I have never given a negative statement against anyone so far in my election campaigning," he said. Gambhir took to Twitter and in a series of tweets slammed Arvind Kejriwal. My Challenge no.2 @ArvindKejriwal @AtishiAAP I declare that if its proven that I did it, I will withdraw my candidature right now. If not, will u quit politics? — Chowkidar Gautam Gambhir (@GautamGambhir) May 9, 2019 × "I feel ashamed to have a CM like Arvind Kejriwal," Gambhir tweeted out. "I abhor your act of outraging a woman’s modesty Arvind Kejriwal and that too your own colleague. And all this for winning elections? Ur filth Mr CM and someone needs ur very own 'jhaadu' to clean ur dirty mind," read his tweet. Gambhir's outburst came shortly after East Delhi AAP candidate Atishi, earlier today, broke down while reading a pamphlet containing "obscene and derogatory remarks against me'' that she claimed has been distributed in the constituency by her BJP rival. The BJP, on its part, charged the AAP with stage managing such incidents. Atishi alleged the pamphlets containing derogatory remarks on her as well as her family were distributed by the BJP at housing complexes. "I had welcomed Gambhir myself when he joined politics but I never imagined that he would stoop to this level in the Lok Sabha polls," Atishi said. "I have only one question for Gautam Gambhir. If he is doing this against one woman, what about the lakhs of women in east Delhi who are worried about their safety," Atishi said.

News brief: Big stories of the day

The biggest challenge for Gambhir, barring his opponents, is one of perception. In a constituency such as East Delhi, which is home to plush gated condominiums and the most-neglected ghettos — where getting even an hour’s piped water supply a day is a luxury — Gambhir’s stardom could be a boon and a bane for the BJP.

'Stick to stuff you know,' Omar Abdullah tells Gautam Gambhir

<p>The former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir hailed Sanju Samson, who struck his second <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl-2019">Indian Premier League</a> ton against Hyderabad on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, for his brilliant innings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though his century went in vain, as Hyderabad chased down a mammoth 199-run target and <a href="https://www.wionews.com/sports/ipl-2019-david-warners-blistering-fifty-helps-hyderabad-beat-rajasthan-by-5-wickets-206607">defeated Rajasthan by five wickets</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Minutes after the match was concluded, Gambhir tweeted, "I normally don't like to talk about individuals in cricket. But seeing his skills I am glad to note that Sanju Samson is currently the best Wicketkeeper batsman in India."</p>

<p>Gambhir also said that Samson should be in India's England bound plane for the upcoming World Cup and he "should be batting number four" in the World Cup.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Samson didn't spare a single Hyderabad's bowler and remained unbeaten on 102 that came off just 55 balls with the help of 10 fours and four sixes. It was Samson's second IPL ton. His first century came in 2017.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 24-year-old Samsom, who hails from Trivandrum, Kerala made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe in 2015.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Gambhir's comments for Samson have upset MS Dhoni's fans as according to the spectators, Dhoni remains the trusted and efficient wicketkeeper for India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is believed that he will keep the stumps in the upcoming cricket World Cup in England and Wales for India. .&nbsp;</p>

The former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir hailed Sanju Samson, who struck his second Indian Premier League ton against Hyderabad on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, for his brilliant innings. Though his century went in vain, as Hyderabad chased down a mammoth 199-run target and defeated Rajasthan by five wickets. Minutes after the match was concluded, Gambhir tweeted, "I normally don't like to talk about individuals in cricket. But seeing his skills I am glad to note that Sanju Samson is currently the best Wicketkeeper batsman in India." Gambhir also said that Samson should be in India's England bound plane for the upcoming World Cup and he "should be batting number four" in the World Cup. Samson didn't spare a single Hyderabad's bowler and remained unbeaten on 102 that came off just 55 balls with the help of 10 fours and four sixes. It was Samson's second IPL ton. His first century came in 2017. The 24-year-old Samsom, who hails from Trivandrum, Kerala made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe in 2015. While Gambhir's comments for Samson have upset MS Dhoni's fans as according to the spectators, Dhoni remains the trusted and efficient wicketkeeper for India. It is believed that he will keep the stumps in the upcoming cricket World Cup in England and Wales for India. . Here are some Twitter reactions: I have a lot of respect for Gautam Gambhir and what he did to give India 2 ICC trophies was phenomenal. <p>Former India pacer Amit Bhandari, who is chairman of the DDCA senior selection committee, was on Monday assaulted by a group of unidentified men, led by a disgruntled Under-23 player, during the Delhi senior team's practice game at the St Stephen's ground.</p>

<p>The senior team is gearing up for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (National Twenty20 tournament), starting February 21.</p>

<p>Anuj Dedha, who was not selected in the state team, attacked Bhandari, who sustained head and ear injuries and was taken to Sant Paramanand Hospital at Civil Lines by his colleague Sukhvinder Singh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The goons along with the player in question fled before the cops could reach the spot but was later arrested.</p>

<p>"At around 1.15 pm today at St Stephen ground where trials were going on, one person Anuj Dedha, who was not selected, came and asked about his rejection and slapped Bhandari. Some 10-15 more boys came and hit him," Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) said.</p>

<p>"Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and the accused and his brother Naresh were arrested," the DCP said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dedha's name featured in the initial 79-member list, released by the DDCA in November for the U-23 trials. As per the probables list accessed by PTI, his date of birth is November 22, 1995.</p>

<p>Delhi &amp; Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rajat Sharma told PTI that guilty will not be spared.</p>

<p>"I have personally spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. The guilty will not go unpunished. We will register an FIR," Sharma said.</p>

<p>Sharma, who went to meet Bhandari at the hospital said, "He is very shaken and it is natural. The doctors have advised that he should be kept under observation for 24 hours as a precautionary measure."</p>

<p>"The goons were pressurising him to select a player, who had failed to get into the U-23 team on merit. Bhandari claimed that the one man also threatened him with a revolver. This is shameful that an honest selector was being prevented from performing his duties. I have been told that one person has been detained for questioning," Sharma, who is also a well-known journalist, informed.</p>

<p>Former India batsman Virender Sehwag demanded strict action.</p>

Former India pacer Amit Bhandari, who is chairman of the DDCA senior selection committee, was on Monday assaulted by a group of unidentified men, led by a disgruntled Under-23 player, during the Delhi senior team's practice game at the St Stephen's ground. The senior team is gearing up for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (National Twenty20 tournament), starting February 21. Anuj Dedha, who was not selected in the state team, attacked Bhandari, who sustained head and ear injuries and was taken to Sant Paramanand Hospital at Civil Lines by his colleague Sukhvinder Singh. The goons along with the player in question fled before the cops could reach the spot but was later arrested. "At around 1.15 pm today at St Stephen ground where trials were going on, one person Anuj Dedha, who was not selected, came and asked about his rejection and slapped Bhandari. Some 10-15 more boys came and hit him," Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) said. "Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and the accused and his brother Naresh were arrested," the DCP said. Dedha's name featured in the initial 79-member list, released by the DDCA in November for the U-23 trials. As per the probables list accessed by PTI, his date of birth is November 22, 1995. Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rajat Sharma told PTI that guilty will not be spared. "I have personally spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. The guilty will not go unpunished. We will register an FIR," Sharma said. Sharma, who went to meet Bhandari at the hospital said, "He is very shaken and it is natural. The doctors have advised that he should be kept under observation for 24 hours as a precautionary measure." "The goons were pressurising him to select a player, who had failed to get into the U-23 team on merit. Bhandari claimed that the one man also threatened him with a revolver. This is shameful that an honest selector was being prevented from performing his duties. I have been told that one person has been detained for questioning," Sharma, who is also a well-known journalist, informed. Former India batsman Virender Sehwag demanded strict action.
