Dutch universities have already begun rejecting Chinese students that receive a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council.

Education Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf, a former director of Princeton University's Institute for Advanced Studies, in April told parliament he was undertaking a review of which university programs have received foreign funding.

In 2022, he set up an "information centre" for universities to help vet foreign academic partnerships.

Last week the Dutch government introduced a security review for would-be foreign investors in the country that might pose a threat to national security interests.

The Dutch government in March said it would adopt stricter export rules for semiconductor technology, leading ASML Holding NV to say it will likely soon need a licence in order to export its second-most-advanced tools to China. Its most advanced tools are already barred.

The number of foreign students in the Netherlands has been growing in recent years, sparking disagreement over whether the Dutch language should be mandatory in classes.

But proportionately fewer Chinese students have come since 2012 and China has fallen from second to fifth on the list of most common foreign country of origin, according to nonprofit Nuffic, which promotes international educational cooperation at Dutch universities.

M&amp;A Research Institute, a company that matches Japanese business owners with successors using AI, has more than tripled its opening price since its debut on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in June 2022.

This year alone, the stock has risen 47 per cent. &nbsp;

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Shunsaku Sagami, a 32-year-old entrepreneur with a 72 per cent&nbsp;stake in the company, is worth $950 million as of May 16.

M&amp;A Research Institute, founded in 2018, aims to assist ageing owners of small and medium-sized enterprises who are forced to close their doors because no one is available to take over. In April, the business stated that 620,000 profitable enterprises in Japan face collapse owing to a shortage of successors.

In a recent interview, Sagami told Bloomberg that he was inspired to launch this firm by his grandpa, who was forced to close his real estate office in the 1980s after he retired due to a lack of a successor, reported the Business Insider.&nbsp;

"In his office, there was a license for real estate agents framed up on the wall," Sagami told Bloomberg. "Seeing that taken down and thrown away was sad," he added.&nbsp;

M&amp;A Research Institute, which employs around 160 workers, focuses on firms with yearly revenues of up to 500 million Japanese yen, or $3.7 million.&nbsp;

According to its website, the business can conclude M&amp;A agreements in 49 days to six months using AI and proprietary data. As per&nbsp;the Tokyo-based company, these transactions often take more than a year from request to completion.

Until a transaction is completed, M&amp;A Research Institute does not charge any fees. It charges fees of up to 5 per cent&nbsp;for a successful closing.

Other M&amp;A consultants charge retainer fees in the tens of millions of yen — even if the deal never closes, according to M&amp;A Research Institute's website.

The company claimed it concluded 62 agreements in the six months to March 2023, more than double the 26 it closed in the same time last year.

The M&amp;A brokerage is not Sagami's first enterprise. According to Bloomberg, he graduated from Kobe University with degrees in biology and agriculture and worked as a designer, software developer, and marketing officer before striking out on his own.

In 2017, he sold Alpaca, a women's fashion and beauty brand he started, to a Japanese public relations firm.

As reported by Bloomberg, Sagami found the deal process sluggish, so he built up a system with an AI algorithm to ease the flow of the company.&nbsp;

On Tuesday, M&amp;A Research Institute's stock closed&nbsp;0.4 per cent&nbsp;lower at 9,270 Japanese yen.

The artwork, which is the first totally AI-drawn manga in Japan, has sparked concerns about the potential danger that technology may pose to jobs and copyright in the country's multibillion-dollar comic book industry.

A skilled artist would have needed a year to write the more than 100-page comic, but the author, who goes by the pen name Rootport, finished it in just six weeks.

“Imagine a multi-billion dollar client who refused to pay you for good work rendered. Most people would turn to lawyers. I turned to ChatGPT. Here's the story of how I recovered $109,500 without spending a dime on legal fees,” Isenberg wrote on Twitter.

In keeping with his account, he stated that his business handled some design work for a brand last year that was well-received. The customer continued requesting more work, and the business kept exceeding expectations. When it was time for payment, the brand, however, stopped communicating. The CEO said that they had never had a customer skip out on payments and that this had caused the morale of the entire workforce to suffer. Then it was his turn to intervene.

"Instead of sending another email that might fall on deaf ears or hiring an expensive lawyer to initiate debt collections, I had an idea. What if ChatGPT could draft a bit more of a scary email to draw attention? At the very least, I'd learn something. The cost of ChatGPT: USD 0. The cost of our lawyer to send this notice: USD 1,000. So, we asked ChatGPT to pretend to draft “a scary collection email” so we can recover the USD 109,500 owed to us," Isenberg added.

He then revealed the prompt he used and the email text that ChatGPT had created, adding that he had forwarded the same to the customer after making a few small adjustments. To his astonishment, the customer reacted to the correspondence quickly and stated, 'let's get you guys paid'.

The prompt used by the CEO was, “Pretend you work in the finance department and your job is to collect payments from clients. Draft a scary email that gets XYZ client to pay for USD 109,500 of services rendered but hasn't responded to 5 emails. Their invoices are 5 months overdue.”

A Google senior manager recently fired as part of the tech giant's cost-cutting measure seeks to start his own business within six weeks. Six other former Google employees who were also let go similarly are helping to support the man, Henry Kirk.

Kirk now targets to build his own design and development studio in New York and San Francisco in six weeks, along with his team.

Why six weeks? Because Krik wants to set up the new company before Google's 60-day layoff notice window ends.

The partnership seeks to build cutting-edge ESD device solutions to protect ultra-high-speed serial interfaces in advanced Integrated Circuits (ICs) and system-on-chip (SoC) products. An integrated circuit refers to a circuit compressed into a small-sized chip, whereas a system-on-chip has computer-like capabilities and can run an operating system.&nbsp;The related research will be carried out by Professor&nbsp;Mayank Shrivastava’s group at the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (DESE), IISc. Solutions arising from this research will be deployed in Samsung’s advanced process nodes, said the company.&nbsp;

The artist has also shared the definition of a “stereotype” after facing some criticism about certain images.&nbsp;

The two Twitter threads each consisting of at least 30 images each showing men and women from states including, Delhi,&nbsp;Goa, Maharashtra,&nbsp;West Bengal,&nbsp;Kerala, and so on,&nbsp;were created by an AI-powered tool ‘midjourney’, which generates images using prompts entered by the user.&nbsp;

The first set of images posted on Tuesday (December 27) depicting, “Indian men created using stereotypes and AI” beginning with Delhi, has since garnered thousands of views and likes on the microblogging platform.&nbsp;

The artist has also indicated that he will be creating a third Twitter thread&nbsp;on “other anomalies.” Kohli later explained, “There will be one last thread for stereotypes tomorrow and then we're done. This will not be based on regionality but instead on anomalies, characteristics, and motives. A lot more interesting, a lot less infuriating.”&nbsp;
