<p>The release of Walt Disney Co's epic action movie 'Mulan'&nbsp;and Universal Pictures' ninth 'Fast and Furious'&nbsp;film were postponed on Thursday as Hollywood scrambled to adjust to the worldwide spread of coronavirus.</p>

<p>But on Thursday, as U.S. authorities urged against large gatherings and took other steps to stop coronavirus spread, Disney said it had decided "out of an abundance of caution" to postpone the debut of 'Mulan'&nbsp;as well as April releases 'The New Mutants'&nbsp;and 'Antlers.'</p>

<p>'Mulan'&nbsp;and 'F9'&nbsp;were expected to rank among the biggest box-office hits in the coming months but were among several disruptions to global entertainment caused by coronavirus.</p>

<p>The virus has closed movie theatres in China, Italy and many other nations, while a ban on travel from Europe to the United States announced by President Donald Trump on Wednesday is seen likely to curtail red carpets and other promotional events for movies and stars.</p>

<p>US&nbsp;movie theatres remained open as of Thursday. But an industry source said operators may close larger theatres in some areas depending on advice from local authorities.</p>

<p>Ohio on Thursday banned crowds of more than 100 people. In California, Governor Gavin Newsom advised against non-essential gatherings of more than 250 through the end of the month.</p>

<p>Movie theatres were exempted, but even if they stay open, their schedules would have to be rearranged.</p>

<p>Also on Thursday, Paramount Pictures, a unit of ViacomCBS Inc, indefinitely delayed the release of thriller 'A Quiet Place Part II,'&nbsp;which was due to start its international rollout on March 18. And it postponed romantic comedy 'The Lovebirds,'&nbsp;originally set for April 3.</p>

<p>"Due to the ever-changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that," the 'Quiet Place'&nbsp;director John Krasinski said in a post on his Instagram account.</p>

<p>Coming back to reprise their roles as Dom and Letty, Vin Diesel and his co-star Michelle Rodriguez feel `blessed beyond words` as they completed the first-day shoot of the next film in the `Fast and Furious` franchise.<br />

Diesel on Monday shared a small clip of him with Rodriguez on Instagram and is heard saying, "Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow, can you believe it, Letty?" "Nine," replies Rodriguez.<br />

Diesel further said, "We just completed our first day. It feels like a miracle. It feels like we`re just so grateful to you universal, to our whole team, crew, incredible cast and most importantly we`re so grateful to you, the world that has adopted the franchise and can you believe it?" Vin Diesel feels 'blessed beyond words' as 'Fast and Furious 9' filming begins

<p>Vin Diesel is back to give you some adrenaline rush in ‘Fast &amp; Furious 9’ teaser that released today.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With some days still left for the trailer to come out as it is scheduled for January 31, Vin Diesel reprises his role as Dominic Toretto. The film also features Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Tyrese Gibson will play Roman Pierce, Ludacris is Tej Parker, Enrique Guzman essays Simon Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel will play Ramsey, Helen Mirren plays Magdalene Shaw and Charlize Theron plays Cipher.</p>

Cohen denied any wrongdoing in a 13-page letter from his attorney Martin Singer to the publication.<br />

<p>In an interview with, Johnson said he wanted to work on the spin-off after he made his debut in the franchise with 2011 action 'Fast Five'.</p>

<p>"We started talking about the potential of a spin-off really after 'Fast Five'. And then when 'Fast 6' came around, that's when we started having real talks about it, but then the challenge was just finding out what the creative could be and how we cracked that," Johnson said.</p>

<p>"I'm really happy that we were not only able to crack the creative and really lean into the relationship and chemistry - the biting chemistry between myself and Jason Statham - but I think that also you find out that it's something the fans have been wanting for some time now," he added.</p>

<p>The 46-year-old star said with the spin-off, his aim is to extend the life of the franchise, which is eagerly followed by millions of fans around the globe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"When you have a franchise that is as successful as the 'Fast and Furious' franchise, the goal, certainly my goal, was always to try and create a scenario where we have as much longevity as we possibly can have.</p>

<p>"And in that spirit, you have to evolve and you have to spin off and you have to create new characters and new stories, especially when you're coming off 'Fast 8', where you have an eight at the end of your title," the actor added.</p>

<p>In the new film, Johnson and Statham are reprising their fan-favorite roles of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vin Diesel posted a video on his Instagram from the set of his ‘Bloodshot’ movie in Africa. He was visited by Cody Walker, brother of Diesel's late co-star Paul Walker in Africa. Diesel then used this reunion to offer an update on the franchise. In the video, Diesel talks about the spin-offs revealing that one could entirely focus on the women of ‘Fast and Furious’.</p>

<p>"My producing partner who started Fast &amp; Furious with me, Neal Moritz, is also my producing partner here and his head is blown. He just can't contain his excitement about what the world will see when they see Bloodshot in 2020," Diesel said in the video. "I have a guest here from the Fast world, someone who surprised. Shout out to universal for wanting my female spin-off concept and my other spin-off concept the two that you guys...we're all good."</p>
