The ongoing crises in Pakistan are seemingly a fertile ground for yet another military coup in the country. The judiciary & the executive are openly clashing, the economy is in a tailspin. The democratic institution are failing while the people are left to fend for themselves.

Game of Politics: Pakistan stares at dangerous crossroads

It seems like Pakistan is not just divided along political lines but the divisions are way more entrenched in the entire governance apparatus. In the latest, the divisions have plagued Pakistan's apex court. Watch the video to know more.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has courted another controversy by urging the international community to recognise the Taliban. Khan said the terror outfit currently ruling over Afghanistan will not respect human rights as well as women's right to education until the international community accepts it.

“If you isolate them [Taliban], what influence are you going to have on them? If you mainstream and let them have a state, then talk about human rights. Right now, you push them into isolation; their money is frozen, so why would they listen to anyone?" Khan was quoted as saying by Khaama Press.

“My advice is to get them involved, give them a stake in the international community so that when you tell them to have girls educated, they will listen to you; right now, they are not.”

Ever since Taliban gained control over Afghanistan, the human rights in the country have gone for a toss. The women students have been barred from attending schools and universities and it looks highly unlikely if they will be allowed back anytime soon.

Notably, this is not the first instance where Khan has come across as a Taliban apologist. As the PM, speaking at the 17th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 2021, Khan said the Taliban's culture is comparable to that of Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where parents were paid stipends to send their daughters to school, but they were not sent to school.

Asif further blamed the PTI chairman for imprisoning the leaders of PML-N during his tenure. He stated that he was jailed during the three-year tenure of Khan and his party leaders also had to face court trials in fake cases. Asif added that everyday crises are being created by Khan but those are being tackled by the government and soon Pakistan will resolve all the crises. He added that a false narrative was made by the former prime minister about the US conspiracy but due to the interference of the Supreme Court, the country was saved from a constitutional crisis. Meanwhile, Imran Khan appealed that judges look into the constitutional violations that have taken place because of the general elections' postponement, reported ARY News. Pakistan's finance ministry does not have funds to conduct elections, says defence minister

Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party has reportedly hired a firm for lobbying in the United States to make authorities aware of the threats faced by Pakistan’s former prime minister.

Dawn newspaper, quoting a senior party leader, reported that the PTI’s US unit signed a contract with a Washington-based lobbying firm, Praia Consultants LLC, on February 21 this year. The contract will be valid for six months and can be renewed for another six-month term with mutual consent.

The New York-based PTI unit will pay $8,333 per month to the US firm. Under the contract, the firm “shall provide expert advice regarding the client’s relationship with the US government and institutions”.

The firm shall also “organise meetings with several key US decision-makers and will provide guidance in terms of the content of the meetings”.

The details of the agreement were revealed only on Wednesday, a month after the contract was signed after Pakistan’s former US ambassador Hussain Haqqani posted a copy of the contract on his Twitter handle.
