The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Wednesday declared the outbreak a pandemic as since its start in December, more than 1,20,000 people have been infected, and the cases outside China have risen 13-fold over the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, two&nbsp;cases of novel Coronavirus, or Covid-19, were confirmed in Mumbai on Wednesday -- the first cases of the city. The total number of cases in India has now risen to 68. Of these, Kerala houses the highest number of cases -- 17; Maharashtra has 10.

The Indian government has&nbsp;taken a series of measures -- including&nbsp;suspension of visas of all foreign nationals coming to the country till April 15.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, has said he spoke to his Indian counterpart, PM Modi, adding Tel Aviv was dependent on supply lines from various countries. Global economic activities and supply of essential goods have been widely hit due to the virus outbreak.

Coronavirus first originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December, 2019, and has claimed over 4,200 lives and infected more than 117,330 people across 107 countries and territories, with the World Health Organisation (WHO) describing the outbreak a pandemic.

“I also spoke to the prime minister of India, my friend Narendra Modi. We are dependent on supply lines from various countries. We are looking into it all the time,” Netanyahu told a press conference on Wednesday.

His remarks came during joint statements with the finance minister, the economy and industry minister, the Bank of Israel’s governor and the finance ministry director general on dealing with the economic implications of the coronavirus. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, however, did not clearly spell out the subject of Netanyahu’s discussions with Modi in its press release.

Netanyahu has announced a package of 10 billion NIS (USD 2.86 billion) to facilitate economic activity in the midst of challenges posed by the spread of the virus. “The Israeli economy is in a better situation than most economies in the world: Unemployment is low, growth is high and the debt to GDP ratio is good,” Netanyahu said.

“However, we have a great challenge here that we all are feeling and which we are all aware of. In our view, we can also deal with it in a way that will allow us to get through it successfully in peace,” he said.&nbsp;

“Not without difficulty, and not without sacrifice, but in the end, in peace, and I think that we can do this together in an optimal manner,” Netanyahu asserted .

The package lays special stress on the health sector and other businesses impacted by the coronavirus such as tourism and the aviation sector. It outlines financial assistance provisions for businesses affected by the global menace.

At least 44 people were killed and hundreds injured in the worst communal riots in the Indian capital in decades, triggered by clashes between supporters of a new citizenship law and those against it.

"I raised the demand for strictest possible punishment for the perpetrators responsible for the riots in Delhi, irrespective of their party, religion or status," Kejriwal told ANI here.

Terming his meeting with the Prime Minister a 'courtesy call' Kejriwal said the duo also discussed the spread of coronavirus. 
"We (the Centre and Delhi government) should work together to stop the spread of coronavirus and for treating the people who are infected with it," the chief minister said.

Later at a press conference, elaborating about the meeting, Kejriwal said that he had praised the state police for the commendable work is done on Sunday (March 1) evening in preventing rumours in various areas of Delhi. 
"I also said that the same kind of alertness and response should have been shown by the police department on Monday and Tuesday (February 24 and 25) then the loss of lives could have been prevented," Kejriwal said. 
"I also said to the PM that we must take all necessary steps to ensure that such riots do not take place in Delhi ever again," he added. 
At least 47 people lost their lives and more than 200 injured in the violence in North-East Delhi.
