Ryan student murder: Bus conductor to file case against police officers who 'framed' him

In a sensational twist in the killing of the class II student of Ryan International School, Pradyuman Thakur, the CBI has claimed that the Gurgaon Police framed the school bus conductor and planted a knife on him, declaring the case as solved within hours, a The Times of India (TOI) report said.

Sources told the TOI that the police resorted to framing the bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, since it was under tremendous pressure to solve the case.

The Times of India reported that the CBI had established in its two-month-long investigation that the knife belonged to the main accused in the case, a 16-year-old Class XI student of the same school. A CBI officer told TOI that the knife was purchased by the juvenile from a local shop, brought inside the school and was the only knife which was recovered. He added that the accused student on Thursday guided the investigating agency to the shop from where he had purchased the knife.

This is the only knife which was recovered and so the claim of Gurgaon police that Ashok Kumar brought it inside the school and used it to kill the boy has no basis whatsoever,&quot; TOI quoted the CBI officer as saying.

While accusing the bus conductor, the Gurgaon Police had said that the school bus conductor had obtained the knife from the toolkit of the bus and was cleaning it in the washroom when Pradyuman came in, the TOI report said. They had claimed that the conductor tried to sexually assault the seven-year-old.&nbsp;

The doctor who had performed the post-mortem had earlier ruled out sexual assault.

The Times of India report states that while the CBI said the murder weapon was recovered from the flush in the washroom where it had been thrown by the student, the Gurgaon Police was silent over where the weapon was recovered from.

Ryan student murder: Gurgaon Police planted knife on conductor, says report

The father of Pradyuman Thakur, the Class II student of Gurugram&#39;s Ryan International School who was murdered inside the school premises has asked for <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/class-xi-student-murdered-pradyuman-wanted-exams-postponed-cbi-23720">the main accused in the case, a Class XI student who is reportedly a little above 16 years</a>, to be tried as an adult.

Pradyuman&#39;s father Barun Thakur told The Times of India (TOI) that the teenager detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be tried as an adult. He believes only a criminal mind could have carried out the crime. He added that if the teenager was tried as a juvenile, then the school should be prosecuted as well.

The CBI produced the teenager before the Gurgaon&nbsp;juvenile&nbsp;court yesterday which sent the boy to a correction home in Faridabad, TOI reported. He was taken to the CBI headquarters for questioning today.

The court has allowed the CBI to question the student from 10 am to 5 pm over a period of three days. The student will again be produced before the court on Saturday.

Barun Thakur told the Times of India that he found it hard to believe that the accused murdered Pradyuman because he wanted exams to be postponed. He also said that he had doubted that the bus conductor who was arrested the day Pradyuman was murdered on September 8 had committed the crime which is why he had asked for the CBI to take over the case from the Haryana Police.

Advocate Harish Malhotra says that if the CBI proves the teenager is above 16, he will face trial as an adult.&nbsp;

After the Nirbhaya gangrape in 2012, in which one of the attackers was a minor, Parliament passed an amendment to a law which now allow juveniles aged between 16 and 18 accused in heinous crimes to be tried as adults.

A CBI officer told TOI that the accused bragged to students that he would get the exams postponed so that they did not need to study.

The top officials of the school have already been arrested after a report glaring lapses were found in the security infrastructure of the school including non-functional CCTV cameras, non-verification of staff and lack of separate toilets for staff like drivers and conductors.&nbsp;
