<p>Global icon, multi-award winning actor, producer and women’s equality advocate, Shah Rukh Khan, will be awarded La Trobe University’s highest accolade during his visit to Australia for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.&nbsp;</p>

<p>La Trobe is the first Australian University to award Mr Khan with an Honorary Doctor of Letters (honoris causa), in recognition of his efforts to support underprivileged children, his unwavering dedication to the fight for women’s empowerment through MEER Foundation and his unparalleled achievements in the Indian entertainment industry.</p>

<p>Meer Foundation is a philanthropic foundation named after Shah Rukh Khan’s father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan which aims to effect change at ground level and works to build a world that empowers women. One of the key focus areas under women empowerment has been to support the cause of acid attack survivors. The Foundation provides support to women victims of acid attacks and major burn injuries through a 360-degree approach that helps them with their medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training as well as rehabilitation and livelihood support.</p>

<p>La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Dewar, said Mr Khan’s philanthropic leadership closely aligns with the University’s values. “Mr Khan is a champion of societal change whose efforts to support the equality of women in India reflect La Trobe’s values of inclusiveness, equity and social justice. In the past eight years we have been proud to host India's iconic film stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Rajkumar Hirani with the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne at La Trobe”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mr Khan said having his humanitarian endeavours recognised for the first time in Australia was a great honour. “I’m proud to be conferred with a great University like La Trobe which has a long-standing relationship with Indian culture and impressive track record in advocating for women’s equality. I feel truly privileged to receive this Honorary Doctorate and I would like to sincerely thank La Trobe for choosing to recognise my achievements in such a humbling way.”</p>

SRK was slated to feature in a number of feature films but sources close to the actor state that post the debacle of his last release 'Zero', the actor is taking time to reassess the scripts he has in hand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Usually, what happens is when your one film is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and I get involved within 3-4 months. But this time I am just not feeling like...My heart doesn't allow me to..I just felt that I should rather take time out, watch films, listen to stories and read more books. Even my kids are in their college stage...my daughter is going to college and my son is about to finish his studies. So I just want to spend more time with my family," the actor told a film magazine recently.&nbsp;</p>

Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan to voice Mufasa, Simba in 'The Lion King' Hindi version

<p>Shah Rukh Khan is all set to be interviewed by famous talk-show host David Letterman. After retiring from his hugely popular late night show, the comedian-chat show host has been hosting a chat show on Netflix which is called 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Khan will be part of the show as his guest and reports suggest the episode will be shot in New York on 16th May in front of a live audience. Khan is likely to talk about his next production venture Bard Of Blood which will be streamed exclusively on Netflix later this year. Based on Bilal SIddiqui's book, the show features Emnran Hashmi in the lead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There hasn't been any confirmation from Netflix or Khan about the actor's appearance on the show yet but social media is already buzzing with excitement as SRK is going to be the first Indian celebrity to feature in the show that has in the past featured celebrities like Barack Obama, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai and Jerry Seinfeld.</p>

<p>Letterman has hosted late night television talk shows for 33 years. Earlier he has hosted the 'Late Night with David Letterman' on NBC and 'Late Show with David Letterman' on CBS.&nbsp;</p>

After retiring from his hugely popular late night show, the comedian-chat show host has been hosting a chat show on Netflix which is called 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction'. Khan will be part of the show as his guest and reports suggest the episode will be shot in New York on 16th May in front of a live audience. Khan is likely to talk about his next production venture Bard Of Blood which will be streamed exclusively on Netflix later this year. Based on Bilal SIddiqui's book, the show features Emnran Hashmi in the lead. There hasn't been any confirmation from Netflix or Khan about the actor's appearance on the show yet but social media is already buzzing with excitement as SRK is going to be the first Indian celebrity to feature in the show that has in the past featured celebrities like Barack Obama, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai and Jerry Seinfeld. Letterman has hosted late night television talk shows for 33 years. Earlier he has hosted the 'Late Night with David Letterman' on NBC and 'Late Show with David Letterman' on CBS.

<p>Looking back, he said: "When it went wrong, I felt bad. That it got rejected by so many people... when you make a film like that for three years and it goes wrong... you get not depressed or anything but...I didn`t want to see it. I am going to see it after three months. Maybe I will be able to figure out when I am away what went wrong with it."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor also revealed that he hasn't signed any new project as nothing exciting has come up so far. "I haven`t decided what I will do next. I thought I will take a few months off and try and work on what I want to do because it`s very important for me to be most excited about it. I have worked for 30 years, I work 16 hours a day, so if it doesn`t excite you in the morning, you should not wake up.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"At my stage, when I have worked in over 80 films, have done some satisfactory roles and have made a career out of what I do, I should be like I don`t want to get up and go if it`s not going to be an absolutely, stunning, scintillating and exciting day as an actor. So, right now I don`t have anything that`s stunning, scintillating and exciting, If I will have it, I will start working on it."</p>

<p>For the moment, Khan is enjoying all the love that his Chinese fans have been showering him. The actor was overwhelmed to get a "warm and happy welcome", as he tweeted "I am red all over".&nbsp;</p>

Anjum said asking question about 'Saare Jahan Se Achha' was "dukhti rag pe haath rakhna" (hitting a raw nerve) but made an observation about how often makers blame everything else but the script when a film fails.&nbsp;<br />

"This whole practice and culture of postmortem, of analysing what went wrong hasn't really caught on. What happens then is, there are knee-jerk reactions rather than responses even from the makers," he said.&nbsp;<br />

" Oh, it (the failure) could be because of the space and hence we put two into two together. Oh it's because the time wasn't right, nobody wants to see a star in a disabled person's role.' It could also well be that there was a problem with the DNA of the script."<br />

<p>He may be a superstar for his fans and critics alike but as per actor Shah Rukh Khan, there are moments in his life when he feels like a "loser", something that only pushes him to work harder.</p>

<p>"I feel like a loser over everything. I was with Aamir Khan the other day. And he asked me 'Why are you like this, Shah? Why do you think this way?' I got to know after talking that he was also thinking the same way. He wasn't asking me out of surprise, he wanted to know the answers for himself," Shah Rukh said on Friday at the trailer launch of his upcoming film "Zero".</p>

<p>The 53-year-old superstar believes it is "always important to have lack of over confidence".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Over confidence is worse than feeling like a loser. I feel I work harder when I think I am not good enough. I always feel I'm not good enough. I sometimes joke that I don't know how to dance, I've five expressions but I genuinely believe them, that I'm not good at everything, so I've to work harder," he said.</p>

<p>Shah Rukh plays the role of a vertically-challenged person in Aanand L Rai's film, which is set to be released on December 21.</p>

<p>He said when he was shooting for the film there were moments of doubts which he believes every creative person experiences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"All of us had moments where we used to wonder if this is right, should we do this or not? There are so many issues actors and stars have, me the most. I'm insecure at times, overconfident at times, happy and extremely sad at times.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I'm happy with what I've done and I am happier and even sadder what I shouldn't have done and what has gone out of my hands, what is coming to my hands and all these things come together and make you feel loved when you do the right film."</p>

<p>When asked how he deals with stress in his life, Shah Rukh said stress and anxiety will always be there at every stage in one's life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"There will be stress in life. I am 53 today and half my life is over, I am in a profession where every Friday life changes. Some of my films have done well, some have tanked. Some things have went well, some haven't. It does feel bad. Maybe out of 70 films of mine only 30 have worked. It is not that there is success rate. But at the end, everything goes well," he said.</p>

<p>The "Jab Harry Met Sejal" actor said he usually spends his birthday meeting friends and fans.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"One should not own anything. I don't own my birthday also. I don't get to be with family much. I usually have bath, meet friends, media and fans. It feels good that everyone loves me so much."&nbsp;</p>

On Wednesday night, film's leading man and co-producer Shah Rukh Khan released two posters of the film featuring him and the two leading ladies- Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.&nbsp;</p>

The producer, who has also backed Sushant Singh Rajput-Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Kedarnath', said going forward he wants to be more involved in each and every project he is a part of.<br />

"This time around there is no compulsion. I can do three movies a year, or six. Telling the stories I want to tell is most important. That's what I'm going to focus on, bring deeply involved with everything, from cast and script. That's the plan," he said.<br />

Ronnie was speaking on the sidelines of the 20th edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, where his 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' had its India premiere.<br />

"If you look at the script and read it, at that stage you might get question marks- what, why and how is this happening. For me to work with Vasan in the long term was very important. I understood the vision and decided to back it.<br />

"With this kind of movie you think what more we can do to make it more mainstream. So the music came on to some different level and the cast was already perfect," he added.<br />

The film chronicles the story of a young man born without pain receptors who longs to defeat 100 opponents in a kumite tournament.<br />

<p>As the Indian Premier League inches towards its final day this season, Shah Rukh Khan’s team players were having fun at the expense of their own boss. After regaining their position in the IPL standings chart owing to back-to-back wins, Kolkata team members pulled a Shah Rukh Khan style when they chose to display their acting skills.&nbsp;</p>

<p>From the team, cricketers like Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Dinesh Karthik and Piyush Chawla tried their hands at saying Khan’s Bollywood dialogues. While some were quite eloquent with it, others had problems remembering the lines. &nbsp;</p>

From the team, cricketers like Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Dinesh Karthik and Piyush Chawla tried their hands at saying Khan’s Bollywood dialogues. While some were quite eloquent with it, others had problems remembering the lines. <p>Several eyebrows were raised from different quarters when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) announced Dinesh Karthik as its new skipper, replacing Gautam Gambhir, for the XIth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).</p>

<p>However, his splendid knock in recently concluded Nidahas Trophy, which took India to an impossible victory, has ended all the speculations being raised on his batting ability.&nbsp;</p>

<p>His brilliant cameo of 29 runs off just 8 balls stole all the limelight as he hit a last-ball six to power India to a four-wicket win.</p>

<p>But in IPL, it will be Karthik&#39;s consistency to score runs and cricketing experience which KKR will be counting on.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-time champions will be entering the upcoming edition with lightest squad of only 19 players making their way into the franchise.</p>

But in IPL, it will be Karthik's consistency to score runs and cricketing experience which KKR will be counting on.
