<p>The Assam government initiated the process to incorporate Bihu to the Guinness Book of World Records, and its culture department paid the associated costs, as reported by India Today.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patent, Designs and Trademarks and Registrar of GI Registry, presented Himanta with the Geographical Indication registration certificate for "gamosa."</p>

<p>Five years after the initial application, in December 2022, the central government granted the GI tag to "Gamosa," a representation of Assamese culture and identity.</p>

<p>Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi has been&nbsp;called by the CBI on Sunday (April 16) for questioning&nbsp;over alleged corruption in the capital's now-scrapped alcohol sales policy.&nbsp;Manish Sisodia, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former deputy chief minister of Delhi, is currently in jail in connection with the same case, and law enforcement authorities have made other arrests.</p>

<p>An order from the Goa Police for Kejriwal to appear for questioning on April 27 in connection with an alleged defacement of public property has also been issued.</p>

<p>Even though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been asserting that Kejriwal was the brains behind the alleged scam, this is the first time the CBI has summoned the chief minister in the investigation, reported the Hindustan Times.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Calling the CBI summons as a conspiracy to arrest Kejriwal, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, “I'd like to tell the PM - you and your Govt are covered in corruption from head to toe and Arvind Kejriwal's fight will not stop with this CBI summon. The conspiracy hatched by you to arrest, jail and take action against Arvind Kejriwal on 16th April will not stifle his voice.”</p>

<p>A road rage video has gone viral recently on social networks in which a family was attacked and threatened by stunt bikers on the outskirts of Srinagar for filming a video of stunt biking. The J&amp;K Police and its traffic wing has formed special teams to identify individuals involved in stunt biking and posing a threat to the life of common people. The traffic police are also taking action against repeat offenders of stunt biking incidents.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We have started acting tough and the repeated and habitual offenders are being dealt with sternly while those who are doing it for the first time are being counselled in front of their parents before letting them go. We have summoned a few, and are trying to reach out to the maximum to counsel them. In addition to law enforcement, parents have an important role in preventing such incidents. If they want to provide their children two-wheelers or other vehicles, they should make sure they have all the necessary documentation, safety equipment, and, most importantly, whether or not they are eligible to drive,'' said Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, SSP Traffic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kashmir region has witnessed multiple deaths and injuries due to these bike stunts. A youngster died recently in a bike collision on the famous boulevard road of Dal Lake while doing a stunt. The videos on social networks of these bike stunts led to a lot of citizens approaching the traffic police to curb bike stunts. The police say&nbsp;that they won't allow these youngsters to endanger their lives and of the pedestrians.&nbsp;The issue of road rage and stunt biking is not restricted to the Srinagar city only but various parts of the region as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">WION has learnt that the Indian Government's Department of Space is facilitating the technology transfer of Russian-origin 'RD-191' semi-cryogenic rocket engines to Indian industry. This technology transfer is meant to enable Indian industries to manufacture the Russian-origin rocket engine in India.</p>

<p dir="ltr">This also opens up the possibility of exporting the made-in-India 'RD-191' engines and using the engine as part of India's heaviest rocket LVM3, thereby enhancing its payload carrying capability. India and Russia are learnt to have been in talks for a long time, regarding the sale of the 'RD-191' engines.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">The 'RD-191' is a high-performance rocket engine fuelled by kerosene and liquid oxygen. It falls under the category semi-cryogenic, as its fuel kerosene can be stored at room temperature and the oxidiser liquid oxygen has to be stored at super-cooled temperatures (below -150 degrees Centigrade).</p>

<p dir="ltr">India currently operates three kinds of engines on its operational rockets — solid-fuelled, liquid-fuelled and cryogenic (where liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are stored at super-cooled temperatures).</p>

<p dir="ltr">In a recent interview with the Russian News Agency Interfax, Andrey Elchaninov, First Deputy Director General of Russian Space Agency Roscosmos, was asked about the possibility of supplying India with RD-191 engines.</p>

<p dir="ltr">He had said that India and Russia were discussing the details, characteristics and scope of deliveries of the RD-191 engines. "We hope to enter into a contract in the near future. We do not interrupt cooperation with anyone, we are open to all foreign customers" he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">As the discussions are underway for the Russian-origin semi-cryogenic engine, the Indian Space agency ISRO is also gearing up for the maiden test of its indigenously-developed semi-cryogenic engine, a 2000kN engine powered by kerosene and liquid oxygen.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Dubbed as SCE-2000' the semi-cryo engine is being developed by ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. While the engine is a standalone component, it is eventually integrated with fuel tanks and additional components, thereby completing what is known as a rocket stage. ISRO calls its semi-cryo stage 'SC-120'. For this engine, ISRO has developed a kerosene-based fuel that they call 'ISROSENE'.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">In its latest annual report, ISRO had said that "the development of seven out of eight engine subsystems, have been completed. The intermediate configuration of the engine (Power Head Test Article) has been realised, wherein all the subsystems have been manufactured through Indian industries.</p>

<p dir="ltr">One ISROSENE propellant tank and two sets of LOX propellant tanks for the semi-cryogenic stage have been realised through industry, which has successfully undergone proof pressure tests. "We are getting ready for the first-ever test of the SCE-200". Dr. S. Somanath, Chairman, ISRO, told WION.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are the most efficient cryogenic fuel combinations, storing liquid hydrogen in tanks is an extremely complicated and challenging engineering feat. Liquid hydrogen is explosive in nature and expensive to produce.</p>

<p>Rocket-grade kerosene is simpler to handle as it can be stored at room temperature and owing to its high-density, large quantities can be stored in moderate-sized tanks. The low-density of liquid hydrogen means that large tanks are required to store even a small quantity of it, thereby increasing the size and mass of the rocket stage.</p>

<p>The India Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar meeting is a significant development in strengthening the connectivity between India, Central Asia, and Iran. The meeting included representatives from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with Iran and the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) as special invitees. It is one of the key outcomes of the Delhi Declaration from the first India Central Asia summit held in January last year, which aimed to enhance cooperation and collaboration in various areas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Chabahar port, located in the southeastern Iranian city of Chabahar, is strategically positioned as a commercial transit hub for the region. India, Iran, and Afghanistan signed a trilateral agreement in 2016 to establish the International Transport and Transit Corridor (Chabahar Agreement), with India committing USD 85 Million in total grant assistance and a credit facility of USD 150 Million for the development of the Shahid Behesti Terminal, Chabahar Port. India has also provided equipment worth USD 25 Million to aid in the development of the port, including six Mobile Harbour Cranes.</p>

<p>The Chabahar free trade zone established by Iran aims to attract investment and utilize the advantages of the port, which is the only oceanic port in Iran. The development of the Shahid Behesti Terminal and the utilization of the Chabahar port by participating countries is expected to increase economic and trade opportunities for the region.</p>

<p>The India Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar meeting is expected to further strengthen India's connectivity focus with Central Asian countries and Iran. It provides an opportunity for the participating countries to discuss and explore possibilities for greater trade and investment cooperation, as well as the use of the Chabahar port to enhance connectivity between the regions.</p>

India has also provided equipment worth USD 25 Million to aid in the development of the port, including six Mobile Harbour Cranes. The Chabahar free trade zone established by Iran aims to attract investment and utilize the advantages of the port, which is the only oceanic port in Iran. The development of the Shahid Behesti Terminal and the utilization of the Chabahar port by participating countries is expected to increase economic and trade opportunities for the region. The India Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar meeting is expected to further strengthen India's connectivity focus with Central Asian countries and Iran.
