<p>Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (Sep 14) held a political rally in the northern Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, where he declared that terrorism was on its “last breath” in the area. Addressing people from the Doda district, PM Modi vowed to free the state from dynastic politics.</p>

<p>"We and you together will make Jammu and Kashmir a secure and prosperous part of the country," he said.</p>

<p>PM Modi also criticised rival parties in the state, dubbing the upcoming assembly polls as a contest between three families — Congress, the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) — and the youth of the region.</p>

<p>He promised more employment opportunities to the youth and pledged to make the UT a paradise for tourists.</p>

<p>The Indian PM declared his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will grant full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir if the party comes to power.</p>

<p>The operation started at around 3:30 pm (local time)&nbsp;and during the initial gunfight, four Indian Army soldiers were injured. All the injured soldiers have been taken to the army's base hospital.</p>

<p>The Indian Army said, "Based on the intelligence inputs, a joint operation with J&amp;K Police was launched in area Chatroo at Kishtwar. A contact has been established with the terrorists at 3:30 pm. In the ensuing firefight, four army personnel were injured. The operation is in progress."</p>

<p>Catering to the youth, the manifesto mentioned that the government will create half a million employment opportunities in Jammu &amp; Kashmir through Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Rozgar Yojana (PPNDRY).</p>

We need to see Kashmir from the prism of GeoPolitics and that's how I got interested in it. Jamaat Islami has a very important role and looking at the situation, we as Kashmiris have to think about the future and how to make it bright. Past has not given or yielded anything, and we lost what we even had so we need to work for our future. I was associated with Jamaat Islami from 2002 to 2014,"&nbsp;said&nbsp;Talat Majeed,&nbsp;Pulwama.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In South Kashmir's Kulgam District,&nbsp;Nazir Ahmad Bhat, a former member of Jamaat-e-Islami filed his nomination for the Devsar Assembly constituency.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"There was a lot of injustice here. Last year, my two nephews were arrested, and despite seeking help from many leaders, no one helped. At that time, I decided to serve the people. There was fear of rigging in the parliamentary elections, but it didn’t happen, which gave me the courage to contest. That was the time I decided to fight, and I will make sure to win. I was associated with Jamaat because I used to attend their functions,"&nbsp;said&nbsp;Nazir Ahmad Bhat, a former member of Jamaat-e-Islami.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Omar Abdullah took a dig at Jamaat and said that till now contesting elections was “haram” for the JeI, but now it's “halal”.</p>

<p>“Alliance on all 90 assembly seats between the two parties. Paperwork to be finalised by tonight. Congress, NC and CPI(M) are together. We will work together and fight the elections. We are hopeful that statehood will be returned. No doors are closed for anyone,” said Farooq Abdullah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that his party and the INDIA bloc are committed to ensuring the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible.&nbsp;</p>

Congress is committed to work for the welfare of the people of J&amp;K. Tall claims of BJP that post Article 370, terrorism has been wiped out in J&amp;K, have fallen flat. <p>The manifesto also speaks about advocating for Indo-Pak dialogue as the best method to resolve ongoing conflicts. It also says that the JKNC is strongly committed to the dignified return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. Not only that, NC also announced freebies for the citizens, including&nbsp;free education for all till university, and 200 units of electricity for every household.&nbsp;</p>

<p>''Electricity prices are going up and water is not available everywhere, we will address this as well. If parties are of the idea that we have to defeat divisive forces and BJP, they will definitely ally with the Congress. And we will definitely succeed,” said Qarra.&nbsp;</p>
