Representatives from JSD Supply claimed they were unaware of the lawsuit, while Polymer 80 did not respond to inquiries from Action News.</p>

<p>There has been yet another mass shooting in the US. A shooting in southwest Philadelphia on Monday evening (July 3) resulted in the tragic deaths of five&nbsp;individuals. The victims were aged&nbsp;59, 22, and 20, and one unidentified individual was estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Two minors, aged 2 and 13, also sustained injuries, according to police. Both of them are believed to be in a stable condition. A suspect has been arrested, and authorities have recovered a weapon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During a press conference, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw revealed that all the victims were male. The suspect was arrested without incident in an alley. Notably, the individual was found in possession of a bulletproof vest, multiple magazines, an "AR-type rifle," a handgun, and a police scanner.</p>

<p>"At this point, all we know is that this person decided to leave their home and target individuals," Outlaw was quoted as saying by wlwt.com.</p>

<h2><strong>One more individual arrested</strong></h2>

<p>Initially, the police reported a total of eight shooting victims, but commissioner Outlaw later revised the number to six.</p>

<p>Another individual who allegedly returned gunfire at the primary shooter was taken into custody, and a firearm was confiscated from that person.</p>

<p>Within a short time, the police transported several victims to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Additional victims arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.</p>

<p>No shots were fired by the officers during the suspect's arrest, as confirmed by the police.</p>

<h2><strong>Mayor expresses concern</strong></h2>

<p>Mayor Jim Kenney expressed his distress over the shooting on Twitter. He wrote, “Horrified by the reports of a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia. My heart is with the loved ones and families of everyone involved, and I send my prayers to the victims.”</p>

<p>She was captured in a viral video as she awaited her turn to be called during the ceremony held last Friday. When her name was announced, she made her way across the stage towards the school's principal, spontaneously breaking into dance along the way.</p>

<p>According to a report in The Philadelphia Inquirer, the school officials had previously instructed students to inform their families that cheering or applause would not be permitted for individual students when their names were called.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Abdul-Rahman stated that an assistant principal had told the girls just before the ceremony that they could showcase their personal style while walking.</p>

<p>Despite this, when Abdul-Rahman briefly danced over to the principal, Mesi claimed that she had caused laughter in the crowd and, as a result, would not receive her diploma.</p>

<p>Abdul-Rahman's grandmother, who initially shared a video of the incident on Instagram, acknowledged that the graduates and attendees had been instructed to maintain silence."Everyone respected that," she wrote.</p>

<p>"But if someone didn't, how can you punish these young girls for something someone in the audience did?"</p>

<p>A video of the ceremony shared on Twitter stoked massive outrage.</p>

<p>"Appalling that she was not given her diploma," one wrote. "Outrageous behavior from the school."</p>

<p>"I can’t even make sense of this, she’s excited and she should be," another commented. "She did nothing wrong. I don’t understand this world today."</p>

<p>Others, meanwhile, fully supported the school, claiming the student "knew the rules" and flaunted them anyway.</p>

<p>In a statement last month, Philadelphia health officials said that the city has been massively impacted by the epidemic.</p>

<p>Preliminary investigation suggests that a confrontation between two groups resulted in firing. One suspect has been arrested, while another is still on the large.</p>

<p>The United States has witnessed over 200 mass shootings so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The statistic becomes all the more damning when one realises there have been more mass shootings than days in 2023. The archive tracked more than 647 mass shootings in 2022 while the number stood at 690 in 2021.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reportedly,&nbsp;Jodi Brown along with her family and friends was visiting the amusement park when during a meet and greet, multiple costumed characters purportedly refused to shake hands with her five-year-old daughter as well as niece.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident was captured on camera and since then, the nine-second clip has gone viral on the realms of social media platforms.</p>

<p>The video shows the Sesame Place employee dressed in the character of Rosita high-fiving the other visitors, who happen to be white.</p>

<p>However, by the time the dressed character reaches Jodi’s daughter and niece, it pulls its hands away from the girl’s outstretched hands and gestures ‘no’, whilst walking away from the spot, leaving the little girls confused.&nbsp;</p>

A black family based in Baltimore, United States, has filed a $25 million class action lawsuit for racial discrimination against Sesame Place, an amusement park in Philadelphia inspired by the popular Sesame Street show. Reportedly, Jodi Brown along with her family and friends was visiting the amusement park when during a meet and greet, multiple costumed characters purportedly refused to shake hands with her five-year-old daughter as well as niece. The incident was captured on camera and since then, the nine-second clip has gone viral on the realms of social media platforms. The video shows the Sesame Place employee dressed in the character of Rosita high-fiving the other visitors, who happen to be white. However, by the time the dressed character reaches Jodi’s daughter and niece, it pulls its hands away from the girl’s outstretched hands and gestures ‘no’, whilst walking away from the spot, leaving the little girls confused. Jodi put the video on her Instagram account and captioned it: I’m going to keep posting this, because this had me hot. We were on our way out of sesame place and the kids wanted to stop to see the characters. THIS DISGUSTING person blatantly told our kids NO then proceeded to hug the little white girl next to us! <p>"Thus, when Officer Mendoza fired the third and fatal shot, he knew the 12-year-old, 5-foot tall, 111-pound Thomas Siderio no longer had a gun and no ability to harm him," Krasner said.</p>

<p>"We have specimens in the academy’s ornithology collection from a kill that happened when lights were first installed on Philadelphia’s city hall tower in 1896," Jason Weckstein, the associate curator of ornithology at Drexel University’s Academy of Natural Sciences said.</p>

<p>Experts believe that the conditions were nearly perfect for heavy migratory flight but the low ceiling of clouds and rain with the bright lights from skyscrapers turned into a recipe for disaster for the birds.</p>

<p>"Conditions were perfect for a heavy migratory flight and imperfect given that there was a low ceiling of clouds and rain," explained Weckstein. "That in combination with Philly’s bright city lights was a disaster for many fall migrant birds winging their way south."</p>

<p>The scientific logic behind this initiative is that during migration, birds use celestial cues to guide themselves, with stars being the biggest help. When birds are unable to spot the stars, they confuse it with bright, artificial city lights. In such cases, the windows become the biggest concern as they usually&nbsp;times show reflections of trees and sky.</p>

<p>This programme will work in two phases, the first one starting from April 01 till May 31, and the second one from August 15 to November 15. People have been urged to switch off their lights in skyscrapers from midnight till 6 am.</p>

<p>The Philadelphia City Council this week formally apologized for the decision in 1985 to drop an improvised bomb on a row house occupied by the MOVE separatist group, a desperate action that resulted in a fire that killed 11 people and destroyed 61 homes.</p>

<p>The resolution, approved on Thursday, marked the first time that the city had formally apologized for the action. The measure, which also calls for an annual day of remembrance on May 13, the anniversary of the bombing, was sponsored by Jamie Gauthier, a city councilwoman who grew up near the West Philadelphia neighborhood where the bombing happened.</p>

<p>“There have been divisions in our city between police and community for decades, and I think if we had done the true work of acknowledging what happened with MOVE and with other acts of police violence, and we had really worked on not only the acknowledgment but building better relationships and working towards reconciliation, we wouldn’t find ourselves in the place we are now,” she said in an interview on Friday.</p>

<p>“It was always striking to me that we did this, that our city did this and that no one ever was held accountable,” she added. “I thought that was unconscionable.”</p>
