I agree with Manish Tewari, and on behalf of my party and my leader Akhilesh Yadav, I have no hesitation in saying that there was no one more learned than the makers of our Constitution at that time. India’s Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Friday (Dec 13) reiterated that the government of Bangladesh was responsible for safety of religious minorities in the country. While speaking in Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, Jaishankar said the treatment of Hindus in neighbouring Bangladesh was a matter of concern, referring to a series of attacks on Hindu temples by mobs.

“It is our hope that with the new dispensation in Bangladesh, we will settle down to a mutually beneficial and stable relationship,” Jaishankar said in response to a question. Jaishankar added that New Delhi has been continuously raising concerns with Dhaka with a spate of measures, such as dispatching India’s Foreign Secretary to Dhaka and highlighting the issue.

Jaishankar also talked about Myanmar and Pakistan in his detailed answer to questions asked by several lawmakers. "When I researched about the chakravyuha, I got to know that it is also known as 'padmavyuha' or 'lotus'-vyuha (lotus formation).

"In 21st century, India is trapped in a new chakravyuha represented by lotus symbol that PM Modi wears on his chest," Rahul said in Lok Sabha.

Citing Mahabharata's chakravyuha that killed young warrior Abhimanyu on the battlefield, Rahul explained that there were six people at the centre of the trap -- Dronacharya, Karna, Kripacharya, Kritavarma, Ashwathama, and Shakuni.

"Similarly, there are six people at the centre of chakravuya today -- PM Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, Ajit Doval, Ambani and Adani."

Rahul Gandhi's comment led to an uproar by the MPs of ruling National Democratic Alliance as well as an intervention from Speaker Om Birla. To which Rahul said, "If you want, I will remove the names of NSA Doval, Ambani and Adani from this list."

"In BJP, only one leader is allowed to dream to be the Prime Minister. If today, defence minister wants to be the PM, there's a big problem, big fear."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday (July 2). This was PM's first address to the MPs during the first session of Parliament since beginning his third term in office.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister advised all NDA MPs “not to act like Leader of Opposition(LoP) Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.”

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while speaking to reporters after the meeting said, "Prime Minister gave us an important mantra during the meet. He emphasised that every MP has been elected to the House to serve the nation. Regardless of the party they belong to, our first responsibility is to serve the nation."

"Every NDA MP has to work by prioritising the country, this is what the PM urged. Secondly, the PM guided us well regarding the conduct of MPs. He said that every MP should present the matters of their constituency in the House very well as per rules. He also told us to develop expertise in other major issues of interest - be it water, environment, social area. So, PM told us to develop expertise in those areas," Rijiju said.

"The Prime Minister further requested that every MP, along with their family, should visit the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. At Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, the journey from Pt Jawaharlal Nehru to PM Narendra Modi has been displayed in a beautiful manner. There is no political agenda...This is the first such effort that the entire country should get to know of the contribution of each PM, appreciate it, learn from it and pay tribute to them," the Union Minister said.

Rijiju further said, "The manner in which LoP Rahul Gandhi behaved yesterday, turned his back towards the Speaker, spoke out of rules and insulted the Speaker is something that people of our party, the NDA should not do..."

Earlier on Monday (July 1), the Lok Sabha was adjourned until 11 am on Tuesday (July 2).

This was the biggest election in the world...Decades-long records of voting have been broken in J&amp;K. For the past four&nbsp;decades, Kashmir witnessed low voting amid shutdowns and strikes. India's enemies propagated it as the opinion of Kashmir, on international forums. But this time, Kashmir valley gave a befitting reply to all such forces," the president said.&nbsp;

This became possible due to the reforms and decisions taken in the national interest in the last 10 years. Today, India contributes to 15% of the global growth. My Government is working towards making India the 3rd largest economy in the world."

<h2>President Murmu calls Emergency 'unconstitutional'&nbsp;</h2>

"Emergency was the biggest and darkest chapter of the direct attack on the Constitution. The entire country plunged into chaos during Emergency, but the nation was victorious against such unconstitutional powers," the president said, as ruling BJP members cheered and the Opposition held protests.&nbsp;

"Every attempt to tarnish our democracy should be condemned by all. Divisive forces are conspiring to weaken democracy, create a chasm in society from within and outside the country," she said.

<h2>President addresses NEET issue, says government will punish the guilty</h2>

The president also spoke about the irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which is an all-India exam held for admission to medical courses.

She said that the government is committed to investigating the paper leaks and punishing the guilty amid cries of "NEET" from the Opposition benches.

"Sanctity, and transparency are a must in government recruitments and examinations. The government is committed to conducting a fair investigation and ensure the most stringent punishment to those guilty in the recent incidents of paper leak," the president said, and added that there is a need to move beyond "partisan politics" and adopt strong steps on this issue.

The opposition, meanwhile, has fielded&nbsp;K Suresh as their candidate for the speaker's post.

The ruling&nbsp;National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition failed to reach a consensus on Tuesday (Jun 25)&nbsp;over the appointment of Speaker in Lok Sabha.&nbsp;

As per parliamentary traditions, the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker have been filled unanimously in Lok Sabha.

The opposition is generally offered the Deputy Speaker position. Now that the&nbsp;government has failed&nbsp;to reach a consensus, elections will be held for the post.

News agency ANI earlier reported that senior cabinet ministers Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju have gotten in touch with opposition leaders.

The nomination process will be held today and the election will take place on June 26.

Earlier, media reports suggested&nbsp;pro tem Speaker Bhartruhari Mahtab may also be nominated for the post.

K Suresh had claimed that the government has made no effort to reach a consensus.

"Rajnath Singh called Mallikarjun Kharge and he asked him to extend support to the Speaker. The entire Opposition said that we would support the Speaker but the convention is that the Deputy Speaker post should be given to the opposition. Rajnath Singh said that he would call back Mallikarjun Kharge but he has not done that yet...PM Modi is asking for cooperation from the Opposition but our leader is being insulted," he added.
