Odisha has made appreciable progress by achieving 93 per cent Aadhaar enrolment, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Deputy Director-General G Venugopal Reddy said on Tuesday. 
 
According to an official statement, the issue was discussed at the state-level Unique Identification Implementation Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy. 
 
"Odisha has made appreciable progress in the implementation of Aadhaar enrolment. The enrolment achievement in Odisha has been more than 93 per cent against all India average of around 90 per cent," Reddy said. 
 
He also said that the progress of Odisha in other indicators was also comparatively good. 
 
According to the available data, out of the projected population of 4.58 crore by 2019, so far 4.41 crore Aadhaar numbers have been generated in the age group of 18 and above which is around 93.1 per cent of the projected population. 
 
Reviewing the progress, Tripathy directed the nodal implementing agency along with concerned departments to devise age-group specific strategies of live saturation enrolment and scale-up Odisha to among the top five states in Aadhaar implementation. 
 
"Tripathy further directed to focus on Aadhaar generation of children in the age group of 0-5 and 5-18. It was decided to link the issue of Birth Certificates to Aadhaar registration. IT Secretary Mishra presented the technical and administrative matters for age-specific strategy," the statement said. 
 
It was decided that Aadhaar facilitation centres would be opened at hospitals and urban local bodies for Aadhaar generation at the time of birth and issue of birth certificates. For the purpose, newly updated kits would be procured. Target has been set to roll out the process for registration by January 2020. 
 
Chief Secretary directed that Anganwadi centres and schools should be actively involved in Aadhaar enrolment of the children.

An&nbsp;Indian antitrust&nbsp;probe&nbsp;has found that&nbsp;units&nbsp;of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/business-economy/indian-markets-end-big-as-bse-sensex-hits-lifetime-high-264376">Tata&nbsp;Steel&nbsp;Ltd</a>, Sweden's AB&nbsp;SKF&nbsp; and Germany's&nbsp;Schaeffler&nbsp;AG&nbsp; colluded&nbsp;on the pricing of&nbsp;bearings, according to an investigation report seen by Reuters.

The Competition Commission of&nbsp;India&nbsp;(CCI) began an investigation in 2017 after receiving allegations of five companies colluding on&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;prices&nbsp;from 2009-2014 to pass higher raw material costs onto customers in the auto sector.

Bearings&nbsp;reduce friction in moving parts, helping smooth the operation of vehicles.&nbsp;India's&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;market is dominated by&nbsp;SKF&nbsp;and&nbsp;Schaeffler&nbsp;and is worth $1.3 billion, showed data from ICRA Research.

CCI's investigations arm, in a report dated May 6 which has not been made public, said it analyzed company emails, call records and executive testimonies and concluded that&nbsp;SKF&nbsp;India&nbsp;Ltd,&nbsp;Schaeffler&nbsp;India&nbsp;Ltd, National Engineering Industries and&nbsp;Tata&nbsp;Steel's&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;division contravened antitrust law by discussing and agreeing on prices.

SKF, the world's largest maker of ball-bearings, in a statement said it aided the investigation, and that "we dispute any claim of wrongdoing on the part of&nbsp;SKF".

Schaeffler&nbsp;did not respond to a request for comment.&nbsp;Tata&nbsp;Steel&nbsp;and National Engineering Industries - part of&nbsp;Indian conglomerate <a href="https://www.wionews.com/south-asia/india-hindustan-motors-sells-iconic-ambassador-brand-to-peugeot-12277">CK Birla Group</a> - declined to comment beyond saying the CCI proceedings were confidential.

The investigations arm said it found no evidence against the fifth firm, ABC&nbsp;Bearings, part of US&nbsp;firm Timken Co, the report showed. ABC&nbsp;Bearings&nbsp;declined to comment.

The report also showed the investigations arm considered the collusion lasted through the financial year to March 2011 but found no evidence to indicate when it actually ended.

The four firms, "through personal meetings of key persons, on two occasions shared the strategic information regarding their future efforts to seek price increase from" auto sector companies, the investigations arm said in its 106-page report.

The CCI did not respond to a Reuters request for comment. A person with direct knowledge of the matter said senior CCI officials are reviewing the report and that the antitrust body is able to dispute the findings of its investigation arm.

The CCI can fine firms up to three times the profit made in each year of wrongdoing or 10 per cent&nbsp;of revenue, whichever is higher.

In 2014, European Union antitrust regulators fined&nbsp;SKF,&nbsp;Schaeffler&nbsp;and three Japanese auto parts makers $1.3 billion for taking part in a&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;cartel from 2004 through 2011.

The investigation report showed the four companies controlled nearly 75&nbsp;per cent&nbsp;of the domestic&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;market in the period 2009-11 - a time when&nbsp;prices&nbsp;of&nbsp;steel, the key raw material in&nbsp;bearings, were fluctuating sharply.

The steep&nbsp;steel&nbsp;price volatility, the CCI's investigation arm said, provided the companies an "incentive to collude".

There was a consensus among the firms "to seek a price increase of 12per cent&nbsp;and settle at 6 per cent" with a tractor and automotive manufacturers. With motorbike makers, there was a consensus to seek a 10% price increase and settle at 4 per cent, the report showed.

The investigation arm also said&nbsp;Schaeffler&nbsp;and National Engineering Industries told the CCI that employees had participated in discussions with competitors "mainly to seek coordinated price increase of&nbsp;bearings". It did not elaborate on when the companies disclosed discussions to the CCI.

During the&nbsp;probe, ABC&nbsp;Bearings,&nbsp;SKF, and&nbsp;Tata&nbsp;Steel's&nbsp;bearings&nbsp;division told the CCI they had no evidence of such discussions, the report showed.

"The conduct of the parties has resulted in an appreciable adverse effect on competition," the CCI investigation arm said in the report. "The sharing of price information is particularly sensitive to the competition law perspective."

Bella Chowana Panchayat member Niaz Ahmed said that the officers asked the villagers about their issues and development programmes in the region.

"I especially bow down to 130 crore Indians, who never let their faith in India's democracy diminish. Always considered our constitution to be a holy book, a guiding light," the Prime Minister told the parliamentarians.

"The Constitution is the soul of our democracy. Our constitution, which binds the world's largest democracy in the thread of unity, is also federal and unitary," the Union Minister said in another tweet. 
 
November 26, which was earlier celebrated as Law Day, marks the day when India had adopted its Constitution back in 1949, more than two years after attaining independence from the British rule. 
 
Constitution Day is celebrated to mark the adoption&nbsp;of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949. It came into force on 26th January 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of the Indian Republic. 
 
The Constitution day was first celebrated in 2015 as a mark of tribute to India's first Law Minister Bhim Rao Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Indian Constitution. 
 
The declaration regarding the same was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 11, 2015, while laying the foundation stone of Statue of Equality in Mumbai.

On the 70th anniversary, the government has also planned to launch a campaign to make aware people about the fundamental duties that are mentioned in Part-5A of the Constitution. 
 
Meanwhile, Opposition parties staged a protest outside the Parliament as a joint sitting of both the Houses was underway in the Central Hall. 
 
Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, AK Antony among others boycotted the joint-session and protested outside the Parliament premises in front of the Ambedkar Statue opposing government formation in Maharashtra by BJP. 
 
The Opposition parties have announced to boycott the President Ram Nath Kovind's address at the joint sitting as well.

India has consolidated its position at the top of ICC World Test Championship with 360 points&nbsp;without losing a point in the nine-team Championship. India secured a 2-0 win against West Indies, 3-0 against South Africa and now 2-0 against Bangladesh.

Kohli's team is followed by Australia who are at 116 points after winning their first <a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/brisbane-test-australia-beat-pakistan-by-an-innings-and-5-runs-264221">Test against Pakistan</a> in the ongoing home series after defeating Pakistan by an innings and 5 runs.

“We'll ask Virat and see if we can get his permission to play here and maybe even a pink-ball Test if he is in a good mood. So we'll wait and see,” Paine said in a post-match press conference to reporters.

India and Australia are set to play a Test series Down Under&nbsp;next year.

India had last year turned down the offer to play a day/night Test against Australia in Adelaide. On India’s decision not to play the match, captain Virat Kohli had said that the team wanted to play with the pink ball in home conditions first.

A total of 12 day-night Tests have been played so far with Australia leading the charts winning all 5 Tests. Australia had won the first-ever day/night against New Zealand at Adelaide by 3 wickets in 2015.

Kohli in the post-match conference on Sunday expressed openness about playing a '<a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/daynight-test-virat-kohli-registers-27th-test-century-264062">pink ball' Test </a>away from home.

“Just because we know our conditions and our bowlers are bowling so well, you do not really feel that challenge. Maybe when we play away from home, we will figure out what could be even more difficult playing with the pink ball," Kohli told reporters.

"But I think a good practice game before that and enough time to prepare, we are open to doing anything. You cannot just play on short notice. If we get enough time to prepare, we are willing to do anything that is required to take up Test cricket in any manner," he added.
