<p>Speaking in detail on how he dealt with the injury and&nbsp;the rehabilitation phase, Krishna said, much like every pacer, he signed up for injuries and hard and long-working days, agreeing that all of this is part and parcel of the game.</p>

<p>Though he admitted getting restless over his unavailability for longer duration, the right-hand seamer added he remains optimistic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I'm not someone who gets excited or nervous about anything. I take it in a balanced way. As fast bowlers, you sign up for injuries, you sign up for hard-working days, you sign up for long days... all that is a part of our game. I mean, it's not easy when everybody is playing a lot of cricket. There's so much happening, and you're sitting at home not really being available for selection, but I was optimistic," Krishna told ESPNcricinfo.</p>

<h2>So close, yet so far</h2>

<p>Krishna revealed his road to recovery wasn’t smooth and pleasing and that there were moments when he realised he was far away from returning to the field.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I was a little restless, of course, in the initial phase before the surgery, as to why it was taking so long, especially since I'd started bowling. There were days when I felt great and like 'Oh, I'm ready to play', but then after two more sessions, I'd realise I need a lot more of these and at the same intensity for the body to condition itself,” he added.</p>

<p>Krishna said his perception changed after he went under the knife. He added taking one day at a time, and that’s what made him enjoy his training.</p>

<p>“If I have to look to play at the highest level, the intensity is going to be high. Once the surgery was done, I was prepared that it was going to take time. I changed the way I looked at things. I took it one day at a time. I was enjoying my training; I had a good time with my family. Great things happened. I was very optimistic and positive," Krishna added.</p>

<p>With BCCI’s selection committee set to announce squads for the Asia Cup and World Cup 2023, a fit-again Krishna hopes to make the cut.</p>

<p>Though it remains unclear when he will return in the reckoning for selection, Team India brought in several newcomers in the meantime, with mostly all getting good chances.</p>

<p>“A lot of other bowlers, like Mukesh, who have done well in Ranji cricket, and bowlers who have been also part of the team like Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh, there will be an opportunity to work with them,” Mhambrey added.</p>

<p>"I did not have any clue that this kind of decision can come. As the World Cup is close there were no talks about the change of captaincy, and from a player like him, when such things (announcement of sudden retirement) come, it is very unfortunate," Nazmul said.</p>

<p>In consultation with the foreign and interior ministries, the Pakistan government will decide when will the delegation travel to India. The decision around the same is expected following the appointment of the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.</p>

<p>As per the official source, the delegation will represent the PCB and inspect the venues where Pakistan will play its matches, alongside checking the security arrangements made for the players and fans.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup," the official source said, as quoted by Times of India.</p>

<p>“So yes, everybody is excited. A bit nervous as well, I won’t lie. This team can do wonders, and it would be good for our nation if we win the World Cup in India,” Imam added.</p>

<p>Having opened during the previous edition in England in 2019, the left-handed batter feels he has come a long way as a batter since then. Averaging just over 51 in ODIs, Imam said he is more mature as a batter, and as a senior, he has responsibility on his shoulders too.</p>

<p>“Yes, I really believe. If I ask myself, if I see in the mirror, Imam-ul-Haq is very different from 2019 to 2023. I’m older, much more mature,” he said. “And as a senior, now I have the responsibility. I’ve developed my shots as well. From last four years, my performances have gone up to a good level, so I want to continue that.”</p>
