Who killed Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh? Turkish media had the answer but quickly found out the truth

After Hamas chiefIsmail Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday (Jul 31), several Turkish media outlets stated that the leader of the outfit was assassinated by a Mossad agent named 'Amit Nakesh'.
While the name sounds Indian, it isfictional and a clever play on a similar-sounding Hebrew word 'hamitnakesh' thatmeans 'assassin'.
After the reports ofHaniyeh's killing surfaced, Israeli social media users started posting the clever play on the name, which ultimately flummoxed the Turkish media channels.
According to a report in The Jerusalem Post, having named a fictional Mossad operative, the channels doubled down and went as far as tracing the origins of the shadowy, Indian-sounding Israeli assassin.
Some reports stated that Nakesh was "a former IDF officer with experience in specialised operations" and had served in a "secret intelligence unit".
The Turkish media was slow to react to the prank but eventually did realise their mistake and scrubbed off allthe mentions of the mythical assassin.

How did Haniyeh die?
Couple of days afterUS media saidHaniyeh was killed in a bomb blast at a guesthouse he was staying at in Tehran, theTelegraph has published a report stating that the Hamas chief was neutralised by Mossad who hired Iranian agents.
The publication said that Mossad's Iranian picks placed the explosives in three separate rooms and detonated one of them from outside when Haniyeh was confirmed to be in the room.
“They are now certain that Mossad hired agents from the Ansar al-Mahdi protection unit. Upon further investigation, they discovered additional explosive devices in two other rooms,” anIslamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) official was quoted as saying by the publication.
The report added that the original plan to assassinate Haniyeh was in May when he attended the funeral of Ebrahim Raisi, Iran's former president.
