Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) responded to the incident, which unfolded on Jerusalem Street in the city.&nbsp;

According to the police, a municipal security officer and armed Israeli civilians shot and “neutralised” the two terrorists.&nbsp;

Two terrorists, one of whom was seen armed with an assault rifle, carried out the shooting in Jaffa in south Tel Aviv, according to surveillance camera images.&nbsp;

According to the images, the terrorists were seen coming out of the Tel Aviv light rail. The duo had reportedly shot and stabbed people on the light rail before continuing on foot and attacking people on Jerusalem Street in the city.

One of the terrorists was seen opening fire at the body of a man on the ground.

Police say the shooting in Jaffa is a suspected terror attack.&nbsp;

Law enforcement officials said that the situation was “under control” and the families of the victims had been notified.&nbsp;

Tel Aviv district commander Haim Sargrof said that&nbsp;the two attackers who were killed were not Israeli citizens and&nbsp;there were no other assailants at the scene. 
 
"I saw a terrorist shoot a girl and another girl, then I saw the terrorist shoot a man on a bicycle. At that moment, a civilian arrived with a gun and shot the terrorist," said an eyewitness as per Haaretz report.&nbsp;

Sinwar succeeded&nbsp;Ismail Haniyeh as Hamas chief after the latter was assassinated in Iran. Haniyeh was allegedly neutralised by Israel using an explosive device that was smuggled into the guesthouse he was staying at&nbsp;in Tehran.&nbsp;

Yemen’s Houthis claim they fired 'ballistic missile, drone' deep into Israel

The UN&nbsp;human rights chief on Tuesday (Sep 24) called on anyone with influence in the Middle East to seek to avert an escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, as intensifying cross-border attacks increased fears of a full-blown war.

Israel struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and its Iran-backed arch-foe attacked military facilities in northern Israel on Tuesday, after Lebanon suffered its deadliest day in decades with more than 500 people killed.

"UN High Commissioner Volker Turk calls on all states and actors with influence in the region and beyond to avert further escalation and do everything they can to ensure full respect for international law," Ravina Shamdasani, the spokesperson for Turk said at a Geneva press briefing.

"The methods and means of warfare that are being used raise very serious concerns about whether this is compliant with international humanitarian law," she added.

Asked about reports that Israel had warned people through phone messages ahead of the strikes, she said: "Whether you've sent out a warning you're telling civilians to flee doesn't make it okay to then strike those areas, knowing full well that the impact on civilians will be huge."

At the same press briefing, Abdinasir Abubakar, a World Health Organization (WHO) official in Lebanon, said that some hospitals in the country were "overwhelmed" by the thousands of wounded people arriving. At least four healthcare workers had been killed on Monday, he added.

"We have some evidence, and we have some documentation that shows that at least there were some attacks on health facilities, even the ambulances as well," he told the briefing, condemning the impact on Lebanon's fragile health sector.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Lebanon's people on Monday, saying: "Israel's war is not with you, it's with Hezbollah." For too long Hezbollah has been using you as human shields."

The UN&nbsp;refugee agency's spokesperson Matthew Saltmarsh said more people are expected to flee their homes and that the agency is seeking to identify new shelters for displaced people around Beirut and the Bekaa valley.

"We're looking at tens of thousands (of displaced), but we expect that those figures will start to rise," he said. "The situation is extremely alarming. It's very chaotic, and we are doing what we can to support the government."

Schools have been closed across the country as some facilities have been transformed into shelters, said Ettie Higgins, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Lebanon.

The explosives were implanted near the battery with a remote activations switch, allowing for a coordinated detonation. Some reports claim that a beep was sent seconds before the attack, forcing the owners of the pagers to take them out, thereby injuring them more grievously.&nbsp;

Road diggers began clearing piles of debris and rubble left by the operation, which involved hundreds of troops and police backed by helicopters and drones entering all areas of the city and the adjacent refugee camp as well as surrounding villages.

Thousands of residents were displaced from their homes during the nine-day operation, during which troops fought running gunbattles with Palestinian fighters from factions including Hamas and Islamic Jihad and Fatah.

"When they entered, they used bulldozers and began destroying everything. They left nothing," said Jenin resident Samaher Abu Nassa.

Water and electricity services remain cut and around 20 km of roadway was dug up by Israeli bulldozers, a tactic the military said was aimed at neutralizing roadside bombs but which has ripped up much of the centre of the city.

A statement from the military said 30 explosives planted under the roads had been dismantled.

The Palestinian foreign ministry accused the military of transferring the tactics used to level the Gaza Strip into the West Bank.

Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank, has long been a stronghold of Palestinian armed factions, and the Israeli military said the operation, which also targeted the city of Tulkarm, was aimed at thwarting Iranian-backed militant groups planning attacks on Israeli civilians.

It said troops had killed 14 militant fighters during the operation, including the local commander of Hamas in Jenin. Forces also arrested 30 suspects and confiscated weapons and dismantled infrastructure including an underground weapons storage depot underneath a mosque and an explosives workshop.

On Friday, thousands, including large numbers of armed men who fired into the air, joined funeral processions for people killed during the fighting. Many of the bodies were wrapped either in Palestinian flags or the green, black and yellow flags of Hamas, Islamic Jihad or Fatah.

While the Israeli military's main focus over most of the past year has been in Gaza, the West Bank has seen a surge in violence, with repeated clashes between the military and Palestinian fighters as well as raids by Jewish settlers on Palestinian villages and attacks by Palestinians on Israelis.

More than 680 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian health ministry figures. Many have been armed fighters but others have been youths throwing stones at protests or civilians with no involvement in the violence.

In the same period, dozens of Israeli civilians have been killed in attacks by Palestinians or in rocket and missile attacks from the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

The warning was seen last week on the US-based dating app, in Arabic beneath the pictures of US warplanes, stating, "Do not take up arms against the United States or its partners,” it said, noting that America “will protect its partners in the face of threats from the Iranian regime and its proxies.”

"Central Command is “fully prepared” and ready to employ F-16 and A-10 aircraft “currently in the region," the message added.&nbsp;

The platform where the ad was surfacing, i.e. Tinder, has sparked conversations, about the US military's online information operations, aimed at influencing the views of global audiences and countering what the government perceives as misleading narratives from foreign adversaries.&nbsp;

According to one US official familiar with the matter, the ad which is believed to be a part of a broader campaign in what is commonly called psychological operations or military information supporting operations, belonged to Central Command (CENTCOM), The Washington Post reported.&nbsp;

<h2>CENTCOM declines to comment</h2>

However, the Central Command declined to comment on the matter, saying it generally does not discuss information operations, as reported by The Washington Post.&nbsp;

"Broadly speaking and as a matter of policy, the Department of Defense does conduct military information operations in support of our national security priorities. These activities must be undertaken in compliance with US law and DOD policy, and we are committed to enforcing those safeguards," a defence official told the Washington Post.&nbsp;

Later, Tinder removed the ad after The Post&nbsp;inquired about it.&nbsp;Company's spokesperson Philip Fry, said that it “violated our policies” on violent and political messaging.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, a freelance journalist from Lebanon, Séamus Malekafzali, said that he saw the ad when he opened Tinder. He posted screenshots of the ad on X, which made the post viral.&nbsp;

Moreover, “Who on earth approved this and how high was everyone in their chain of command?” Timothy Kaldas, the deputy director of the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy, posted on X.
