The meeting was attended by security chiefs of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in which they discussed various issues related to Afghanistan, including the security situation and humanitarian challenges facing the country.

On the issue of terrorism, Doval reaffirmed the importance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2593 (2021), which calls for denying sanctuary to terror outfits, including those designated by UNSCR 1267. &nbsp;The resolution was passed under the Indian presidency of the security council in August 2021. &nbsp;

Radars, Very Short-Range Air Defence Systems (VSHORADS), anti-drone systems, and mini-unmanned aerial vehicles are the categories of products that will be showcased in the week-long defence and aerospace exhibition, which is said to be the largest in Asia.&nbsp;

The company said that it has a workforce of more than 1800 employees in the Indian cities of Noida and Bengaluru, where their Global Engineering Centres focus on hardware, software and systems engineering capabilities for both civil and defence sectors, serving global needs. 
 
"Working today with 75 suppliers, generating more than 1900 indirect jobs in India, Thales has expanded locally with joint ventures and other partnerships, such as with Bharat Dynamics Limited to manufacture 60 per cent&nbsp;of the Laser Beam Riding Man-portable air defence system (MANPAD LBRM) system, a top product that Thales will display at the show alongside other defence equipment with local content." In layman's terms, MANPAD are portable, shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles that pose a threat to low-flying aircraft and helicopters.

"Thales will showcase its airborne optronics capability: the 2-in-1 targeting &amp; reconnaissance&nbsp;pod TALIOS (Targeting Long-range Identification Optronic System), Under the navigations segment, the TopAxyz inertial navigation system for air, naval and land transport will be featured. In support of the Indian Navy, Thales will showcase Sonoflash, a new generation of sonobuoy that strengthens anti-submarine warfare capabilities", the company said.

For the Indian civil aviation sector, Thales looks to offer its 'AVANT Up', an inflight entertainment solution. On the drones and anti-drone systems front, the firm will be exhibiting the&nbsp;Spyranger drones, counter-unmanned aerial vehicle solutions that detect, classify and neutralise micro- and mini-drones to protect people, secure critical infrastructure, etc.

French aerospace and defence firm Thales will be exhibiting a host of military and commercial aviation and earth observation hardware at the Aero India 2023 event that is to take place in Bengaluru from February 13 to 17.

Radars, Very Short-Range Air Defence Systems (VSHORADS), anti-drone systems, and mini-unmanned aerial vehicles are the categories of products that will be showcased in the week-long defence and aerospace exhibition, which is said to be the largest in Asia. The company said that it has a workforce of more than 1800 employees in the Indian cities of Noida and Bengaluru, where their Global Engineering Centres focus on hardware, software and systems engineering capabilities for both civil and defence sectors, serving global needs. "Working today with 75 suppliers, generating more than 1900 indirect jobs in India, Thales has expanded locally with joint ventures and other partnerships, such as with Bharat Dynamics Limited to manufacture 60 per cent of the Laser Beam Riding Man-portable air defence system (MANPAD LBRM) system, a top product that Thales will display at the show alongside other defence equipment with local content." In layman's terms, MANPAD are portable, shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles that pose a threat to low-flying aircraft and helicopters. "Thales will showcase its airborne optronics capability: the 2-in-1 targeting & reconnaissance pod TALIOS (Targeting Long-range Identification Optronic System), Under the navigations segment, the TopAxyz inertial navigation system for air, naval and land transport will be featured. In support of the Indian Navy, Thales will showcase Sonoflash, a new generation of sonobuoy that strengthens anti-submarine warfare capabilities", the company said. For the Indian civil aviation sector, Thales looks to offer its 'AVANT Up', an inflight entertainment solution. On the drones and anti-drone systems front, the firm will be exhibiting the Spyranger drones, counter-unmanned aerial vehicle solutions that detect, classify and neutralise micro- and mini-drones to protect people, secure critical infrastructure, etc. “As we celebrate 70 years in India, Thales is eager to pursue its long-standing commitment to partner with India in its big ambitions, including the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) vision. The minister expressed that Finland, as a leading technology country, has a lot to offer and both countries can build a mutually beneficial relationship.

He explained, "India is a very important partner for Finland and although we had covid pandemic, the figures, our companies are more and more keen to do things. We have opened flight connections between Finland and Mumbai. Finland is very much present in India, and would like to work with your ministers".&nbsp;

During his visit, Skinnari will open Finland's Consulate in Mumbai, which he considers a step forward in promoting regional-level collaborations. The minister acknowledged the huge potential that India holds and was confident that the bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to grow.

While in India, Skinnari will hold talks with the Indian ministers of commerce, telecom, and railways while he already spoke to the aviation minister. Skinnari also attended Finland's Smart Infrastructure Seminar in Mumbai, where he highlighted Finland's efforts towards carbon neutrality and its smart city initiatives.

He also emphasized that Finland is not dependent on Russian energy, and the country has invested in renewables and nuclear energy for a long time. Expressing concerns over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the minister said, "Finland has a strong military, a rich history, and trusted partners, and the Minister believes that the country has a bright future ahead."

On his country's NATO membership, he said, "Process is there, the process is pending, Finland is a country with strong resilience, we believe we can find a solution, together with Sweden, and we hope that it very soon."

In response to the massive earthquake in Turkiye, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued instructions for "all possible assistance" to the country in the aftermath of the disaster. Hundreds are feared dead in the earthquake that measured 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale and was felt in many neighbouring countries.

A PMO statement said, "It was decided that Search &amp; Rescue Teams of NDRF and Medical Teams along with relief material would be dispatched immediately in coordination with the Government of Republic of Turkiye."&nbsp;

Dr&nbsp;PK&nbsp;Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, took stock of the situation and discussed immediate relief measures. The meeting was attended by high-level government officials, including the Cabinet Secretary, and representatives from the Ministries of Home Affairs, NDMA, NDRF, Defence, MEA, Civil Aviation, and Health &amp; Family Welfare.&nbsp;
