<p>The development came a day after a Taliban delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday for meetings with top officials including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.</p>

<p>This isn’t the first time that Iran has claimed to have foiled Israeli activities in its land.</p>

<p>In August, Iranian security services claimed to have thwarted an Israeli conspiracy to sabotage its ballistic missile production. Several people were arrested.</p>

<p>Tehran also accused Israel of being behind a January drone attack on a defence ministry site in the central province of Isfahan.</p>

Israel: Director of Mossad visits Qatar to discuss hostage situation, say reports

Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated significantly, particularly due to their differences over Iran's nuclear programme.</p>

<p>Barnea said that Iran had planned to supply Russia with both short and long-range missiles, in addition to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) used in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. “They have intentions to sell other weapons that will also be foiled. Our fear is that the Russians will transfer advanced weapons to the Iranians in return, which will certainly endanger our peace and maybe even our existence here,” he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During his speech, Barnea also disclosed that Mossad and its allies in the international intelligence community successfully prevented 27 attacks targeting Jews and Israelis abroad last year.</p>

<p>“The squads that were captured, the weapons that were seized together with them, all had clear targets,” he said.</p>

<p>Mossad director added that the attempts occurred “all over the world, in Europe, Africa, the Far East, and South America.”</p>

<p>“All this under the direction and guidance of Iran. We are working even at this moment to follow Iranian squads to prevent them from killing Jews and Israelis around the world,” Barnea continued.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>A warning to Iran</strong></h2>

<p>Barnea issued a stern warning, saying, “The time has come to exact a price from Iran in a different way. Harming Israelis and Jews in any way, by proxy or Iranian weapons smuggled into Israel, will lead to activity against the Iranians, from the ground operators to the highest ranks, and I mean that. These prices will be exacted in the depths of Iran, even in the heart of Tehran."&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Iran's denial and US sanctions</strong></h2>

<p>Iran had previously acknowledged sending drones to Russia but claimed they were sent before Russia's February invasion of Ukraine. Moscow, on the other hand, has denied using Iranian drones in the conflict.</p>

<p>In response to concerns over Iranian-Russian military cooperation and the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine, the United States imposed sanctions targeting suppliers of Iranian drones.</p>

'It will endanger our existence': Mossad chief says Russia may sell advanced weaponry to Iran

<p>The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) claims to have uncovered a “ghost” cell of 56 operatives supposedly spying on non-Turkey nationals for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, reported the daily newspaper Daily Sabah, on Monday (July 3). The media report citing MIT has also said that seven people have confessed to working for Mossad.</p>

<h2><strong>MIT finds ‘ghost’ cell of Mossad</strong></h2>

<p>The operation was a collaborative effort between MIT and the Anti-Terrorism Branch of the Istanbul Police Department and the latter arrested seven people, “who all confessed to working for Mossad in their testimonies,” reported the Sabah, citing information it gathered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the Turkish intelligence agency, the seven suspects are among the 56 “operatives” linked to a total of nine networks which are reportedly overseen by Mossad agents based in Tel Aviv.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The report also said that the communication between Mossad agents in Turkey and abroad was done with single-use devices also known as burner mobile phones owned by “fake persons” across the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It added that MIT also found that Mossad had “developed overcomplicated methods” and conducted various operations in Istanbul while evading Turkish intelligence.<br />

Furthermore, the report citing MIT said that the Istanbul unit of the Israeli intelligence network was provided training and technical support remotely by the 24-year-old Indian owner of Tel Aviv-based spy software firm Cyberintelligence International Private Ltd.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Who was Israel supposedly spying on?</strong></h2>

<p>MIT also found Israel used Arab spies to reportedly gather “biographical” intelligence from its targets in Lebanon and Syria. According to the media report, the Israeli intelligence agency sent spies on “secret three-stop touristic trips” in Serbia, then Dubai and finally to Bangkok. In Thailand’s capital city, the spies would be trained at a “Mossad center” to “learn espionage.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>The supposed targets are said to be foreign nationals and the information was to be collected “through an online routing method, tracking vehicle movements via GPS, hacking into password-protected networks based on Wi-Fi devices and finding private locations,” reported the Sabah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>MIT also found that Mossad sent its Arab-origin spies in Istanbul to Lebanon and Syria to gather intelligence and mark locations which reportedly would be “struck by armed drones”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the media report, among the targets was Hezbollah, a Shia terror outfit majorly operating in Lebanon, which is currently doing so out of a building in Beirut where the group’s senior military and other political figures live.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Previous claims by MIT</strong></h2>

<p>The report, on Monday, comes months after MIT claimed to have caught 11 people in Turkey spying for Mossad which also included two Turkish nationals.&nbsp;</p>

According to the media report, among the targets was Hezbollah, a Shia terror outfit majorly operating in Lebanon, which is currently doing so out of a building in Beirut where the group’s senior military and other political figures live. <p>Israel's Mossad spy agency released a statement on Thursday saying that it "apprehended" an Iranian plotting to kill an Israeli in Cyprus, with his interrogation "on Iranian soil" leading to arrests by Cypriot security forces.</p>

<p>The statement came after the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday appreciated "the thwarting of the Iranian terrorist attack in Cyprus against Israeli targets," without providing much details.</p>

<p>Cypriot authorities declined to comment on the matter, however, local media, mentioning unidentified sources, reported a foiled plan to attack Israeli or Jewish targets by suspects that were operating from a breakaway statelet, recognised only by Turkey, in the north of the divided Mediterranean island.</p>

<p>According to the Israeli agency, during cross-questioning Abbasalilu confessed to having "received detailed instructions and weapons from senior Revolutionary Guards personnel in Iran" regarding an Israeli businessman he was to assassinate in Cyprus.</p>

<p>As per AFP reports, a video that was circulated by the Mossad, which the news agency could not verify, showed a man, called Abbasalilu, detailing his arrival in Cyprus and making preparations to kill an Israeli with the help of 'Pakistanis'&nbsp;there.</p>

<p>"In the wake of the information that he gave to investigators, the cell was dismantled in an operation by the Cypriot security services," the Mossad said, noting "a series of arrests in Cyprus last week".</p>

<p>The Israeli agency said it had exposed part of "a continuing effort to carry out terrorist attacks and harm Israelis and Jews around the world".</p>

<p>Earlier this month, Netanyahu said that the vast majority of Israel's "security problems stem from Iran and its proxies".</p>

<p>Israel also condemned its arch-foe for seeking to obtain nuclear arms. Iran denies the claim.</p>

<p>While speaking at a military ceremony on Thursday, Netanyahu said that Israel would not be bound by any international agreement of Tehran's nuclear programme, adding: "We will retain our right and duty to defend ourselves, by ourselves, from any threat."</p>

As a result, 11 individuals involved in the operation were captured during an operation in Istanbul. Two other operatives managed to escape and are currently being pursued by authorities, according to MIT.</p>

<p>Iranian authorities, on Sunday, executed four people accused of working for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, said the state-run news agency, IRNA. This comes after Tehran has also blamed Israel as one of the countries involved in the recent anti-hijab protests in the country and accused them of plotting a civil war in Iran.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Iran’s state media also said on Wednesday, that the country’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence against those accused of “the crime of cooperating with the intelligence services of the Zionist regime and for kidnapping”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The four executed men were identified by the state news agency as Hossein Ordoukhanzadeh, Shahin Imani Mahmoudabadi, Milad Ashrafi and Manouchehr Shahbandi. On the other hand, three other members of the group were sentenced to five to 10 years in prison but were not identified.&nbsp;</p>
