"All the cases of AKI are linked to the consumption of contaminated medical products...manufactured by Maiden Pharmaceuticals," Amadou Camara, the panel's chairperson, said in a statement in Parliament, a report by news agency Reuters said.&nbsp;

The panel, meanwhile, said in its report that the Gambian government should pursue legal action against Maiden Pharmaceuticals for exporting contaminated drugs. The panel demanded that the company&nbsp;should be blacklisted and its products be banned in Gambia's market.&nbsp; 
 
"Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is culpable and should be held accountable for exporting the contaminated medicines that were linked to the death of at least 70 children in Gambia&nbsp; in 2022," it said, AFP reported on Tuesday.

The Gambian parliamentary panel also said that a scientific investigation is ongoing into the cause of deaths and the bereaved families should receive compensation.

In October, the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued an alert over four cough and cold syrups manufactured by the Indian drug maker. The WHO said that laboratory tests found unacceptable levels of potentially life-threatening contaminants. The United Nations health agency also highlighted that these products might have been distributed beyond Gambia.&nbsp;

Naresh Kumar Goyal, the company's director, has denied that deaths were caused by the cold and cough syrups. Last Friday, Goyal told Reuters that his company had done no wrong.&nbsp;

India's health secretary Rajesh Bhushan, in a letter to all states, urged them to increase genome sequencing of positive case samples.&nbsp;

"Such an exercise will enable timely detection of newer variants, if any, circulating in the country and will facilitate the undertaking of requisite public health measures for the same," Bhushan said.

According to reports, the variant has already been detected in Germany, Denmark, Belgium, and France.&nbsp;

BF.7 is a sub-lineage of Omicron variant BA.5 and has been named as the strongest one. It is easily transmissible, with a high capacity to cause infection.

The one-page resolution explained, "system of recognizing reincarnated spiritual beings is a religious practice unique to Nalanda Buddhism and the philosophy of the principle of life after death", adding, "no government or any individual has the right to interfere in this matter". &nbsp;Important to remember that China's communist govt could interfere in the tradition and might appoint its own Dalai Lama which makes the resolution passed on Tuesday at the 2nd governing council meeting of the organisation even more important.&nbsp;

IHCNBT was formed in 2018 and has the top Buddhist leadership of the Indian union territory of Ladakh and states like Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. These states and union territories bordering China administered Tibet. The name of the organisation was given by Dalai Lama. The resolution pointed out, "the sole authority on the reincarnation of his holiness the Dalai Lama is Gaden Phodang institution. No one, including China- should interfere with such a holy and devotional process".&nbsp;

Tibetan Buddhism has seen the heir to India's Nalanda tradition of Buddhism. Asked about Beijing's keenness to appoint the next Dalai Lama, President of the organisation Lochen Rimpoche told WION, "don't worry about the Chinese government, His Holiness Dalai Lama is the supreme spiritual leader of all the Buddhist, not only the Himalayan region but other countries..Chinese govt try something but will not impact the institution".

Unlike China, Indian govt so far has never made a comment on the appointment of Next Dalai Lama. The Vice President of the organisation,&nbsp;Venerable Jangchup Choeden Rinpoche highlighted that, "China is preparing a lot of things to take over the agenda. For us, Himalayan Buddhists, His Holiness, his institution, and continuing of this institution is very important point. His Holiness is very strongly connected to Himalayan region". The General Secretary of the council, Maling Gombo, further added, "issue of reincarnation of Dalai Lama is purely a religious and cultural issue, no other authority has any role to interfere in the process".

A 52-year-old Indian man in the United Kingdom's (UK) Kettering has been charged with murdering his wife and their two children. According to the Northamptonshire Police on Saturday, Saju Chelavalel has been charged with the murders of &nbsp;Anju Asok, aged 35, Jeeva Saju, aged six and Janvi Saju, aged four.&nbsp;

"Mr Chelavalel, of Petherton Court, Kettering, was arrested by officers who were called to his address at 11.15 am on December 15," the police said in a statement. He will appear at the Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.&nbsp;

Anju and Saju got married in 2012 and they moved to the UK last year.&nbsp;

"Our thoughts continue to be with the family of Anju, Jeeva and Janvi, who we are determined to seek justice for," Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Simon Barnes said on Saturday.&nbsp;

''We will continue to have members of our Neighbourhood Policing Team on patrol in the area and I urge anyone with any concerns to please speak to them,” Barnes added.&nbsp;

Anju Asok, who belonged to the Indian state of Kerala, was a nurse by profession and had been working at the Kettering General Hospital since last year.&nbsp;

Tributes started pouring in for Asok with the hospital's chief executive Deborah Needham saying that she was a committed and compassionate staff nurse, who was loved and respected by her dear friends and colleagues, according to a report by the Guardian on Sunday.&nbsp;

"All our thoughts are with her friends and family as they come to terms with this sudden loss,'' Needham added.

Finland's Employment Minister Tuula Haatainen, who was on an&nbsp;India visit last week, has said that her country would like to have more Indian talent and has reduced permit time for faster movement of people. Speaking exclusively to our diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Minister Haatainen said, "It is very important we exchange talent and people from India can come to Finland to live normal life, find jobs."

During the India visit, the minister had a meeting with the Minister of state for external affairs V. Muraleedharan as both sides signed a joint declaration of intent on migration and mobility. Pact on mobility, once signed, will help in easier movement of people, especially from India to Finland. India has been keen on signing mobility pact with a number of countries for easier movement of people, the last such pact was signed with Germany earlier this month.

According to Indian government estimates, around 15,469 persons of Indian origin (7231 NRIs and 8232 OCIs) live in Finland. Most live in the capital Helsinki and surrounding regions. &nbsp;In recent years, Indian professionals are being employed in high-tech companies. About 1200 Indian students are pursuing higher education. About half are pursuing master's degrees and the other are in doctorate programmes.

WION: What is the key focus for you during your India visit?

Tuula Haatainen: Key focus is to cooperate with India, because in Finland we need talent, and we see India as a very important partner country and the meaning of this visit was also to meet Indian ministers. I had the opportunity to meet with them and understood that we have a common view on the issue. It is very important we exchange talent and people from India can come to Finland to live normal life, find jobs.

WION: &nbsp;You signed a pact on intent on mobility, what is the key focus of the pact?

Tuula Haatainen: Key focus is to now enhance the mobility of the talent. It is very important that now on the government level we have signed this intent, this declaration of intent and now we are hoping to continue the cooperation.

WION: You are willing to welcome Indians, and in which sector

Tuula Haatainen: Especially in IT, technology, skilled people. On the whole, the technology sector is very important. It is estimated that we need 130,000&nbsp;professionals at different levels in the technology sector and IT is very important, because Finland is a very advanced country in digitalisation. Then we need health care sector people, we need nurses. This is an issue I have been talking about with my Indian counterpart.

WION: How do Finland and India plan to increase people to people movement and trade..

Tuula Haatainen: We are now focusing on making ways to come to Finland faster, so we shortened the permit process. Now specialists and startups and their families can get permits in two weeks. As a whole, permit processes will be shortened for the others for one month. We also focusing on how people get integrated in the Finnish society. For example, spouse programme, so that if a couple is coming to Finland the family can get job.

Speaking exclusively to our diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Minister Haatainen said, "It is very important we exchange talent and people from India can come to Finland to live normal life, find jobs." During the India visit, the minister had a meeting with the Minister of state for external affairs V. Muraleedharan as both sides signed a joint declaration of intent on migration and mobility. Pact on mobility, once signed, will help in easier movement of people, especially from India to Finland. India has been keen on signing mobility pact with a number of countries for easier movement of people, the last such pact was signed with Germany earlier this month. According to Indian government estimates, around 15,469 persons of Indian origin (7231 NRIs and 8232 OCIs) live in Finland. Most live in the capital Helsinki and surrounding regions. In recent years, Indian professionals are being employed in high-tech companies. About 1200 Indian students are pursuing higher education. About half are pursuing master's degrees and the other are in doctorate programmes. WION: What is the key focus for you during your India visit? Tuula Haatainen: Key focus is to cooperate with India, because in Finland we need talent, and we see India as a very important partner country and the meaning of this visit was also to meet Indian ministers. I had the opportunity to meet with them and understood that we have a common view on the issue. It is very important we exchange talent and people from India can come to Finland to live normal life, find jobs. WION: You signed a pact on intent on mobility, what is the key focus of the pact? Tuula Haatainen: Key focus is to now enhance the mobility of the talent. It is very important that now on the government level we have signed this intent, this declaration of intent and now we are hoping to continue the cooperation. WION: You are willing to welcome Indians, and in which sector Tuula Haatainen: Especially in IT, technology, skilled people. On the whole, the technology sector is very important. It is estimated that we need 130,000 professionals at different levels in the technology sector and IT is very important, because Finland is a very advanced country in digitalisation. Then we need health care sector people, we need nurses. This is an issue I have been talking about with my Indian counterpart. WION: How do Finland and India plan to increase people to people movement and trade.. Tuula Haatainen: We are now focusing on making ways to come to Finland faster, so we shortened the permit process. Now specialists and startups and their families can get permits in two weeks. As a whole, permit processes will be shortened for the others for one month. We also focusing on how people get integrated in the Finnish society. For example, spouse programme, so that if a couple is coming to Finland the family can get job.

Despite the disruptions due to Covid pandemic, bilateral trade grew at almost 44% from US$ 10.78 billion in FY 2020-21 to US$ 18.14 billion in FY 2021-22. India is also Bangladesh’s largest export destination in Asia.

During the Bangladesh trade minister's visit, Dhaka's focus will also be on getting more essential items like wheat from India. Amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, prices of commodities globally have increased and New Delhi is reaching out to neighbours with supplies. To help low-income countries fight against price rise and shortage of foodstuff, India has exported more than 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to countries in need, including Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sudan, and Yemen.

Dhaka will also raise the issue of anti-dumping duties on Bangladesh's jute and jute-made products. India had imposed an anti-dumping duty on Bangladesh jute in January 2017 which has been extended till 31st December this year.

An Indian-American woman, accused of tossing her newborn into a Florida inlet in 2018, appeared in court on Friday on a first-degree murder charge. Arya Singh, 29, was arrested on Thursday in the death of her female infant who was named “Baby June” by the authorities, a report by the Associated Press said.&nbsp;

The newborn's body was found floating in the seaside inlet in Florida on June 1, 2018, by an off-duty Boynton Beach firefighter.&nbsp;

On Friday, during a brief hearing, a Palm Beach County judge ordered Arya Singh&nbsp;be held without bail. Singh, who works as a security guard did not enter a plea at the hearing. Her next court date is on January 17.&nbsp;

Detective Brittany Christoffel, who was heading the case, said, "She (Arya Singh) said when the baby was born, she wasn't sure if the baby was alive or dead and that was that," a report by news agency ANI said.&nbsp;

The Baby June case was solved by the Palm Beach sheriff’s detectives using DNA collected from the father and Singh.

Detective Christoffel said the investigating team tracked down the father who submitted to the DNA test and told investigators about a woman he was dating at the time who told him that she was pregnant but took care of it. The father assumed it meant an abortion, Christoffel said.&nbsp;

The detective added that the investigators were able to grab covert DNA that belonged to Singh by picking up garbage she threw.&nbsp;

If convicted, Arya Singh faces life in prison or the death penalty.&nbsp;

The word's basic elements are the guru and there are two rules that apply if one follows Panini's instructions to produce the term that would imply "by the guru" — one for the word "guru" and one for "."
