He called for the construction of concrete bunkers alongside every residential house located along the LoC in order to provide safe cover to the people, especially to children and women, against the periodic Indian shelling from across the border, reports said.

Heavy shelling by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch

A militant was among the four people who were killed in a firing incident in South Kashmir&rsquo;s Shopian district on Sunday night, police said.&nbsp;

The incident took place around 8 pm when ultras fired on a security forces mobile vehicle check post near Pohan area.

The militant was identified as one Shahid Ahmad Dar and a weapon was also recovered from him, the Indian Army said in a statement. Besides the militant, bodies of three other people who were killed in the gunfire were also found.&nbsp;

The Army said that the three people killed were over ground workers/accomplices in the car, who were accompanying the terrorists. &nbsp;

The media report added that in 2017, India lost about 32 soldiers along the LoC whereas Pakistan estimated lost between 130-140 soldiers.&nbsp;

The Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Sigh Chouhan has promised to pay an amount of Rs 1 crore to the wife of Rifleman Ramavatar who lost his life in ceasefire violation on Sunday.&nbsp;

The chief minister said that the soldier sacrificed his life for the safety of the&nbsp;nation and that his wife is the daughter of the entire state.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The compensation will be given to the soldier&#39;s wife as &quot; samman rashi&quot;. Also, the parents of the deceased soldier will be given Rs 5,000 per month for life, the CM said.
