Police said they found journals of the 28-year-old Audrey Hale, who was a former student of the school, in the shooter's car and bedroom after the March 27 attack.&nbsp;

As quoted by US media outlets, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said that the shooter outlined plans "to commit mass murder at The Covenant School" in journals.&nbsp;

Police previously said that Hale, who was also killed during the attack, had been receiving treatment for an emotional disorder. Hale was armed with two assault rifles and a handgun when entering the small Christian academy of about 200 students in Tennessee.&nbsp;

Hale was identified by police as a female who had used male pronouns on social media. Police previously had also revealed that the shooter had maps of the school and left a manifesto that suggested more attacks were planned.&nbsp;

The investigating officers and police have not established a motive behind the attack. However, they said the shooter "considered the actions of other mass murderers".&nbsp;

As quoted by NBC News, the police department said: "The writings remain under careful review by the MNPD and the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit based in Quantico, Virginia."&nbsp;

The bill cleared the Senate on a 27-13 vote, at the state legislature in Tallahassee. When the measure becomes law, those wishing to carry a concealed weapon in public will only need personal identification, such as a driver's license.&nbsp;

Previously, people in Florida seeking such a permit were required to undergo training and a background check.&nbsp;

Police, as per reports, are still attempting to find the motive behind the attack. However, Drake said that the shooter didn't target any&nbsp;particular individual.

The police chief identified the suspect as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, 28, a resident of the Nashville area. Hale, as per Drake, identifies "as transgender," however, he said it was&nbsp;unclear whether the suspect identified as a man or a woman. Screenshots of a LinkedIn profile which allegedly belonged to Hale are circulating&nbsp;on social media. They&nbsp;have identified the trans shooter's&nbsp;pronouns as he/him.

Police reportedly reached the scene of the shooting&nbsp;within approximately 15 minutes of receiving the first emergency call around 10:00 am (1500 GMT). Police earlier said that a&nbsp;heavily-armed young female killed three children and three staff at the school.&nbsp;Don Aaron of the Nashville police said, "This shooter is a female. She appears to be in her teens although her identification has not been confirmed at this juncture."&nbsp;

"We know that she was armed with at least two assault type rifles and a handgun,"&nbsp;Aaron added.&nbsp;

White House called&nbsp;the school shooting incident "heartbreaking" and also urged the Republicans to back President Joe Biden's push for a ban on assault weapons commonly used in US mass shootings.&nbsp;

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden had been briefed on the "heartbreaking news of another shooting of innocents" and she asked what Republicans were waiting for to "step up and act to pass the assault weapons ban."&nbsp;

The Nashville Fire Department said that officials were rushed to the site. "We are responding to an active aggressor at 33 Burton Hills Blvd Covenant School. We can confirm we have multiple patients," it tweeted. Nashville police said on Twitter that "an active shooter event has taken place" and the "shooter was engaged by MNPD (Metropolitan Nashville Police Department) and is dead". The Covenant School, founded in 2001, is a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville with about 200 students. Vanderbilt University Medical Center spokesperson John Howser was quoted as saying, "Three pediatric patients were transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, all having suffered gunshot wounds. The gunman was armed with what was described as an AR-15 style assault rifle. He walked into the restaurant in Antioch, in suburban Nashville, shortly before 3:30 am&nbsp;(0830 GMT). The suspect opened fire at around 3:25 am (local time) and fled on foot after removing his jacket. The assailant has been described by the local police as a white man with short hair.

The gunman's vehicle was registered in the name of Travis Reinking. 29-year-old Travis Reinking, the supposed suspect, is believed to be a resident of Morton, Illinois.

One of the injured died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center; two others are still at the hospital in critical but stable condition.
