<p>With Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top and Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen coming down the order, SRH perhaps has the most-daunting batting top five this season, with Vettori sending warning signs to all teams to remain beware.</p>
<p>"Whatever ground we go to, we have an understanding that the batting team is going to be aggressive. The only thing that can mitigate that is the pitch, but most times, the pitches in IPL are very flat,&rdquo; Vettori said at the pre-game presser.</p>
<p>Vettori said the teams know what to expect from the IPL venues as they prepare strategies accordingly. The former New Zealand captain added that team skipper Pat Cummins cleared the agenda earlier, informing everyone of the template they wish to follow this season.</p>
<p>"When you come to these grounds, you know exactly what to expect. You know how the batsmen are going come against you. It's quite&hellip;..maybe not fun is the right word; it's a good challenge for a bowling group to try and work their way through that.</p>
<p>"That's what Pat [Cummins, the captain] addressed the bowling group the other day. He said the expectation is on the batters to do all the work, score the runs, and the bowlers can sort of feed into that. <p>SunRisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins was unperturbed with his side's loss in the first qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday (May 21). Cummins said that his team has earned the right to have bad days and still win the tournament.</p>

<p>"I guess we have earned the right to have one of those days and still win tournaments," Cummins said after the game. "Not our day but good thing we have another crack at it [qualifying for the final]."</p>

<p>"A bit off the pace," Cummins said when asked about his team's performance. "Think you have those days in T20 cricket. Even when you are a very good side, you have some days where it doesn't quite work out."</p>

<p>"Few guys didn't get off to starts so we were probably short of where we wanted to be with the bat. And then yeah, couldn't get it done with the ball. Kolkata bowled really well. That wicket got better but there was a little bit in it early. But it happens," he added.</p>

<p>SRH, however, have another shot at making it to the final by virtue of their second place finish in the league stage. They will play the winner of RCB vs RR eliminator in the second qualifier. SRH will play the match at Chennai and Cummins was happy with the change in venue.</p>

<p>The big-hitting Aussie, who comes to bat in the middle order, acknowledged his shortcomings where he was not able to score runs in the post-powerplay period and said it's time for someone else to come in.</p>

<p>"We have had a pretty big deficiency straight after the powerplay, which has been my area of strength over the last couple of seasons. I felt like I wasn't contributing in a positive way with the bat, and with the results and the position we find ourselves on the table, I think it's a good time to give someone else an opportunity to show their wares, and hopefully, someone can make that spot their own."</p>

<p>“With the World Cup coming around the corner and, hopefully, being involved in that squad and batting at the top of the order…it gives me good preparation here in the IPL to try and get some runs and have a little bit of form going into the World Cup,” Head said.</p>

<p>The left-handed batter made headlines this season, with the game against Mumbai Indians being the highlight, where he hit 62 off 24 balls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It was nice to get some runs in the first game, and honestly, I didn’t really have too many expectations,” Head said of his performance against Mumbai.</p>

<p>Besides, Head believes he has come a long way as a player, and with his style of play, he’s ticked a few boxes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I’ve come a long way as a player. I guess owning a little bit of the style I want to play and the way I have played overseas too, I’ve been able to tick a few boxes. Now, the pressure is to continue to play the way I am playing,” Head said.</p>

<p>“I think in all formats, I need to make sure that I go back to what simplifies everything, which is my technique and my blueprint,” he continued.</p>

<p>Head feels staying fresh ahead of the T20 World Cup will be key to his performance for Australia in the 20-team tournament in the Caribbean and the USA, starting June 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I think it is important for me to make sure that I’m mentally fresh throughout the IPL and continuing to work on my game, and making sure that I am ready for the World Cup when that time comes. But I am feeling like I am prepared and ready at the moment,” the left-handed opener added.</p>

<p>The batter, who has already hit the fastest fifty for his team (off 18 balls) earlier in the season, also thanked former cricketers Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh for his development as a batter.</p>
