance from few Telangana officials and went ahead to climb Mount Everest.

He reached the peak of Mount Everest on May 22 at 9.15 am.

Speaking to ANI over the phone, Tukaram said, "My aim is to climb seven highest peaks in seven continents and as part of this, I have already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and now on May 22 I reached the peak of Mount Everest. I just want to make my nation proud. My financial condition was not good, so I have taken financial assistance from few officials like Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, Telangana Tourism Commissioner Sunita Bhagwat IFS, Ramchandru Tejavat Advisor to Telangana government and others and I have finally made it."

He added, "I started my journey on April 6 and two of my team members died in front of me due to bad weather, but it didn`t stop me from climbing Mount Everest. I am very happy that I have reached the peak safely and made my nation proud."

Mahesh Bhagwat, Rachakonda Police Commissioner congratulated Tukaram for his achievement and said, "I have faith in him and that was the reason we have extended financial assistance to him."

According to the Met Department, the states are likely to register temperature between 40 and 45 degree Celsius.

"Present weather situation indicates that there was isolated turf at northeastern Karnataka at the height of 1.3 kilometres and moving towards Tamil Nadu. Due to this, there will be thunderstorms and rainfall in some areas of the Telugu states," metrologist L V Rao told ANI here.

He said,&nbsp;"Due to heat waves coming from northwestern states, the temperature in Andhra and Telangana is going to rise up to 45 degree Celsius."
