<p>Erdogan made these remarks while addressing a pro-Palestinian rally in Istanbul amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We will tell the whole world that Israel is a war criminal. We are making preparations for this. We will declare Israel a war criminal," he said adding, "Israel has been openly committing war crimes for 22 days, but the Western leaders cannot even call on Israel for a ceasefire, let alone react to it."&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a post on social media X, which has since been deleted, the PM, who is also referred to as Bibi by his supporters, said, “At no time and no stage was a warning given to Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding war intentions of Hamas. On the contrary, all security officials, including the head of army intelligence and the head of the Shin Bet, estimated that Hamas was deterred and interested in an arrangement."</p>

<p>He had posted on social media after a joint press conference with Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister Benny Gantz.</p>

<p>However, this post caused massive uproar among the political establishment and the public, and even among his cabinet, forcing Netanyahu to withdraw his statement and issue a rare apology hours later.</p>

<p>Khaled Mashal was appointed as Hamas Politburo's chairman in 2017 and was also its founding member. For many years, Mashal remained the outfit's key leadership figure.<br />

As per BBC, Khaled Mashal was born in the West Bank and grew up in Jordan and Kuwait. He became the political leader in exile of Hamas in 2004. He never stayed in Gaza and continued to operate from Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Qatar.<br />

As per the foreign ministry of Israel, Khaled Mashal is currently based in Qatar and his net worth is $4 billion.</p>

<p>The demonstrators were seen carrying anti-Israel banners with anti-semitic slogans such as “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free." The rally headed north along Flatbush Avenue to the Barclays Center, and then converged on the Brooklyn Bridge.</p>

<p>A 67-year-old woman reportedly said,&nbsp;“It’s not a question of ‘justified.’ If you are occupied, you fight back and do what they did…they will fight back."&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I’m in support of the solidarity of the Palestinian people because the genocide of now, I mean, there’s been so many times I can push you before you push back right?” said another Palestinian supporter.</p>
