The makers of the upcoming film released its trailer on Friday. The 2.43-minute-long video gives a sneak peek into each and every pivotal character including those played by, Ashutosh Rana, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranvir Shorey. While the first trailer of the film starts with a standoff between the dacoits and the police who have cornered them at an abandoned house, the latest trailer delves more into the milieu, and the psyche of the characters. The actors have impressively caught on to the local dialect of Chambal and hence the dialogues sound effortless and catchy. The Abhishek Chaubey directorial is a rustic tale set in the valleys of Chambal and will see Sushant essaying the role of a dacoit along with Ranvir and Manoj. The trailer of the film, that was recently released, depicts wars between dacoit gangs, fighting to acquire control of central India during the 1970s.

I have been a huge admirer of Abhishek Chaubey's (director) work and I feel fortunate to work with him. I have played small role in the film but it's really good role which he has offered to me. I hope appreciate my role in the film."</p>

'Sonchiriya' trailer: Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee transform themselves for this dacoit drama

<p>Sushant Singh Rajput is happy with the response to his recently released film 'Kedarnath'&nbsp;and he says it encourages him to do better.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film that marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan opened at Rs 7.25 crore and got mixed reviews from critics. It released on December 7.</p>

<p>Sushant played the role of a Muslim porter in the Abhishek Kapoor-directed film, that was set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand floods.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I am really happy with the audience response (to 'Kedarnath'). When an actor's work gets appreciated it really feels good and it only gives encouragement," Sushant told reporters here Sunday night at the Star Screen Awards 2018.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added he is happy that people are appreciating the minute details of the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As an actor or as a filmmaker, all we want is that whatever we wanted to say should reach the audience."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, when asked about praising the look of his former actor girlfriend Ankita Lokhande from her Bollywood debut film 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', he said, "I saw the picture and I really liked it. I wanted to congratulate her and so I did it."</p>

"I don't consider ethnicity, religion, caste as markers and consider them as divisive. I don't think the film does either. The film is not about dividing you, it rather calls for coming together. I don't know how people are feeling hurt. I don't think they have seen the film."<br />

<p>The first teaser-trailer is over one-minute-long and will remind you of an era forgotten -- when the dacoits terrorised entire Indian villages and ran their own gangs, much before the mafias and dons took over.</p>

<p>Set in the 1970s, the film pitches Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh Rajput as dacoits of Chambal valley, a much-dreaded place in India for loot and crime. Ranveer Shorey is another dacoit in the picture along with actress Bhumi Pednekar who has a meaty role too (we hope).&nbsp;</p>

<p>‘Sonchiriya’ revolves around dacoits of Chambal valley. A second poster released of the film that focuses on the dry, mountainous terrains of Chambal, unlike the first poster that showed a group of men armed for combat.&nbsp;</p>

I have been told that Fox Studios are doing the investigation and whatsoever the decision comes out, it would be right and they will stick to it."<br />

Earlier, in a statement, Fox Star Studios India suspended Mukesh Chhabra from directing his first film in the light of sexual harassment allegations against him.The official Twitter handle of the production house made the announcement, writing, "As a responsible organisation, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously. Hence, Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra, director of our film 'Kizie Aur Manny', which is under production, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him."<br />

No one has the right to violate our beliefs. Chardham, especially Kedarnath, is the most important and people believe in it," Garima Dasauni, an AICC member, told a news agency.</p>

<p>While objecting a kissing scene between the lead pair in the movie, she said that a warning should be issued to the makers that they could not play with our beliefs."We will send a letter to the Prime Minister and the board to find a solution to the problem," she added.</p>

<p>There seems to be no end to problems for Abhishek Kapoor's much talked about film 'Kedarnath'. At first, the director who is also the co-producer of the film got embroiled in a legal battle with co-producer KriArj Entertainment who left the film while it was still being shot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While RSVP films came on board just in time and the film eventually got completed, now the locals of the pilgrim town are raising an objection to the film and alleging that it is factually wrong.&nbsp;</p>

"By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion," Ajay told a news agency.</p>

<p>Objecting to the film depicting the love story of a Muslim porter and a Hindu pilgrim, Ajay said "couldn't the makers of the film find a Hindu character for the lead? " &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Accusing the film of promoting love jihad, the BJP leader said acute resentment prevailed among <em>teertha</em><em> </em>purohits for projecting Kedarnath in such a flippant manner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Warning of large-scale protests in the state if the film was released, Ajay urged the CBFC chairman to impose a ban on the movie produced by Ronnie Screwwala and Pragya Kapoor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Kedarnath' marks Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara's debut in Bollywood. The film is a love story set in the backdrop of the devastating flash floods that took place in Uttarakhand in 2013.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is scheduled to release in theatres on 7th December.&nbsp;</p>

While priests of Kedarnath temple and locals living nearby raised objection soon after the film's teaser came out, on Saturday a senior BJP leader demanded a ban on the film alleging that it hurts the sentiments of Hindus and promotes 'love jihad'. Ajendra Ajay, who is part of BJP's media relations team in Uttarakhand, wrote to Central Board of Film Certification Chairman Prasoon Joshi that despite being set against the backdrop of one of the worst human tragedies, the film directed by Abhishek Kapoor makes fun of Hindu sentiments. Taking exception to a kissing scene between lead pair Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan featured in the film's teaser and a tagline in its poster reading 'Love is a Pilgrimage', the BJP leader alleged that it was an attack on the Hindu religion as Kedarnath represents the faith of crores of Hindus. "By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion," Ajay told a news agency. Objecting to the film depicting the love story of a Muslim porter and a Hindu pilgrim, Ajay said "couldn't the makers of the film find a Hindu character for the lead? " Accusing the film of promoting love jihad, the BJP leader said acute resentment prevailed among teertha purohits for projecting Kedarnath in such a flippant manner. Warning of large-scale protests in the state if the film was released, Ajay urged the CBFC chairman to impose a ban on the movie produced by Ronnie Screwwala and Pragya Kapoor. 'Kedarnath' marks Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara's debut in Bollywood. <p>Protests demanding a ban on the film have already taken placed in Kotdwar and Rudraprayag- towns in Uttarakhand- demanding a ban on the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Fox Star studios (Hindi) fired casting director Mukesh Chhabra from his project, 'Kizie Aur Manny',&nbsp;starring Sushant Singh Rajput, following reports of sexual harassment against him.</p>

<p>The charges against Chhabra were levelled by two budding actresses a couple of days back.</p>

<p>“As a responsible organization, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously hence Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra, director of our film, Kizzie Aur Manny, which is under production, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him,” read a statement on the Twitter handle of Fox Star Hindi.</p>

<p>One of the actresses accusing the director&nbsp;said that Chhabra asked the girl to do a scene from the movie where the boy and the girl were hugging each other. The scene was to be explained by the director.<br />

According to the complainant, the director grabbed her and started feeling her, after a while, he pulled himself away and started apologising vehemently. The actress switched to engineering after the incident.</p>

<p>In response to the allegations brimming up against him, the director said, ''It has been years of hard work and I have been around in the industry. It is unfortunate that people are resorting to name calling and making wild allegations. Hard work and sweat cannot be erased by making false accusations. I deny any such incident took place. If anyone is indulging in rumour mongering and mischievous slandering, I will take every possible legal action to protect my reputation.”</p>
