Priya 'wink' Prakash Varrier is more famous than Mark Zuckerberg on Instagram!

<p>Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a stay order on all the pending cases against actor Priya Prakash Varrier and said that no criminal proceedings to take place against the actress until further hearing.</p>

<p>The court&#39;s order comes after Varrier and director Omar Lulu moved the apex court over a case registered against her film &quot;Oru Adaar Love&quot; in Telangana under Section 295A.</p>

<p>In the petition, the actress stated that fringe elements have &quot;misunderstood the lyrics of the song&quot; which they claim allegedly offended their religious sentiments.</p>

<p>The petition further said that it adversely affected the petitioners right to life, liberty and freedom of expression under Articles 19(1)(a), 19(1)(g) and 21 of the Constitution.</p>

<p>Artists have the right to express themselves in a lawful manner, the petition stated, adding that the legality of the content of the film and the certification on the same can only be dealt with under law by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as prescribed under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.</p>

<p>FIRs cause nothing but &quot;hindrance in the freedom of speech and expression&quot; granted under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution and the same is an outright abuse of the process of law, the petition said.</p>

<p>Rs. 1.5 crores have already been spent on the movie, it added.</p>

<p>The complainant alleged that the song of the film &lsquo;manikya malaraya poovi&rsquo; hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Varrier became an internet sensation after a teaser song from her debut film &#39;Oru Adaar Love&#39; went viral on social media.</p>

<p>A police complaint against Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier and <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/oru-adaar-love-director-refuses-to-withdraw-song-from-film-32914">film director Omar Lulu</a> has been lodged by a local organisation for allegedly hurting sentiments of the Muslim community through a song in their upcoming movie &quot;Oru Adaar Love&quot;.</p>

<p>&quot;We have received a complaint stating that the religious feelings of a particular community are hurt. We would bring it to the notice of senior officers and act according to their directions,&quot; Hashmi said.</p>

<p>A group of people belonging to the Janjagran Samithi filed a complaint against the actress and the director at Jinsi police station.</p>

<p>&quot;This is a deliberate effort to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims. We demand that a case under IPC section 295 of the IPC should be registered against actress Priya Varrier, director Omar Lulu and producers of the film,&quot; Samithi president Mohsin Ahmed told PTI.</p>

<p>IPC Section 295 pertains to injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class.</p>

<p>The Hyderabad Police had on Wednesday registered a case against the film director on a complaint that the song &quot;Manikya Malaraya poovi&quot; in the film written and directed by Lulu had an &quot;objectionable&quot; reference to Prophet Muhammad&#39;s wife.</p>

<p>The Mumbai-based Raza Academy had on Wednesday written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) seeking blocking of the video of the song for &quot;hurting&quot; religious sentiments of Muslims.</p>
