<p>Reuters quoted two unnamed US officials who said that the US and Japan anted to show their combined resolve.</p>

<p>The flight of eight aircraft from bases in Japan included four American F-16 jets and four Japanese F-15 fighters, according to Japan`s Air Self Defense Force.</p>

<p>North Korean missile tests were carried out after US President Joe Biden left Tokyo after the Quad summit.</p>

According to reports, the man finally had his wish come true to be a four-legged canine after he got himself a custom-made dog collie costume, which cost around 2 million Yen (US $15,738 approx.) and took 40 days to make. The photos were posted on Twitter by a user who goes by @toco_eevee. A professional agency called Zeppet helped design the costume. The pictures have now gone viral.</p>

<p>According to local Japanese news outlet news.mynavi, Zeppet provides a large number of sculptures for movies, commercials, amusement facilities and also produces costumes that have been seen on TV and costumes of famous mascot characters in Japan.</p>

<p>The islands are a subject of a territorial dispute between Russia and Japan, with Moscow calling them a part of its Kuril chain and which Japan calls Northern Territories.</p>

<p>The conflict over the Kuril Islands has prevented Russia and Japan from reaching a peace treaty formally ending World War Two hostilities.</p>

<p>During a visit to the US in April, India's finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that India would like to be a 'good friend' to Western countries but that the country doesn't want to be weakened and needed to ensure its security.</p>

<p>Experts believe that this means that the South-Asian nation plans to continue its long-standing reliance on Russia.</p>

<p><strong>How dependent is India on Russia?</strong></p>

<p>The country's rivalry with its next-door neighbour Pakistan has long influenced its status as one of the world's largest buyers of weapons. China's growing power in the region has added to India's worries.</p>

<p>BBC reports that since 1992 almost two-thirds of Indian military equipment has come from Russia. As per estimates by a US-based research group &nbsp;Stimson Center, Russian weapons could account for as much as 85 per cent of New Delhi's weapon systems.</p>

<p>But despite the ties India now shares with these nations, it is yet to join in the international condemnation of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.</p>

<p>Among the QUAD members, the United States has been at the forefront in condemning Moscow and imposing manyfold sanctions, something that Japan and Australia have been quick to join.</p>

<p>India has long practised nonalignment. Even as its close relationship with the United States on one hand and Russia on the other&nbsp;puts it in an uncomfortable position, India is maintaining its status-quo.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The nation has successfully avoided being entangled in conflicts amid superpowers and maintaining its sovereignty.</p>

The incident is deemed provocation by China and Russia as it happened when US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australia's newly elected leader Anthony Albanese visited the Japanese capital at the invitation of PM Fumio Kishida. During the summit and bilateral talks, the Quad leaders stressed their determination to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific region despite an increasingly assertive China.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As quoted by the news agency Reuters, Kishi told reporters that "two Chinese bombers joined two Russian bombers in the Sea of Japan and made a joint flight to the East China Sea. After that, a total of four aircraft, two presumed (new) Chinese bombers -- which replaced the two Chinese bombers -- and two Russian bombers, conducted a joint flight from the East China Sea to the Pacific Ocean."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kishi also said that a Russian reconnaissance plane also flew over the open sea from the northern island of Hokkaido to the Noto peninsula on Japan's main island.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Although, the defence ministry told AFP that the planes did not breach territorial airspace. Notably, it was the fourth time since November that long-distance joint flights by Russia and China had been spotted near Japan, AFP reported.&nbsp;</p>
