<p>They had admitted their child in the hospital for curing dengue. The child, however, succumbed to the disease.</p>

<p>The statement came after a committee of senior doctors, formed by the state government, gave its recommendations.</p>

<p>The committee also alleged several irregularities, including refusal of appropriate ambulance service to the patient, not following leave against medical advice (LAMA) protocol, and overcharging.</p>

<p>&quot;The girl was on ventilator in the hospital, but she was provided with an ordinary ambulance. The ventilator system was withdrawn and an ambu bag was also not provided. This eventually led to the girl&#39;s death,&quot; Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said.</p>

<p>The Haryana Government will now file an FIR against the Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for death due to negligence and will also ask the Medical Council of India (MCI) to take an action against the hospital which may include cancelling of its licence.</p>

<p>The committee also found the Fortis Hospital guilty of overcharging for medicines and platelets and has sent a notice for cancellation of its blood bank&#39;s licence.</p>

<p>It was also found by the committee that the hospital did not provide 20 per cent RBD to the patient&#39;s family, violating a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).</p>

<p>The parents of the girl claim&nbsp;that the hospital staff kept their daughter on the ventilator for three days even after she had stopped responding to the treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The child died on 14 September 2017.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hospital, on the other hand, claims that there was nothing wrong on their part and that they followed all &quot;standard medical protocols and clinical guidelines&quot;.</p>

<p>The hospital authorities said that the girl was brought to their hospital from another hospital on the morning of August 31, 2017. The girl was admitted with severe dengue which progressed to dengue shock syndrome.</p>

<p>The hospital claims that there was a progressive fall in her platelet count and hemoconcentration.&nbsp;With consistent deteriorating of her health, the girl was put on on ventilator support within 48 hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It further said that they were continuously updating the parents of the critical condition of the child.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the hospital, the parents decided to take the daughter out of the hospital on 14th September. Their decision was against medical advice (LAMA-Leave Against Medical Advice). The hospital said that girl died on the same day.</p>

<p>The Union Health Minister has assured to take cognition of the matter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Teachers may have their favourite pupil but they are not supposed to discriminate between students. As a teacher, I had my favourites, however, I did not let that dictate my professional life. I can still recall, the quiet, bright boy sitting at the corner of the classroom or the argumentative, energetic girl sitting at the front desk. I liked few of them more than the others. But I was not allowed to privilege one over the other.&nbsp;If this more benign form of favouritism is a taboo in academia, can you imagine how heinous it is to cover up the death of a murdered student because the school administration is close to the parents of the accused?</p>

The banality of evil did not die with holocaust perpetrators, such as Eichmann. This kind of people very much lives amidst us.<br />

<p>We may give a vent to our anger and frustration with Pradyuman&#39;s death by making the accused look like a monster. Yes, he has committed a monstrous act if we believe in what CBI is telling us. But we have to stop and ask ourselves what caused the boy to act that day. At 16, he is of an age when he will play football and not plan a murder. What was he so scared of that murdering someone looked less scary to him?</p>

She never allowed her students to compete with others. Her words, I still remember, emphasised&nbsp;on the need of improving one&#39;s own self.</p>

<p>I strongly feel that we are not adhering to this life motto anymore. We all want spectacular success for our kids, which by itself is not an illegal thought but if that pressure of expectation is pushing our kids into life-threatening activities, there must be something terribly wrong with our dreams.</p>

<p>Let all of our kids prosper. Let them live a life of milk and honey. But as parents, as teachers, as members of the civil society, we have to make sure that we act as their lifeguards. Rather than seek escape routes&nbsp;in the dark alleys of crime, they have to reach out to us if they feel insecure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We shouldn&#39;t fail our children. If we do, then the blood they spill is in our hands too.</p>

<p>The Gurugram Police has busted a &quot;casino-cum-bar&quot; illegally running from a house in the posh South City area of Millennium City, an official said.</p>

<p>The police said that it had arrested 43 people, including the manager and four women, on charges of gambling in a raid.</p>

<p>&quot;The team was deployed near a house and a raid was conducted. Seeing the police party, all the 43 people, including the women, who were playing in the casino-cum-mini bar tried to escape.</p>

<p>&quot;They were later caught. The majority of accused were businessmen. They are residents of Delhi and Gurugram,&quot; Police PRO Ravinder Kumar told PTI.</p>

<p>They have been booked under relevant sections of the Gambling Act, the Arms Act and the Excise Act.</p>

<p>The team seized Rs 22.44 lakh, a pistol, and four live cartridges. Forty-eight beer bottles, a currency counting machine, plastic money, a casino table, playing cards and three laptops were also confiscated, the officer said.</p>

<p>The casino was being operated from the house for the past few months and was being run by the Manager, Kapil, a resident of Gurgaon Sector-40, the officer said.</p>

<p>Its owner Pramjeet, a resident of Jhajjar, has also been arrested, Kumar said, adding that it is suspected that a gang was involved in organising such events in Delhi and Gurugram.</p>

The Gurugram Police has busted a "casino-cum-bar" illegally running from a house in the posh South City area of Millennium City, an official said. The police said that it had arrested 43 people, including the manager and four women, on charges of gambling in a raid. "The team was deployed near a house and a raid was conducted. Seeing the police party, all the 43 people, including the women, who were playing in the casino-cum-mini bar tried to escape. "They were later caught. The majority of accused were businessmen. They are residents of Delhi and Gurugram," Police PRO Ravinder Kumar told PTI. They have been booked under relevant sections of the Gambling Act, the Arms Act and the Excise Act. The team seized Rs 22.44 lakh, a pistol, and four live cartridges. Forty-eight beer bottles, a currency counting machine, plastic money, a casino table, playing cards and three laptops were also confiscated, the officer said. The casino was being operated from the house for the past few months and was being run by the Manager, Kapil, a resident of Gurgaon Sector-40, the officer said. Its owner Pramjeet, a resident of Jhajjar, has also been arrested, Kumar said, adding that it is suspected that a gang was involved in organising such events in Delhi and Gurugram. <p>A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by three men in a moving car in Gurgaon and thrown out on a road in Delhi in yet another chilling rape incident in Haryana days after the Nirbhaya-like case in Sonipat.</p>

<p>The woman, hailing from Sikkim, was attacked at around 2 am when she was returning from Delhi to her residence in Sector 17 here. As she reached near her house, she was dragged by three men into their Swift car. They then took turns to rape her in the moving vehicle while heading to Najafgarh in the national capital, 20 kms from here, a senior police officer told PTI quoting the victim&#39;s statement.</p>

<p>The woman had gone to visit Connaught Place with her friend on Saturday night. The accused then threw her out in the Najafgarh area and sped away, the officer said.</p>

<p>The woman later approached some passersby and informed the Delhi Police which alerted the Gurugram police.</p>
