In order to establish the Al-Qadir University and provide "quality education" in the Sohawa Tehsil of Punjab's Jhelum area, Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and his close aides Zulfiqar Bukhari and Babar Awan established the Al-Qadir Project Trust, reported India Today.&nbsp;

Later, in 2019, Bushra Bibi signed a memorandum with the private real estate firm Bahria Town in order to accept donations from them. The trust later acquired land worth 458 kanals, 4 marlas, and 58 square feet from Bahria Town as part of their agreement.

However, according to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, of this 458 kanals of land, Imran Khan set its shares and transferred 240 kanals of the donated land in the name of Farah Gogi, a close friend of Bushra Bibi.

According to Sanaullah, the value of this land had been underestimated and Khan obtained his part in the name of the institution. He further said that the previous PM sought to cover up the matter.&nbsp;

The scam was brought to light when the Pakistani media noted that the trust received 180 million Pakistani rupees (634,912.34 US$) even though the documents showed expenses of just 8.52 million Pakistani rupees (29,855 US$).&nbsp;Additionally, they questioned why the institution was charging students while it was recognised as a trust.

Justice Minallah asked the former cricketer to refile his appeal in three days and then seek suspension of the order.

"Imran Khan is not disqualified for that election. There should be one standard for all. There is no need to rush in this case," he said, according to Geo News.

The court’s observations came over some confusion regarding the duration of Khan’s qualification, with some saying that he was barred from contesting elections for five years.

Toshakhana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet Division and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries. It was established in 1974.

The EC had said that Khan failed to disclose the proceeds of the sale of state gifts that he purchased from the Toshakhana.

&nbsp;Pakistani law does not bar lawmakers from selling such gifts but hiding these transactions is illegal.

Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani granted interim pre-arrest bail to Khan until October 7 against a surety bond of Rs 10,000. He has been directed to appear before the relevant court.

Earlier, Khan’s attorney Babar Awan had filed a pre-arrest bail petition in the high court on his behalf in the contempt of court case.

The plea was submitted a day after an arrest warrant was issued against Khan&nbsp;by a magistrate at Islamabad’s Margalla Police Station in the case.

Imran was booked in a terrorism case on the complaint of Islamabad Saddar Magistrate Ali Javed for threatening the judge.

Khan is accused of making comments against Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry.

During a rally in Islamabad’s F-9 park, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman had threatened that he would "not spare" Islamabad's inspector-general, deputy inspector general, and female magistrate, vowing to bring them to justice for allegedly torturing PTI leader Shahbaz Gill.

A two-member bench headed by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah had reserved the verdict on PTI's plea earlier in the day.

In the same FIR, on other clauses, the relevant authorities will decide but the matter of terrorism has been set aside, the high court said in the order.

The cricketer-turned-politician was booked under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ACT) for making threatening remarks against an additional sessions judge and senior officials of the Islamabad Police at a rally.

Khan's lawyer contended the charge, saying that there are some basic factors required to warrant terrorism charges and that these factors were absent in the case.

"A terror case can be lodged for creating an atmosphere of fear and terror, not on the possibility of creation of such an atmosphere," he said in the court.

He argued that Khan was speaking about taking legal action and lodging a case against an IG and DIG. He claimed that a "mastermind" was responsible for this complaint against Khan.

His party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had moved the court seeking transit bail for Khan, but the top court directed the former PM to approach an anti-terrorism court (ATC) since he was booked under terrorism charges.

The complaint that was filed against Khan states that he threatened Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and police officers during a rally at Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad.

The FIR further states that Khan’s main aim was to prevent the police officers and judiciary from carrying out their legal obligations.

The FIR was registered following the complaint of Magistrate Ali Javed at Islamabad's Margalla Police Station under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Islamabad court drops terrorism charges against ex-PM Imran Khan

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruled on Tuesday that the issuance of 8068 acres of land to the Pakistan Army in Islamabad's National Park region was illegal.&nbsp;

The court has ordered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to close the picturesque Monal restaurant.

It further requested that the Ministry of Defence ensure that the rent money be placed in the exchequer.

Construction on the encroached land and establishing a golf course was and continues to be illegal, without lawful authority and jurisdiction."

The LHC, in its order, had also exempted Nawaz from paying the indemnity bond worth Rs7 billion, which the government had demanded from the PML-N supremo as a condition to let him go.

The prime minister comments had also garnered a reaction from Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, who said: "Do not hurl taunts at us for favoring the powerful, because everybody is equal before us."

During the proceedings today,<a href="https://www.wionews.com/south-asia/pakistan-islamabad-high-court-rejects-plea-to-drop-terrorism-charges-against-pervez-musharraf-254918"> IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah</a>, who was hearing the petition, asked the appellant: "What problem do you have with the prime minister's speech?" 
 
The petitioner responded that the prime minister had "ridiculed the judiciary".

A two-member bench of IHC headed by Justice Amir Farooq will conduct the proceedings, Dawn reported.

Sharif has requested the court to give an early verdict on the appeal in view of Judge Arshad Malik's video scandal.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief had also filed a petition through his counsel for exemption from hearing before the court, due to health reasons. 
The petition said that the former premier's sentence had been suspended for eight weeks and that he had gone abroad with the permission of Lahore High Court. Therefore, he could not appear before the court. 
It was further stated that Advocate Ibrahim Haroon would appear before the court on his behalf.

Sharif is in London for medical treatment after Lahore High Court allowed him to travel without "condition". He is undergoing tests and scans to diagnose his illness. 
He was rushed from Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail to the hospital last month after his personal physician raised an alarm over his deteriorating health. He was diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder, in which the immune system destroys platelets.

Accountability court Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik had on December 24 convicted Nawaz in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills Company (ASCL) and Hill Metal Establishment (HME) reference and awarded him seven years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs1.5 billion and USD 25 million.

The IHC on October 29 will hear Sharif's plea against his conviction in the reference case.
