"Our store is two buildings from the parking garage, and we also have a hotel next to us. People ran inside asking if they could take refuge inside our store," Nguyen, 35, added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sandy Imhoff, who lives in an apartment on the same street, said she fled her home with her two cats when her building began to shudder from the force of the collapse. Imhoff added that everyone in her building was able to evacuate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Online records from the New York City Department of Buildings showed that the parking structure, at the site of the collapse, was cited for 45 violations, including 25 since 2003, many related to its elevators. A filing in 2003 said ceiling slab cracks existed as well as defective concrete with exposed rear cracks. The filing also said that a penalty of $800 was paid for the violation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Adding further problem is that some owners don’t even realise for days that their dogs had chewed on a joint while out on a walk.</p>

<p>A claim made by a guest on comedian Joe Rogan's podcast has set off treasure hunters to New York City's East River to look for potentially valuable prehistoric mammoth bones.&nbsp; Despite a lack of evidence to support the claim, treasure seekers using boats, diving apparatuses and equipped with technology like remote-operated cameras have been searching for the valuable piece of fossil that had allegedly been dumped in the 1940s.</p>

<p>It all began when John Reeves, an Alaskan gold miner, appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience” for an episode that aired December 30.</p>

<p>In that show, he talked about his land, where he has personally unearthed numerous age-old bones and tusks.</p>

<p>Reeves said that under previous ownership, a lot of digging was done in the first half of the 20th century looking for gold, but what was unearthed was a trove of prehistoric mammal remains.</p>

<p>He claimed that some of that material was brought to New York City decades ago to be handed over to the American Museum of Natural History. But in that material, some fossils and bones deemed unsuitable for the museum were later dumped into the river.</p>

<p>Reeves cited a draft of a report put together by three men, including one who worked at the museum, that included a reference to these fossils and bones, reports AP news agency.</p>

<p>“I'm going to start a bone rush," Reeves told Rogan, while reading from the draft that gave out the location: East River Drive, which is now known as the FDR Drive, at around 65th Street.</p>

<p>“We'll see if anybody out there's got a sense of adventure," he said, adding, “Let me tell you something about mammoth bones, mammoth tusks —they're extremely valuable.”</p>

<p>And since then, a hoard of treasure seekers has been assembling at the river in the hopes of uncovering those potential valuable troves.</p>

<p>She rejected his advances. But the woman said that he forced his way into her apartment and raped her twice. This happened at 11pm (local time) last Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The news report also mentioned that the man lives in the same apartment as the woman.&nbsp;</p>

US: UN diplomat accused of raping a woman. He was arrested but released after claiming immunity

<p>The United States recorded a case of polio on Thursday (July 21). The case has been identified outside New York City in Rockland County, the New York State Health Department confirmed. The report of a known polio case means this would be the first in the country in nearly 10 years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The health department revealed that a person living in Rockland County, (48 kilometres) north of Manhattan, had tested positive for the highly contagious disease.&nbsp;</p>

<p>New York's health department said in a statement: "This suggests that the virus may have originated in a location outside of the US where OPV is administered since revertant strains cannot emerge from inactivated vaccines."&nbsp;</p>

A report by CNBC stated that the last public pay telephone will be displayed at the Museum of the City of New York.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notable, local media also reported that Manhattan will keep four of the old-fashioned phone booths on the Upper West Side, on West End Avenue at 66th, 90th, 100th and 101st streets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mark Levine, who is Manhattan borough president, had the last booth housing two Bell System payphones at the corner of 7th Avenue and 50th Street dismantled. The payphones were lifted by crane and were put on a flatbed truck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Levine said on Twitter he was "on hand today to say 'Bye Bye' one last time to the famed (infamous?) NYC pay phone. I won't miss all the dead dial tones but gotta say I felt a twinge of nostalgia seeing it go."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Truly the end of an era but also, hopefully, the start of a new one with more equity in technology access," Levine added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Showing support for the war-torn country Ukraine, English songwriter and singer Harry Styles waved the country's flag during his 'One Night Concert' on Friday. His kind gesture touched thousands of hearts. In no time pictures and videos from the concert went viral.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 28-year-old singer performed on all the 13 tracks from his latest album Harry's House and also on some classic favourites that were demanded from his fans. The concert happened on the night of 20th May at New York City's Madison Square Garden.&nbsp;</p>

During the performance, one picture shows Harry holding the flag with one hand, as he clenches his microphone with the other.&nbsp;</p>
