<p>Taylor Swift on Wednesday repeated her call for fans to register to vote in the US presidential election as she accepted MTV's top Video Music Award.&nbsp;Swift won the Video of the Year for "Fortnight," which also featured Post Malone, and thanked her loyal Swifties for bestowing her with the fan-chosen award, which she took home for the third straight year.</p>

<p>"To the fans, I'm always trying to figure out a way to say thank you to you for making my life what it is," Swift, who directed the video, said onstage.</p>

<p>"If you are over 18 please register to vote for something else that is very important," she added.</p>

<p>The 34-year-old international megastar's call follows her endorsement of Kamala Harris in the minutes after the previous evening's presidential debate between the Democratic hopeful and Republican Donald Trump.</p>

<p>"I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them," Swift said in a lengthy Instagram post, throwing her support behind the Democratic nominee.</p>

<p>Also among the night's big winners was Chappell Roan, the "Midwest Princess" whose career has skyrocketed in recent months.</p>

<p>She wore a full suit of armour as she took the stage with a fiery crossbow to channel Joan of Arc in her performance of "Good Luck, Babe!" set in front of a flaming castle.</p>

<p>She dedicated her Best New Artist trophy to "queer and trans people who feel hot, to the gays who dedicate my songs to someone they love or hate."</p>

<p>"And for all the queer kids in the Midwest watching right now I see you," the Missouri native continued. "I understand you, because I'm one of you, and don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't be exactly who you want to be."</p>

<p><strong>- Performance over prizes -</strong><br />

South Africa's Tyla meanwhile won Best Afrobeats for "Water," a result she called "such a big moment for Africa."</p>

<p>"The global impact that 'Water' had on the world just proved that African music can be pop music too," she said to wild applause. "Like this is just so special but also bittersweet, because I know there's a tendency to group all African artists under Afrobeats."</p>

<p>"African music is so diverse -- it's more than just Afrobeats," Tyla said.</p>

<p>The vast majority of awards were doled out offstage during the evening far better known for its performances and stage antics than its prizes.</p>

<p>Megan Thee Stallion hosted, at one point even recreating Britney Spears's iconic 2001 set when she performed with a live python.</p>

<p>Megan's snake was real too -- but she didn't have the same stamina as Brit.</p>

<p>"Come get this snake -- I don't know this snake, this snake don't know me," she shrieked as a handler took the reptile from her arms.</p>

<p>Eminem opened the evening with a recreation of his famous set from the 2000 edition of the awards when he performed "The Real Slim Shady," packing the stage with a crew of his doppelgangers.</p>

<p>Fashion-wise it was an evening for the vamps, including Swift in Dior, with a yellow plaid bustier top and open skirt complete with caged leather gloves and velvet hot pants.</p>

<p>The Reputation-coded outfit was yet another clue for the Swifties that her re-recording of that album was on its way.</p>

<p>And Sabrina Carpenter arrived in archival Bob Mackie -- the same shimmering push-up strapless gown that Madonna wore to the 1991 Oscars.</p>

<p>She dropped from the ceiling on a swing to perform songs including "Espresso" to wide applause.</p>

<p>Carpenter later won the prize for "Song of the Year" for her caffeinated bop.</p>

<p>Anitta brought her signature high-energy twerks to the stage, while Karol G recreated a Latin bar scene to deliver "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido."</p>

<p>Katy Perry was bestowed with the evening's top honor, the Video Vanguard prize, which her husband, the actor Orlando Bloom, presented to her.</p>

<p>Perry also emerged from the air, giving a video-game-meets-Cirque-du-Soleil aerial dancing performance of her greatest hits including "Dark Horse" and "California Gurls."</p>

<p>Earlier in the broadcast, while accepting an award with Post Malone for Best Collaboration, Swift acknowledged that this year's show fell on September 11.</p>

<p>She paid homage to those lost in the 2001 attacks, telling the audience "that is the most important thing about today."</p>

Taylor Swift uses the MTV VMAs stage to talk about US Presidential elections

<p>Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance took a swipe at pop star Taylor Swift for backing Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The elections are scheduled for November with both Trump and Harris ready to lock horns for the top post.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slamming Taylor Swift for her choice, JD Vance called her a “disconnected billionaire” and said that she was unaware of the problems faced by the common American.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>We like her music, not her choice&nbsp;says JD Vance on Taylor Swift</strong></h2>

<p>Speaking to Fox News' The Story, Vance said, "We admire Taylor Swift's music, but I don't think most Americans, whether they like her music or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans.”</p>

<p>He said that as Americans largely face issues, it doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift and hence she’s disassociated with the current problems. JD Vance said, “When grocery prices go up by 20 per cent, it hurts most Americans. (But) it doesn't hurt Taylor Swift.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn't affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It does affect most middle-class Americans all over our country.”</p>

<h2><strong>Taylor Swift has endorsed Kamala Harris</strong></h2>

<p>JD Vance’s comments came a day after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and said that she would vote for her in the upcoming presidential election. She said that she came to the decision after she saw the first-ever presidential debate between the current US Vice President and her Republican rival Donald Trump.</p>

<p>Endorsing Kamala Harris, Taylor Swift wrote, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”</p>

<p>She added, "It really conjured up my fears around Al, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth."</p>

(But) it doesn't hurt Taylor Swift.” He added, “When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn't affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It does affect most middle-class Americans all over our country.” Vance: “I don't think most Americans are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans” 🤔 pic.twitter.com/5xNUiWqyQt — Kamala HQ (@KamalaHQ) September 11, 2024 × Taylor Swift has endorsed Kamala Harris JD Vance’s comments came a day after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and said that she would vote for her in the upcoming presidential election. She said that she came to the decision after she saw the first-ever presidential debate between the current US Vice President and her Republican rival Donald Trump. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” She added, "It really conjured up my fears around Al, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth." Australia's bizarre campaign promotes 'pooing at work', asks people to imagine Taylor Swift 'do it'

<p>Tesla CEO Elon Musk in an unscrupulous move took a "cheap" shot at pop star Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris after the US vice president's fierce debate with her Republican rival Donald Trump.</p>

<p>CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) Deputy Director David Cohen said that the suspects behind the thwarted plot to attack Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concerts in the Austrian capital city of Vienna&nbsp;wanted to kill "tens of thousands" of the American singer's fans.&nbsp;</p>

Suspects behind failed Taylor Swift Vienna concert attack wanted to kill 'tens of thousands'

<p>The news of the terror plot at Taylor Swift's Vienna sent shockwaves around the globe. As per the recent information revealed, it has been learned that “tens of thousands” of fans were the target of the foiled terrorist attempt at Vienna shows.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Aug 28, CIA Deputy Director David S. Cohen shared that the agency had provided information about four people connected to the Islamic State. At the annual Intelligence Summit just outside Washington&nbsp;DC,&nbsp;Cohen&nbsp;shared an update on the investigation into the planned terrorist, which led to the cancelling of all the shows in Austria’s capital.</p>

<p>“They were plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people at this concert, I am sure many Americans,” Cohen said, as per&nbsp;The New York Times report.</p>

<p>“The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency and our partners in the intelligence community provided them information about what this ISIS-connected group was planning to do,” he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Beginning on&nbsp;Aug 8 at the Ernst Happel Stadium, Swift's three back-to-back shows were planned in the European city, which were cancelled following America's intelligence agencies' inputs to Austria's security official. Around 200,000 people were expected to attend.</p>

<p>As of now, three people have been arrested, including a 19-year-old Austrian, a primary suspect who "intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives". Later, a 17-year-old Austrian and an 18-year-old Iraqi were arrested. Apart from this, not many details about the alleged Islamic State sympathisers have&nbsp;been released.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Aug 9, the United States confirmed that they had provided intelligence to Austria that helped foil an alleged Islamic State plot to attack a Taylor Swift concert.</p>

<p>Breaking her silence on the foiled terrorist attack, Swift said in a statement shared on social media&nbsp;last week that she felt guilty for cancelling the shows. However, she thanked the authorities that all are, ''grieving concerts and not lives.”&nbsp;</p>

The news of the terror plot at Taylor Swift's Vienna sent shockwaves around the globe. As per the recent information revealed, it has been learned that “tens of thousands” of fans were the target of the foiled terrorist attempt at Vienna shows. On Aug 28, CIA Deputy Director David S. Cohen shared that the agency had provided information about four people connected to the Islamic State. At the annual Intelligence Summit just outside Washington DC, Cohen shared an update on the investigation into the planned terrorist, which led to the cancelling of all the shows in Austria’s capital. “They were plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people at this concert, I am sure many Americans,” Cohen said, as per The New York Times report. “The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency and our partners in the intelligence community provided them information about what this ISIS-connected group was planning to do,” he added. Beginning on Aug 8 at the Ernst Happel Stadium, Swift's three back-to-back shows were planned in the European city, which were cancelled following America's intelligence agencies' inputs to Austria's security official. Around 200,000 people were expected to attend. As of now, three people have been arrested, including a 19-year-old Austrian, a primary suspect who "intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives". Later, a 17-year-old Austrian and an 18-year-old Iraqi were arrested. Apart from this, not many details about the alleged Islamic State sympathisers have been released. Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Travis Kelce spotted at Taylor Swift's Rhode Island mansion: Viral

<p>Taylor Swift has opened up for the first time about the foiled terror plot at the Vienna leg of her Eras tour which led to the cancellation of the concerts in the Austrian capital. In a lengthy Instagram post, the American pop sensation&nbsp;said she felt tremendous guilt and shared how she went through a rollercoaster of emotions.</p>

<h2><strong>How Vienna terror plot&nbsp;led to Taylor Swift concert cancellation</strong></h2>

<p>In early August, Austrian police foiled a terror attack plot led by a 19-year-old Islamic State supporter, who wanted to kill himself and many others on or before the Swift concerts in Vienna. The Vienna leg of the tour was to have taken place from August 8 to 10 at the Ernst Happel stadium. There was hope initially that the concert could go on, but authorities stopped it citing an&nbsp;“abstract danger”, leaving thousands of her fans known as Swifties heartbroken.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The terror plot evoked memories of the Ariana Grande concert bombing in the UK's Manchester Arena in 2019 which killed at least 23 people.</p>

<p>Austrian police arrested the 19-year-old and two others aged 17 and 18 and said the main suspect had been radicalised online and became a sympathiser of Islamic State. Authorities raided his house and found bomb-making chemicals.</p>

<h2><strong>What Taylor Swift said in her Instagram post on Vienna tour cancellation</strong></h2>

<p>In the Instagram post titled 'In Summation', Swift said on Wednesday night (Aug 21) that having the Vienna shows cancelled was "devastating".</p>

<p>“The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives,” she wrote.</p>

<p>In the wake of the Vienna gig cancellation, she said all her energy went into protecting “the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London” in the subsequent days.&nbsp;<br />

“My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us...Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”</p>

Taylor Swift has opened up for the first time about the foiled terror plot at the Vienna leg of her Eras tour which led to the cancellation of the concerts in the Austrian capital.

Taylor Swift has opened up for the first time about the foiled terror plot at the Vienna leg of her Eras tour which led to the cancellation of the concerts in the Austrian capital. In a lengthy Instagram post, the American pop sensation said she felt tremendous guilt and shared how she went through a rollercoaster of emotions. How Vienna terror plot led to Taylor Swift concert cancellation In early August, Austrian police foiled a terror attack plot led by a 19-year-old Islamic State supporter, who wanted to kill himself and many others on or before the Swift concerts in Vienna. The Vienna leg of the tour was to have taken place from August 8 to 10 at the Ernst Happel stadium. There was hope initially that the concert could go on, but authorities stopped it citing an “abstract danger”, leaving thousands of her fans known as Swifties heartbroken. WATCH: Taylor Swift shows in Vienna cancelled after 2 arrested for planning terror plot × The terror plot evoked memories of the Ariana Grande concert bombing in the UK's Manchester Arena in 2019 which killed at least 23 people. Austrian police arrested the 19-year-old and two others aged 17 and 18 and said the main suspect had been radicalised online and became a sympathiser of Islamic State. Authorities raided his house and found bomb-making chemicals. What Taylor Swift said in her Instagram post on Vienna tour cancellation In the Instagram post titled 'In Summation', Swift said on Wednesday night (Aug 21) that having the Vienna shows cancelled was "devastating". “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives,” she wrote. In the wake of the Vienna gig cancellation, she said all her energy went into protecting “the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London” in the subsequent days. King Charles III meets child survivors of tragic stabbing attack at Taylor Swift-theme dance class

<p>US presidential candidate Donald Trump has posted a fake image on social media of popstar Taylor Swift supporting his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
On Sunday, a&nbsp;post by the Republican candidate on Truth Social showed Swift dressed in red, white and blue with a caption that said "Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump." "I accept!" Trump wrote.<br />
<br />
Many are aware that Swift has never endorsed a candidate publicly in the 2024 race. However, she has supported Democrats earlier. Trump is a Republican candidate.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Swift had backed US President Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris in 2020. At the 2024 elections, Harris will be contesting for the elections against Trump.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Swift also criticized Trump in a 2020 documentary.<br />
<br />
Swift is known to be one of the iconic figures in pop culture and has a huge fan base worldwide who proudly call themselves Swifties. Perhaps, Trump was eager to cash in on Taylor Swift's popularity, sharing photos of young women wearing "Swifties for Trump" shirts, and a satirical article with the headline "Swifties Turning to Trump After ISIS Foiled Taylor Swift Concert." The article was marked "SATIRE" above the headline.<br />
<br />
"Swifties for Trump is a massive movement that grows bigger every single day," Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement when asked for comment about the fake Swift image. We aren't sure if Cheung's comment was a jibe at the singer and her fans or if he genuinely was mistaken by the fake images.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Soon after the images surfaced online, Swift fans and watchdog groups pointed out that images posted by Trump appeared to be deepfakes generated by artificial intelligence.<br />
<br />
Trump's post was "yet another example of AI's power to create misinformation," consumer group Public Citizen said, as per Reuters. "The potential harms to our society that could result from such misinformation, including abuses of our elections, are wide-reaching and immensely damaging," the group added.</p>

<p><strong>Taylor Swift's political leanings</strong><br />
<br />
While Swift has been busy touring with her Eras Tour worldwide, at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Swift fan Rebecca Goff handed out friendship bracelets, a common practice among the singer's fans, at a Nevada Democratic Party breakfast.<br />
<br />
Goff told the news agency that she felt Trump was the antithesis of Swift's ideals, including celebrating girlhood and womanhood. "That's like the antithesis of what Trump and the GOP are trying to do, especially to women. They're trying to make us smaller. They want us to go back to being just housewives, child bearers," Goff said.</p>

<br />
Swift has so far not reacted to Trump's posts but the former US President's post also drew online mockery and scorn from the singer's fans, some of whom called on her to take legal action against the former president.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
In the past, Swift's feelers into politics have been heavily scrutinized, which has also led to political misinformation and right-wing conspiracy theories. Her silence had even led many to think she was a closet Republican, until 2018 when she broke both her silence and the internet by endorsing the Democratic opponent of far-right US Senator Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee.<br />
<br />
In 2020, however, she had supported Biden and Harris. She has since spoken out in particular for the legal right to an abortion and LGBTQ rights.<br />

In recent weeks, intense speculation has swirled on social media that Swift will endorse Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the November election. While the singer has yet to comment, some of her fans have already formed a group called "Swifties for Kamala," attracting tens of thousands of followers on platforms including Instagram and X.</p>

US presidential candidate Donald Trump has posted a fake image on social media of popstar Taylor Swift supporting his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections.

US presidential candidate Donald Trump has posted a fake image on social media of popstar Taylor Swift supporting his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections. On Sunday, a post by the Republican candidate on Truth Social showed Swift dressed in red, white and blue with a caption that said "Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump." "I accept!" Trump wrote. Many are aware that Swift has never endorsed a candidate publicly in the 2024 race. However, she has supported Democrats earlier. Trump is a Republican candidate. Swift had backed US President Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris in 2020. At the 2024 elections, Harris will be contesting for the elections against Trump. Swift also criticized Trump in a 2020 documentary. Swift is known to be one of the iconic figures in pop culture and has a huge fan base worldwide who proudly call themselves Swifties. Perhaps, Trump was eager to cash in on Taylor Swift's popularity, sharing photos of young women wearing "Swifties for Trump" shirts, and a satirical article with the headline "Swifties Turning to Trump After ISIS Foiled Taylor Swift Concert." The article was marked "SATIRE" above the headline. "Swifties for Trump is a massive movement that grows bigger every single day," Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement when asked for comment about the fake Swift image. We aren't sure if Cheung's comment was a jibe at the singer and her fans or if he genuinely was mistaken by the fake images. Soon after the images surfaced online, Swift fans and watchdog groups pointed out that images posted by Trump appeared to be deepfakes generated by artificial intelligence. Trump's post was "yet another example of AI's power to create misinformation," consumer group Public Citizen said, as per Reuters. "The potential harms to our society that could result from such misinformation, including abuses of our elections, are wide-reaching and immensely damaging," the group added. Taylor Swift's political leanings While Swift has been busy touring with her Eras Tour worldwide, at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Swift fan Rebecca Goff handed out friendship bracelets, a common practice among the singer's fans, at a Nevada Democratic Party breakfast. Goff told the news agency that she felt Trump was the antithesis of Swift's ideals, including celebrating girlhood and womanhood. "That's like the antithesis of what Trump and the GOP are trying to do, especially to women. They're trying to make us smaller. They want us to go back to being just housewives, child bearers," Goff said. Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce romance leading to conspiracy theories on Biden re-election bid ahead of Superbowl Swift has so far not reacted to Trump's posts but the former US President's post also drew online mockery and scorn from the singer's fans, some of whom called on her to take legal action against the former president. Malala Yousafzai is a big time Taylor Swift fan, says it was 'magical' to attend London concert

<p>Taylor Swift kicked off the first of five sell-out London shows on Thursday, taking to the stage a week after concerts in Vienna were cancelled due to a foiled suicide attack plot.</p>

<p>The American star's return to Wembley Stadium, where she performed for three nights in June, marks the end of the European leg of her record-breaking "Eras" tour.</p>

<p>In addition to events in Vienna, the concert comes just over two weeks after three girls were killed in a mass stabbing at a dance class themed around her music in northwest England.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 34-year-old appeared on the Wembley stage for her hit song "22" wearing a T-shirt bearing the words "a lot going on at the moment" -- a fashion statement interpreted as a reference to both incidents.</p>

<p>Three alleged Islamic State group sympathisers have been detained in Austria over a plan to launch an attack using explosives and knives on the Swift concerts.</p>

<p>London police said there was "nothing to indicate" any links between the Vienna events and Swift's gigs in the UK capital in front of 90,000 fans.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But it was working "closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place".</p>

<p><strong>- 'Worries' -</strong><br />
<br />
Extra security, including additional ticket checks, hundreds of stewards and extra restrictions, did not dampen the spirits of so-called "Swifties" out in force Thursday.</p>

<p>"It doesn't feel real, that it's actually happening!" Katie Moulson, 24, told AFP as she arrived at Wembley</p>

<p>Fans were decked out in glittery skirts, tasselled jackets, cowboy hats and stacks of friendship bracelets as they descended on northwest London.</p>

<p>"After Vienna, it's good to hear that they've upped the security," student Brodie MacArthur, 23, told AFP, as she arrived wearing a long white dress inspired by Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department".</p>

<p>"In the back of your head, there's still worries. But there are a lot of people here to keep it safe," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following the UK knife attack, Swift said she was "completely in shock" and at a "complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families" impacted.</p>

<p>The BBC reported Thursday that she has privately reached out to them.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, her fans launched a fundraiser for the victims, which raised nearly £400,000 ($514,000) under the banner "Swifties for Southport".</p>

<p>The tragedy "made you realise how much Swifties need each other", MacArthur noted. "Because obviously there's been such horrible events, that just brought us all together more."</p>

<p>Swift has not yet commented on the plot on the Vienna shows.</p>

<p>"I think she's just ready to come back and perform," said Lauren Thies, 19, who has attended five previous Swift concerts with her mother, Denise.</p>

<p>"She loves performing for her fans," the teenager added.</p>

<p><strong>- 'Anticipation' -</strong><br />
<br />
The US star did not disappoint, bringing out Ed Sheeran as a surprise guest to the delight of the capacity crowd.</p>

<p>The pair performed several hits, including two Swift tracks they collaborated on and Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" as a surprise song.</p>

Taylor Swift kicked off the first of five sell-out London shows on Thursday, taking to the stage a week after concerts in Vienna were cancelled due to a foiled suicide attack plot.

Taylor Swift kicked off the first of five sell-out London shows on Thursday, taking to the stage a week after concerts in Vienna were cancelled due to a foiled suicide attack plot. The American star's return to Wembley Stadium, where she performed for three nights in June, marks the end of the European leg of her record-breaking "Eras" tour. In addition to events in Vienna, the concert comes just over two weeks after three girls were killed in a mass stabbing at a dance class themed around her music in northwest England. The 34-year-old appeared on the Wembley stage for her hit song "22" wearing a T-shirt bearing the words "a lot going on at the moment" -- a fashion statement interpreted as a reference to both incidents. Three alleged Islamic State group sympathisers have been detained in Austria over a plan to launch an attack using explosives and knives on the Swift concerts. London police said there was "nothing to indicate" any links between the Vienna events and Swift's gigs in the UK capital in front of 90,000 fans. But it was working "closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place". - 'Worries' - Extra security, including additional ticket checks, hundreds of stewards and extra restrictions, did not dampen the spirits of so-called "Swifties" out in force Thursday. "It doesn't feel real, that it's actually happening!" Katie Moulson, 24, told AFP as she arrived at Wembley Fans were decked out in glittery skirts, tasselled jackets, cowboy hats and stacks of friendship bracelets as they descended on northwest London. "After Vienna, it's good to hear that they've upped the security," student Brodie MacArthur, 23, told AFP, as she arrived wearing a long white dress inspired by Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department". "In the back of your head, there's still worries. But there are a lot of people here to keep it safe," she added. Following the UK knife attack, Swift said she was "completely in shock" and at a "complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families" impacted. The BBC reported Thursday that she has privately reached out to them. Meanwhile, her fans launched a fundraiser for the victims, which raised nearly £400,000 ($514,000) under the banner "Swifties for Southport". The tragedy "made you realise how much Swifties need each other", MacArthur noted. "Because obviously there's been such horrible events, that just brought us all together more." Swift has not yet commented on the plot on the Vienna shows. "I think she's just ready to come back and perform," said Lauren Thies, 19, who has attended five previous Swift concerts with her mother, Denise. "She loves performing for her fans," the teenager added. - 'Anticipation' - The US star did not disappoint, bringing out Ed Sheeran as a surprise guest to the delight of the capacity crowd. The pair performed several hits, including two Swift tracks they collaborated on and Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" as a surprise song. Fans from around the world had travelled to Wembley, where Swift is performing more "Eras" tour shows than anywhere else. "I was worried, because this is the first concert after that (Vienna). So I was afraid to look at my phone and see something," said Denise, who flew in with Lauren from US state New Jersey. Three men have been arrested in connection to the terror threat with one being said to have links with ISIS. Swifties heartbroken after concert gets cancelled

<p>Insurers face millions of dollars in claims after a foiled attack forced three Taylor Swift concerts in Austria to be cancelled, though several providers will share out the hit, two people involved in insurance for her tour told Reuters.</p>

<p>The concerts in Vienna were cancelled this week after a planned attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium. Some 195,000 "Swifties" had been expected to attend, with many travelling from abroad for a chance to see the pop superstar.</p>

<p>Barracuda Music, the concert organiser, said all tickets would be refunded within 10 days. It could not immediately be reached for comment about insurance arrangements.</p>

<p>Swift is popular among insurers as she rarely cancels concerts, a third insurance source said. Her celebrity and success mean that most specialist event cancellation insurers in London would be involved in covering her tour, one of the sources said. The sources declined to be named, citing client confidentiality.</p>

<p>Organisers of large sporting and&nbsp;entertainment&nbsp;events typically buy event cancellation insurance, much of which tends to be insured through the Lloyd's of London market by a consortium of insurers.</p>

<p>A Lloyd's of London spokesperson confirmed that event cancellation insurance is offered at Lloyd's, but said it could not comment on specific policies.</p>

<p>Militant attacks are often excluded from event cancellation policies, but policyholders typically buy extra cover against them, or the threat of them."The standalone terrorism cancellation insurance policy would have been triggered by the terrorism act or threat clause within the policy, as there has been a known potential terrorism event," said Tim Thornhill, managing director at broker Tysers.</p>

<p>Reuters could not establish the extent of cover on the concerts. Marcos Alvarez, managing director for global financial institution ratings at Morningstar DBRS, said losses from the cancellations could be in the tens of millions of dollars.</p>

<p>Alvarez said insurance losses were likely to be limited by the fact that the concerts could be rescheduled.</p>

<p>The cover was structured so that insurers would not be on the hook for a full cancellation of the tour, said Andrew Colcomb, head of syndicate research at Argenta Private Capital, based on his analysis.</p>

<p>Swift's Eras tour is estimated to generate nearly $2 billion in ticket sales.</p>

<p>Event cancellation insurance typically also covers delay, moving the event to another location, rent for the venue, the artist's pay and ticketing.</p>

<p>The policies can be taken out by local or international organisers, and artists can add their own policies to make sure they get paid for the event if it is cancelled, industry sources say. The stadium would also typically have event cancellation insurance, said Loretta Worters, vice president, media relations at the US&nbsp;Insurance Information Institute.</p>

<p>"Assuming this is an isolated event, we believe that most insurers will remain comfortable with their exposure to cancellation insurance products," Alvarez said.</p>

<p>Going forward, he added: "insurers could restrict the coverage available for cancellation insurance due to terrorism, given increasing political tensions around the world".</p>

<p>Leigh Ann Rossi, senior vice president, sports and&nbsp;entertainment&nbsp;group, at broker NFP, also said she didn't think "this&nbsp;one-off concert claim will move the needle in the marketplace".</p>

<p>She added, however, that "should this become a pattern or if something happens in Paris at the Olympics, these could have impact on the marketplace".</p>

<p>British police said on Thursday there was nothing to indicate the planned attack would have any impact on Swift's return next week to Wembley Stadium, London, for her five final shows in Europe.</p>

<p>Any extra security for the concerts would "create a significant challenge" for the police, said Rich Phillips, head of crisis, resilience and reputation consulting at insurance broker Marsh, particularly as officials are on high alert after days of rioting in Britain involving racist attacks targeting Muslims and migrants.</p>
