An Indian Army soldier was injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector on Sunday evening.

The injured soldier has been shifted to Army hospital in Poonch.

The Pakistan army opened fire on the Indian side at around 5: 25 pm. In the firing that lasted for 15 minutes, villages and posts along the Karmarha sector in Poonch sector were the target.

The Indian forces also retaliated but there was no report of any casualties.

Since the beginning of 2018, the ceasefire violation claimed the lives of 20 people, including 11 security personnel and nine civilians.
