<p>Businessman Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, shared a cryptic post about staying calm after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized his assets worth Rs 970 million in a probe linked to a Bitcoin ponzi scam.</p>

<p>Late last night, Kundra took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of a roaring lion with a text that read, "Learning to stay calm when you feel disrespected is a different type of growth."</p>

<p>The assets seized from Kundra and Shilpa Shetty include a residential flat in Juhu, registered in Shilpa Shetty's name, a residential bungalow in Pune, and equity shares of Kundra.</p>

<p>Both Kundra and Shetty have denied any involvement in the case. Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, stated that no case has been made out against them and they have faith in a fair investigation.</p>

<p>"We shall follow the due process of law and take necessary steps as prescribed under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to protect the liberty and property of my clients. There is no prima facie case made out against my clients Mr Raj Kundra and Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra. I believe when we make our fair representation before the Honourable Enforcement Directorate, even the investigation agencies may grant justice to us. We have faith in a fair investigation. We stand committed to cooperating with the authorities as and when required," said Patil, as per&nbsp;ANI.</p>

<p>A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud where investors are promised huge profits at little or no risk. Instead of investing the money, the conmen try to lure more investors and pay initial investors with funds from the recent ones.</p>

<p>The latest probe alleges that Kundra had received 285 bitcoins from Amit Bhardwaj, the mastermind behind the Ponzi scheme, which he intended to use to establish a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine. However, the deal did not materialise, leaving Kundra with Bitcoins worth over Rs 1.5 billion.</p>

<p>Earlier arrests have been made in connection with the scam, with individuals presently in judicial custody, while the main accused remain absconding. Further investigation is ongoing.</p>

<p>This is not the first time Kundra has faced a police probe. In 2021, he was arrested in a case involving the production and distribution of pornographic films. The Supreme Court later granted him bail.</p>

<p>On the movie front, Rishab is currently working on<em> Kantara: Chapter 1</em>, which is an upcoming Kannada-language period action thriller film set during the reign of Kadambas of Banavasi. The film is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films and serves as a prequel to the 2022 film <em>Kantara</em>.</p>

<p>On the other hand, Mohanlal is currently working with Prithviraj Sukumaran for his directorial, <em>L2: Empuraan</em>, which is the sequel to his 2019 hit film <em>Lucifer</em>. The actor will also be seen playing a cameo role in Vishnu Manchu’s<em> Kannappa</em>.</p>

<p>A movie weapons supervisor is facing up to 18 months in prison for the fatal shooting of a cinematographer by Alec Baldwin on the set of the Western film “Rust,” with her sentencing scheduled for Monday in a New Mexico state court.</p>

<p>Movie armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted in March by a jury on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and has been held for more than a month at a county jail on the outskirts of Santa Fe.</p>

<p>Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer for “Rust,” was pointing a gun at Hutchins when the revolver went off, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.</p>

<p>Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge and says he pulled back the gun’s hammer, but not the trigger before the gun went off. His trial is scheduled for July before the same judge, Mary Marlowe Sommer, who oversaw the trial of Gutierrez-Reed.</p>

<p>Gutierrez-Reed could also receive a $5,000 fine.</p>

<p>Prosecutors blamed Gutierrez-Reed for unwittingly bringing live ammunition onto the set of “Rust” where it was expressly prohibited and for failing to follow basic gun safety protocols. After a two-week trial, the jury deliberated for about three hours to reach its verdict.</p>

<p>“Performers are not expected to render special protection to the audience, nor to safeguard them from the rest of the crowd,” the motion said. “Performing artists, even those who engage in certain promotional activities, have no inherent expertise or specialized knowledge in concert safety measures.”</p>

<p>“Thus, due care also required taking the time to end the show properly, so that the crowd would feel satisfied and leave peacefully,” according to the document.</p>

<p>After an investigation by Houston police, no charges were filed against Scott and a grand jury declined to indict him and five other people on any criminal counts related to the deadly concert.</p>

<p>Those killed, who ranged in age from 9 to 27, died from compression asphyxia, which an expert likened to being crushed by a car.</p>

<p>The first trial of the lawsuits is scheduled for May 6.</p>

<p>Some of the lawsuits filed by the families of the 10 who died and hundreds who were injured have been settled, including those filed by the families of four of the dead.</p>

He performed with Scott at the end of the concert on Nov. 5, 2021, as the crowd surged and attendees were packed so tightly that many could not breathe or move their arms or legs. Authorities and festival organizers were trying to shut down the show.</p>

<p>The families of the 10 people who died during the concert, as well as hundreds who were injured, sued Drake, Scott and Live Nation — the festival’s promoter — as well as dozens of other individuals and entities.</p>

<p>Many of those who were sued, including Drake and Scott, have asked state District Judge Kristen Hawkins to dismiss the lawsuits against them. On Wednesday, Hawkins dismissed Drake from the case in a brief order.</p>

<p>Lawyers for Drake, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, had argued during a court hearing on April 1 in Houston that he was not involved in putting the concert together so was not liable for the deaths and injuries that had occurred.</p>

<p>During a deposition he gave in November in Toronto, the Canadian rapper said in the moments before he took the stage, no one told him that people in the crowd were suffering cardiac arrests or other injuries. He said when he was on stage, the crowd looked like a blur and he couldn’t make out any details.</p>

<p>“Do you see the panic in those people’s eyes?” an attorney asked Drake about the video. “I do, sir,” the rapper responded.</p>

<p>Later, when asked by an attorney for Blount’s family about whether it would be important for him to hear from those who put the concert together about why Blount died, Drake said, “I think I would want answers for what happened, yes.”</p>

<p>On Monday, Hawkins dismissed seven companies and individual people who had been sued. But she denied motions to dismiss that were filed by 10 other companies and individuals, including Apple Inc., which produced a livestream of the concert, and two companies associated with Scott. Hawkins was set to hear other motions to dismiss, including one related to Scott as an individual, on Monday.</p>

<p>Following an investigation by Houston Police, no charges were filed against Scott. A grand jury in June declined to indict him and five other people on any criminal counts related to the deadly concert. Police Chief Troy Finner declined to say what was the overall conclusion of his agency’s investigation.</p>

<p>In July, the police department made public its nearly 1,300-page investigative report in which festival workers highlighted problems and warned of possible deadly consequences.</p>
