The authorities carried out the autopsy of four people who were killed in the clashes which broke out in Sambhal City in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.&nbsp;

As per the autopsy, the wounds on the dead bodies of the four killed were not from the bullets of the ammunition used by the police of Uttar Pradesh, said Moradabad divisional commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh on Tuesday (Nov 26).

However, no bullets were recovered from the bodies of the people during the postmortem, Singh said.

The statement of the commissioner came after allegations were made that four people were killed in police firing.

Meanwhile, a local police official said that as per the reports Ayan had a bullet wound in his abdomen which had damaged his liver. The other three suffered wounds on the chest, he said.&nbsp;

He said that antemortem injuries were confirmed on three men in the reports. He added that those injuries were on the knees and elbows of Bilal, the forehead, elbows and knees of Naeem and the knees, hands and legs of Kaif.

He added that the photographs of the bullet wounds and the autopsy reports will be sent for forensic examination to find out which bullet killed them.

According to the local authorities, the police officials in Sambhal only had anti-riot equipment like rubber bullets and tear gas with them.

Sambhal violence: Police firing ruled out as cause of deaths in autopsy

Canadian authorities on Monday (Nov 4) suspended a police officer after a video went viral on social media showing him participating in a pro-Khalistan protest outside a Hindu temple in Brampton.

Local media reported that Harinder Sohi was suspended by Peel Regional Police “in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act," citing Media Relations Officer Richard Chin.

In the viral video, Sohi was seen carrying a Khalistani flag and chanting anti-India slogans. Sohi has been serving as a Sergeant of the Peel Regional Police. A probe has been launched and further details will be shared concerning the circumstances surrounding this incident, Richard was quoted as saying by CBC News.

All nine escapees, aged between 15 and 17, were nabbed within approximately two hours on Monday (September 18) morning.

David Beohm, a public information officer with the Pennsylvania State Police, said that four of the escapees were exhausted and "basically gave up" at 5:45 am, at a random residence on Oak Grove Road in Morgantown, Pennsylvania.

The homeowner promptly alerted the authorities.

A fight-out between rival gangs at a women’s prison in Honduras left 46&nbsp;dead with most burned to death. The death toll rose from 41 to 46, said the&nbsp;prosecutor's office on Wednesday after&nbsp;the first bodies were handed over to mourning families for burial.

Of the previously reported&nbsp;41 dead, 15 were either shot or stabbed, while the rest of the victims were burned to death at the prison in Tamara, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) northwest of the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa.

At least seven inmates were being treated at a Tegucigalpa hospital, Yuri Mora, the spokesperson for Honduras’ national police investigation agency, said on Tuesday, according to AP news agency.

“The forensic teams that are removing bodies confirm they have counted 41,” Mora had said on Tuesday. However, it is still unclear if&nbsp;all the victims were inmates.

<h2>Prez shocked</h2>

President Xiomara Castro said she was shocked by “monstrous murders of women” and added that the riot was “planned by maras with the knowledge and acquiescence of security authorities.”

“I am going to take drastic measures!” Castro wrote in her social media accounts.

The country's Deputy Security Minister, Julissa Villanueva, declared a state of emergency and promised to crack down on the violence.

She also authorised the "immediate intervention" of firefighters, police and military.

"The loss of human lives will not be tolerated," Villanueva said.

<h2>Barrio 18 gang</h2>

Local media reported that the prisoners belonged to the infamous Barrio 18 gang who broke into a cell block and shot other inmates or set them afire.

Hardly any prison rules are observed in the violence-hit country as inmates are said to wield wider control of the prison.

They were also apparently able to smuggle in guns and other weapons, a recurring problem in Honduran prisons.

A few relatives of the deceased prisoners said that the inmates in the prison had told them that they have been living in fear of the Barrio 18 gang.

“They (Barrio 18 members) were out of control, they were fighting with them all the time. That was the last time we talked,” Johanna Paola Soriano Euceda told AP, who was waiting for news about her mother Maribel Euceda, and sister, Karla Soriano—both serving sentences for drug trafficking.

Ruckus was witnessed outside the prison after another group of dozens of anxious, angry relatives gathered outside.

“We are here dying of anguish, of pain ... we don’t have any information,” said Salomon Garca, whose daughter is an inmate at the facility.

The Central American country is known for corruption and gang violence, which have infiltrated government institutions and seen the homicide rate soar, reports BBC.

As reported by AFP, Castellanos said authorities were investigating whether prisoners had lit their mattresses as part of an "escape attempt" or whether the riot was provoked "to cover some other situation." He made no mention of whether any prisoners actually escaped.

A report by Caracol Radio said more than 40 people had been injured. There were 180 inmates in the prison section affected by the fire.

Castellanos praised the efforts of prison guards, some of whom were injured, to control the blaze and help prisoners to safety. He said that without their intervention "the result would have been worse."

Outgoing President Ivan Duque sent a tweet offering his solidarity with relatives of the victims.

"We regret the events that occurred in the prison in Tulua, Valle del Cauca," Duque said.

"I have given instructions to clarify this terrible situation. My solidarity is with the families of the victims," he added.

Fatal prison riots are not uncommon in Latin America. In Colombia's neighbour Ecuador, nearly 400 prisoners have been killed in six riots since early 2021. Colombia's prison system has a capacity of 97,000 inmates but is overpopulated by some 16,000, according to INPEC.

China and Solomon Islands are negotiating a security agreement to establish a Chinese military presence on the island, according to a leaked draft report.

According to the draft security agreement circulating on social media on Thursday, it would allow China to “protect the safety of Chinese personnel and major projects” in the Pacific, less than 2,000km off Australia’s coast.

The leaked document says the Solomon Islands, which lies east of Papua New Guinea, could “request China to send police, armed and military personnel and other law enforcement agencies” to the country.

The ABC news channel confirmed the authenticity of the draft report shared on social media.
