<p>China has aired a documentary to mark People's Liberation Army's 96th anniversary showcasing its readiness to fight 'at any second'. This is being seen as a warning to Taiwan, which China considers its own territory. In the documentary, Chinese soldiers have been seen pledging to sacrifice their lives if necessary.</p>

<p>The eight-part documentary is called 'Zhu Meng' or 'chasing dreams'. The first part was aired on Tuesday (August 1) on state broadcaster CCTV.</p>

<p>According to a report by South China Morning Post (SCMP), the documentary also shows pilot of China's most advanced stealth fighter jet vowing to launch suicide attack if necessary.</p>

<p>“My fighter would be my last missile, rushing towards the enemy if in a real battle I had used up all my ammunition,” said Li Peng as quoted by SCMP. Li Peng is reportedly a J-20 pilot from Wang Hai Squadron. It is a unit of PLA's eastern theatre command.</p>

<p>The Eastern Theatre Command is China's primary force against Taiwan.</p>

<p>China considers Taiwan to be it own territory and has not ruled out use of force to retake the self-ruled island nation. Chinese drones and even fighter jets regularly enter the Air Defence Zone (ADZ) of Taiwan.</p>

<p>“If war broke out and the conditions were too difficult to safely remove the naval mines in actual combat, we will use our own bodies to clear a safe pathway for our landing forces,” says Zuo Feng, a frogman of the PLA Navy’s minesweeper unit, in the documentary as quoted by SCMP.</p>

<p>The documentary has reportedly featured personal stories of PLA soldiers across services and locations. It also shows footage of military exercises. It has reportedly been reiterated that “the centennial goal of the PLA must be realised”, an apparent reference to Taiwan.</p>

<p>SCMP said that the documentary series offers 'restricted' view of PLA's operation manoeuvres like gaining air superiority, information technology suppression and sea control before an amphibious attack.</p>

<p>China carried out Joint Sword, an exercise that took place around Taiwan. Parts of the documentary focus on the exercise too. The exercise was carried out in April when Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen visited the US.</p>

<p>In connection to a defamation suit filed by a Justice on Trial, a Gujarat-based NGO, over the BBC documentary on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi High Court on Monday issued a summons to the British broadcaster.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The suit leveled an accusation on the BBC that saying its docu-series “casts a slur” not only on India's repute but also hurts the esteem of Indian judiciary and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reported Live Law.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Enforcement Directorate registers case against BBC</strong></h2>

<p>India's law enforcement agency Enforcement Directorate in April registered a case against BBC's India news broadcaster in connection to the foreign exchange violations allegations. The case was filed under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).&nbsp;</p>

<p>India's Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in a release noted that BBC group entities' income and profits which were disclosed are "not commensurate" with respect to its operations' scale.&nbsp;"The survey operations also revealed that services of seconded employees have been utilised for which reimbursement has been made by the Indian entity to the foreign entity concerned," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Tax raids in Delhi, Mumbai BBC offices</strong></h2>

<p>India's Income Tax Department carried out tax surveys at BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai in the month of February. The IT department had reportedly "gathered several evidence" which suggest that "tax has not been paid on certain remittances" which have not been disclosed as income in India by the foreign entities of the group.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BBC raids came after the UK broadcaster on 17 January released a documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots under the title ‘India: The Modi Question’. The release of the documentary drew sharp reaction from the Indian government who opposed it and ordered curbs on its release on various social media platforms.&nbsp;</p>

“There was a colonel who came out and wanted to show that essentially he was the one that could decide whether or not somebody could get on a plane or not," stated a witness, whose identity was concealed in the documentary.&nbsp;<br />

Meanwhile, MMA fighter turned-solider Tim Kennedy, who was part of the 13-member group tasked with the job of saving as many allies as possible added: "The colonel made the call to ‘put everybody back out'. I don’t care who they are, they get back on those buses and those buses go back into Kabul."<br />

As a last-ditch attempt to save the lives of refugees on the buses, a call was made to North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis. The Republican leader further egged the army generals to intervene. <p>In times when there is no telling talking about which religion would ruffle whose feathers, it's a delight to know that there are still few voices who believe in inclusive nature of our religions. 'Shut up Sona' brings us face-to-face with some such people as&nbsp;Mohapatra visits religious places. Some of the information that's revealed is bound to surprise us and question our conditioning due social forces over the years. Look out for discussion on Meerabai.</p>

UN penalised whistle blowers, must probe sex abuse claims: Shocking revelations in documentary

<p>Have you ever wondered what it feels like when a shark suddenly sneaks up on you and attacks you while you take a swim in the ocean?</p>

<p>A filmmaker who was shooting for a marine documentary had a similar near-death experience. And what’s more, he managed to capture the whole moment on his camera which has since become viral.</p>

<p>While shooting an underwater documentary in the Maldives in April, filmmaker and conservationist Zimy Da Kid managed to capture the exact moment when he encountered a tiger shark.</p>

<p>The shot was taken in the waters of Fuvahmulah, where a large population of tiger sharks are found.</p>

<p>According to the Independent, the filmmaker had noticed that the ocean predator was circling around him. Suddenly, the shark, while approaching him slowly, devoured his 360-degree camera.</p>

<p>Though the equipment survived after the shark released the camera from its jaw, the footage managed to show the shark’s mouth and throat, providing a fascinating glimpse.</p>
