Her three besties, rally around her as Kalindi- with a dysfunctional family of her own- gets set for a loud ostentatious Punjabi wedding with her beau in Delhi. During the course of the wedding, problems, issues of the other three friends come to the fore. Married to a 'Gora' Mira's(Shikha Talsania) marriage is yet to get approval from her conservative father. Sakshi(Swara Bhasker), an impulsive, potty mouth brat, is on the verge of a divorce and Avni(Sonam Kapoor), despite being a top shot lawyer, cannot find a suitable boy for herself.</p>

Ghosh infuses <em>desi </em><em>tadka</em> to <em>Sex and The City</em> and <em>Bridesmaid</em> mashup - and the result is very entertaining if not thought-provoking.&nbsp;</p>

The two are absolutely natural- and make their characters Sakshi and Mira their own. It's a delight to watch Bhasker dealing with the neighbourhood aunties, or swearing at the drop of a hat. The two actresses get the best lines and together create a riot on screen. Kareena, in her first film post maternity break, doesn't disappoint. She has&nbsp;always been a natural on screen and as the flawed Kalindi, delivers a solid performance. Sonam has her moments as the uptight Avni.&nbsp;</p>

Vishwas Kinni who plays West Delhi dude Bhandari to the T is an actor I'd watch out for.<br />
<br />
<em>Veere Di Wedding</em> can be best enjoyed if you have a bit Delhi in you. The situations, the dialogues, the humour is all very specific to the city. It is going to be more enjoyable if you understand the little things that make the city what it is- the divide between the Punjabis and Bengalis, South and West Delhi and why the mention of Khalsa College makes the uptight Avni shudder.&nbsp;</p>

There are moments which are outrageous in the film, the climax is flat, the characters deal with issues that may seem irrelevant to you, they are always dressed too perfectly and unrealistically (if I may add) but <em>Veere Di Wedding</em> should still be celebrated because it's a first. Because seldom does Bollywood churn out a buddy film with women as the central characters that make you laugh and celebrate sisterhood.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If you have watched 'Veere Di Wedding', you must have gushed over Kareena Kapoor's bridal attire. The actress looked breathtaking in a ivory and yellow lehenga in the final scene, in which her character Kalindi gets married to beau Rishabh (Sumeet Vyas).&nbsp;<br />

Interestingly, much like in the film, the lehenga is 25 years old. In the film, Kalindi wears her mother's wedding lehenga. In reality, the outfit is from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's vintage collection.&nbsp;<br />

In an Instagram story shared on social media, Sandeep explained, ''Veere's wedding garment is actually a vintage garment of Abu Sandeep. It's something that we made 25 years ago. It was lying in our coffers...Rhea came to the factory and we started digging out a whole trunk and and taking out old pieces. So then, we just reinvented it. The skirt remains the same. The blouse remains pretty much the same. Of course, it was altered to Kareena's size.Then we created a dupatta and just modernised it slightly. At the wedding time (in the movie), everybody is in AJSK vintage, which is great fun.''&nbsp;</p>

The designers Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla revealed that the lehenga that Kareena Kapoor wore was more than two decades old.

If you have watched 'Veere Di Wedding', you must have gushed over Kareena Kapoor's bridal attire. The actress looked breathtaking in a ivory and yellow lehenga in the final scene, in which her character Kalindi gets married to beau Rishabh (Sumeet Vyas). Interestingly, much like in the film, the lehenga is 25 years old. In the film, Kalindi wears her mother's wedding lehenga. In reality, the outfit is from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's vintage collection. In an Instagram story shared on social media, Sandeep explained, ''Veere's wedding garment is actually a vintage garment of Abu Sandeep. It's something that we made 25 years ago. It was lying in our coffers...Rhea came to the factory and we started digging out a whole trunk and and taking out old pieces. So then, we just reinvented it. The skirt remains the same. The blouse remains pretty much the same. Of course, it was altered to Kareena's size.Then we created a dupatta and just modernised it slightly. <p>From size zero to her pregnancy weight, Kareena Kapoor Khan has gracefully "embraced" her body type as the actor believes beauty of women cannot be measured in terms of age or pounds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 37-year-old Bollywood diva, who took a break from the silver screen during her pregnancy and confidently carried her post-baby body following son Taimur's birth, says she has loved herself in every phase of her life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I am a fit girl. I have always been into fitness. It is not like I have suddenly started working out. I believe in embracing body in every form. I carried my pregnancy and my weight as well as I am doing now. I have always believed that women are beautiful in every age and phase of their lives.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kareena says that one should never get stuck to any one genre as that gets boring and there is the added risk of getting typecast. Her aim is to cater to all sorts of audience.</p>

<p>"I am always proud of my glamorous image. One has to enjoy some commercial success. If I have done an 'Udta Punjab', then I have also done the 'Golmaal' series. I have always tried to balance things out.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"To sustain in the film industry for 18 years one has to keep doing exciting work. I do films that suit my personality, my time limit. I do films that I like," Kareena told PTI.</p>

<p>The actor says she has been a risk-taker right from the beginning of her career despite being a commercial heroine.</p>

<p>"When I was 22-year-old, I did 'Chameli' and people thought I would not do it. For me, it is all about having the right balance of things - commercial and being part of different kind of movies."</p>

<p>Citing the example films such as 'Udta Punjab', 'Ki and Ka', 'Chameli'&nbsp;and 'Omkara', Kareena insists that she has always picked up stories that "no mainstream commercial heroine" would do.</p>

<p>"I just see - is this film entertaining, is the script good? Can I see myself in it and do I have a good part? When all these things fall into place I tick a film and I am on board."</p>

<p>For her, there is a difference between being an actor and a star and she says she has always looked at herself first as an actor and then as a star.</p>

<p>"I don't think anyone joins the industry thinking, 'I want to become a star'. You join it because you like acting, you like movies, you are passionate about cinema. I enjoy acting and people like me, my work and that is why I am a star."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She also credits a loyal fan-base for standing by her in her successes and failures.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It is interesting when directors write roles for you, but maybe I can't do all kind of roles. Now I look at how much time a film would take. <p>The four protagonists in the film use cuss words but Kareena says she fails to understand why there is so much focus on that.</p>

<p>"Saif Ali Khan was the villain in 'Omkara' and he was bad mouthing. He won a lot of awards for the film. It is required in the film, so it is there. Nobody is doing it just for the sake of it.</p>

But finally, the board members agreed to let the language remain intact and gave the film an 'A' certificate."&nbsp;<br />

"I don't think a film like this has been made before. It is entertaining and has everything from romance to drama. And why can't a female headline a commercial film that is about girls which has a story? Things might change if this film works, I hope it brings about a change in the roles that are written for us," Sonam said.&nbsp;<br />

The actor also hopes films based on women can help in changing the "misogynistic mindset".&nbsp;<br />

"There is very long way before it happens. People like Kareena are setting an example. She got married and then she was on the sets and after having a baby she was on the sets. Shahid Kapoor got married did anyone ask whether he will work or not. Nobody will ask this question to a man.&nbsp;</p>

Kartik Aaryan croons 'Ban Ja Tu Meri Rani' for Kareena; Internet gets upset on Saif's behalf

<p>Indian film director, Karan Johar&nbsp;known for his work in&nbsp;Hindi films is a doting son too. &nbsp;He celebrated his mother,&nbsp;Hiroo Johar&#39;s 75th birthday in a grand way. &nbsp;It was attended by his close friends like Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Kajol to name a few. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-part birthday party started with a brunch for all Ms Johar&#39;s close friends, followed by a grand party in the evening. The invites were customised with a bottle of champagne, cake and chocolates accompanied with white flowers for the guests. The venue was decorated with white flowers as Hiroo Johar is fond of white flowers.</p>

<p>Over 150 guests were invited for the party and the cuisine comprised of Chinese and Indian. The grand celebration included soulful music by Sonu Nigam. &nbsp;He sang songs like <strong>&nbsp;&ldquo;</strong>Har Ghadi Badal Rahi Hai Roop Zindagi&rdquo;, &ldquo;Lag Ja Gale&rdquo; and &ldquo;Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh&rdquo;<strong> </strong>to name a few.&nbsp;</p>

Karan Johar threw a grand bash to make his mother's birthday a memorable one

Indian film director, Karan Johar known for his work in Hindi films is a doting son too. He celebrated his mother, Hiroo Johar's 75th birthday in a grand way. It was attended by his close friends like Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Kajol to name a few. The two-part birthday party started with a brunch for all Ms Johar's close friends, followed by a grand party in the evening. The invites were customised with a bottle of champagne, cake and chocolates accompanied with white flowers for the guests. The venue was decorated with white flowers as Hiroo Johar is fond of white flowers. Over 150 guests were invited for the party and the cuisine comprised of Chinese and Indian. The grand celebration included soulful music by Sonu Nigam. He sang songs like “Har Ghadi Badal Rahi Hai Roop Zindagi”, “Lag Ja Gale” and “Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh” to name a few. Karan Johar shared few pictures of the grand birthday celebration on social networking sites along with the new addition to the Johar family, Yash and Roohi, his two beautiful kids. She said,&nbsp;&ldquo;I do not like the fact that everyday Taimur&rsquo;s moves are monitored, pictures are out, what he is doing, where he is going, what he is wearing, discussing his hairstyle. He is just a 14-month-old. I don&rsquo;t know how to stop it. You are just following him around&quot; and added, &quot;I think he is getting used to it because, of late, if I compare his pictures, he has started posing.&rdquo;</p>

<p>She also spoke about the choice of the name:&nbsp;&ldquo;There was (a) lot of trolling but there was an immense amount of support as well. Not that the trolls or anything matters. Because the night before (the delivery) when we went to the hospital, Saif asked me, if it&rsquo;s a boy, do I want to change the name from Taimur?... He even told me to change the name to &lsquo;Faiz&rsquo;, as it is more poetic and romantic. I was like no, &lsquo;If it is a boy, my son is going to be a fighter, he will be called &lsquo;Taimur&rsquo;. Taimur means iron and I will produce (an) ironman.
