Himachal Pradesh is on high alert as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts an intense spell of monsoon activity across the state from July 19 to July 23, 2026. Following a relatively subdued start to the monsoon, weather conditions are expected to deteriorate significantly, with a Red Alert issued for parts of the state on July 20 and 21.

The Central Water Commission (CWC) has confirmed that the water level touched 204.60 metres at the Old Railway Bridge around 7 pm on Sunday, and crossed the warning level of 204.50 metres, according to the PTI.&nbsp;When the water level reaches 205.33 metres, it marks a ‘danger’ and evacuation procedures are initiated after the water level crosses 206 metres. “In view of the quantity of water released from Hathnikund Barrage today, 17th August, and heavy rainfall in the Upper Yamuna area, it is informed that the water level at Delhi Railway Bridge may cross 206.00 around 02 AM on 19th August, 2025,” the advisory said.&nbsp;Meanwhile, the Yamuna River in Delhi is likely to surge to 206 metres by early Tuesday (August 19, 2025), and it will surpass the danger mark of 205.33 metres, as per the advisory issued by the Central Water Commission (CWC).
