‘Baahubali’ star Rana Daggubati will now be seen in a whole new role as he is set to play a threat in the upcoming film ‘Housefull 4’. Screenwriter-director Farhad Samji revealed details about Rana’s role in the film.&nbsp;

Rana, had earlier this year, replaced Nana Patekar in the film after he was replaced because of #MeToo claims against him. Actress Tanushree Dutta had accused Nana of sexual misconduct while shooting for a film 10 years back.&nbsp;

In an interview to IANS, Farhad said, "I think it is too early to talk about his role. It's an important role. He is playing the threat in the film.”

The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol.&nbsp;

Rana is not the only replacement in the film as in October, filmmaker Sajid Khan also had to step down as its director after he was accused of sexual harassment.

On the change, Farhad said, "It would have been difficult for me had I not written the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Whenever I narrate, I do it like a stand-up act. All the actors... even producers make it a point that I am present on sets. I was in Jaisalmer while the shooting was happening there. So, it is not a big jump for me. But yeah, as a director, there are so many departments that I have to look up to like costumes, timing, actors and all. I had worked with Sajid Nadiadwala (producer) before also in 'Housefull 3' so, he was also there with me.”

‘Housefull 3’ was co-directed by Sajid Samji and Farhad.

Talking about the pressure of directing all by himself, he said: "Had it been three directors, then also there would have been pressure. The same goes for directing solo. Pressure is there because of it a big franchise and is releasing on Diwali. "It is a period comedy... something that we are doing for the first time. The look, clothes and scale of the film are done on a different level. That's the challenge. For me, filmmaking is passion.

"It's been about 17 years since I joined the industry. I have written for around 40 films. This is what I have been craving for... to get bigger films, good films with a good cast. I am getting everything on a platter. I have to do justice to it."

The 20th edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Festival has added southern star Rana Daggubati and filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar to its board of trustees. 
 
Their induction comes days after filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has been accused of shielding director Vikas Bahl in an alleged sexual harassment case, stepped down as the board member. 
 
Rana said his aim will be to bridge the gap between the national and regional language cinema. He said, "Be it Malayalam cinema, Telugu cinema or Tamil cinema, some of the best independent films are made in these languages and it will be my focus to make such work be noticed on a national platform." 
 
Nambiar will curate the best of South Indian Cinema for the MAMI Year-Round Programme.

"Despite the number of screens escalating every year, the access to films from down south remains limited... I hope with this responsibility I am able to showcase some of the best regional cinema from down south," he said. 
 
This year the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival will be commemorating the life and incredible career of actor Sridevi, who died in February this year. 
 
The festival will honour her with the MAMI Tribute for her exceptional contribution to Indian cinema. 
 
The festival will also be honouring the renowned legacy and work of iconic Swedish auteur Ingmar Bergman. 
 
The Excellence In Cinema Award will be bestowed to filmmaker Shyam Bengal for his contribution to Indian cinema. 
 
The opening film of this year's edition will be Vasan Bala's "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota", which bagged People's Choice Award in the Midnight Madness section at Toronto International Film Festival. 
 
The film chronicles the story of a young man born without pain receptors who longs to defeat 100 opponents in a kumite tournament.

Voicing for Thanos, a villain so powerful that some of the biggest superheroes have a tough time dealing with, was an exciting experience," added the actor, who has finished dubbing for the movie.

"This year marks a milestone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it turns 10 and to add to the excitement, we are releasing Avengers: Infinity War&nbsp- the biggest superhero crossover one has ever seen," said Bikram Duggal, Executive Director and Head, Studio Entertainment, Disney India. 
 
Duggal added, "We are offering our fans in South India an opportunity to experience the grandeur of the movie in a language that they prefer".
