As battle lines are drawn ahead of Donald Trump's bid for re-election, a new documentary based on the testimony of mental health professionals has labeled the US president a "malignant narcissist."

"Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump" —&nbsp; released on streaming platforms Tuesday —&nbsp;claims not to be politically motivated.

The film interviews several psychologists who argue they have a medical duty to warn the US public about Trump's alleged mental state.

According to psychologist John Gartner, Trump clearly exhibits four key symptoms of malignant narcissism — the "most destructive" personality type — including paranoia, narcissism, antisocial personality disorder and sadism.

But the film's central premise of professionally diagnosing a public figure from afar is contentious.

Republican candidate Barry Goldwater successfully sued a magazine after it published a damning survey of psychiatrists speculating about his mental health during his failed 1964 run.

And the film highlights another rule that compels mental health professionals to speak out when a patient's disorder imperils others -- in this case, the US public.

"It's not that he's as bad as Hitler, or that he's the equivalent of Hitler," Gartner says. "But he has the same diagnosis as Hitler."

Diagnosing Trump has long been a popular tactic for his opponents.

Trump's psychologist niece Mary Trump recently published an unflattering tome on her uncle, while the president's own "Art of the Deal" co-author has said their book should be re-titled "The Sociopath."

The ongoing federal investigation in sexual assault cases filed against Weinstein will look more deeply into the manner in which the producer went about in the movie business.

A total of 112 films will be showcased in the upcoming edition. It includes movies like 'Untouchable' and director Chiwetel Ejiofor`s debut 'The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind'.

One of the highlights will be director Ryan White`s 'Ask Dr. Ruth', which will aim to focus on a new angle from the life of the famed sex therapist.

Fresh claims of spot-fixing hit international cricket in a documentary released Sunday but the ICC refuted the "assertion" that it does not take corruption in the sport seriously and once again questioned the broadcaster's refusal to share the raw footage.&nbsp;

A report on Al Jazeera channel's website stated that "the evidence, from 2011 and 2012, points to a small group of England players allegedly carrying out spot-fixes in seven matches; Australia players in five matches; Pakistan players in three, with players from other teams carrying out spot-fixes in one match.&nbsp;

"As with the first programme we have and will continue to ask for the cooperation of the broadcaster. We have made repeated efforts to engage with the broadcaster as it can play such a crucial part in the full and thorough investigation it has called for," ICC Anti-Corruption GM Alex Marshall said in a statement.&nbsp;

The ICC has been seeking footage of the sting carried out by the channel since it was first aired earlier this year. However, it claims to have got no cooperation from the channel.&nbsp;

"We do welcome the commitment from the broadcaster to share the files with Interpol and, I hope, other law enforcement agencies who can act upon the information and support us in ridding the sport of these criminals," he added.&nbsp;

The channel's report further claimed that the matches in which fixes were allegedly carried out included an England-India encounter at Lord's Cricket Ground, a South Africa-Australia match in Cape Town and several games during England's series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).&nbsp;

"The files suggest that the suspected fixes were usually carried out by batsmen who agreed to underperform. Some of the world's most famous players were batting when the fixes allegedly occurred. Many of the matches appear to include multiple fixes, making a total of 26 fixes in the 15 matches," said the report.&nbsp;

The channel claimed that its dossier includes photographs of Mumbai-born Dubai based alleged match-fixer Aneel Munawar and his associates hovering near, and purportedly talking to, international cricket players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Umar Akmal during the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2012.&nbsp;

But the channel made it clear that there is no suggestion that these players were involved in any wrongdoing.&nbsp;

"As you would expect we will again take the contents of the programme and any allegations it may make seriously and will investigate fully.&nbsp;

However, I must refute the assertion that cricket does not take the issue of corruption seriously, we have more resources than ever before working to rid our sport of corruption," Marshall said.&nbsp;

"The investigation into these allegations has already commenced and will run alongside a number of other live unrelated investigations.&nbsp;

After their rowing boat is flipped over by giant waves, the men are left with nothing but a malfunctioning inflatable lifeboat and no way of knowing that their location device had failed, making it unlikely they would be found in the middle of the ocean.

The film uses footage filmed by the two men and by their eventual rescuers - the crew of a passing cargo ship. Produced in association with the U.N. High Commission for Refugees, it compares the pair`s adventure with the risks taken by hundreds of thousands of migrants every year.

"For 13 hours we were in their shoes," Samra told Reuters in an interview.&nbsp;"We only experienced a fraction of what refugees go through and these things happen on a weekly basis."

Director Marco Orsini hopes the film will bring public attention back to the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean, by getting the audience to root for the two Omars` survival and then showing news footage of migrant rescues.

"After time, after so much footage of dead bodies washing up on the shores ... you just become desensitized to the whole issue," he said.

"I realise that this film can have an impact on people, on how they view the plight of refugees, and that’s what it’s all about.”

The Cannes Film Festival runs to May 19.

The scene, filmed last summer for a documentary due to be broadcast in Britain next week, offers an unusually informal glimpse of the 91-year-old monarch, who has given very little away of her inner self during her 66-year reign.

She is seen walking and chatting with David Attenborough, also 91, a much-loved naturalist and broadcaster known for lavish series like "Planet Earth" and "Blue Planet".

The pair discuss a conservation project to create a network of native forests across all 53 Commonwealth countries -- the subject of the new documentary -- and muse about how there might be many new trees in Buckingham Palace garden in 50 years.

"Might easily be, yes," the queen says. Then, after a pause, she adds with a smile: "I won't be here though".

Attenborough chuckles but does not dwell on the remark, instead commenting on a nearby sundial positioned in the shade of a tree, rendering it useless.

"Isn't it good, yes," the queen says, before flashing a wide grin at a person standing off camera. "Had we thought of that, that it was planted in the shade?" she asks with a chuckle, adding: "It wasn't in the shade originally, I'm sure."

The queen then suggests the sundial could be moved, to which Attenborough responds that it depends whether she wishes to know the time or not.

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has agreed to release the impending documentary on Nobel laureate Amartya Sen&nbsp;titled &quot;The Argumentative Indian&quot;.&nbsp;

The documentary was in the middle of a controversy last year in July when Suman Ghosh, National Award-winning director refused to abide by CBFC Kolkata diktat of beeping four words in the film -- cow, Gujarat, Hindutva and Hindu.&nbsp;

Ghosh announced&nbsp;Friday that the CBFC agreed&nbsp;to the release of his documentary in its entirety, including&nbsp;the four words that the&nbsp;board&#39;s regional office had objected to earlier.&nbsp;

Ghosh told PTI in Kolkata:&nbsp;&quot;CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi watched &#39;The Argumentative Indian&#39; in Mumbai yesterday along with other board members and gave his consent to the words. After seeing the film yesterday, Joshi held a discussion with me and said &#39;the film can be released without any cuts.&quot;

The documentary is essentially an hour long and is shot in two parts in 2002 and 2017 -- has Sen talking about the social choice theory, development economics, philosophy and the rise of right-wing nationalism across the world, including India.

Ghosh added in his statement, &quot;I am happy that the CBFC respects the freedom of expression in arts. Joshi told me he got to learn a lot about the Nobel laureate through my documentary.&quot;

He is now hoping to get a written communication on the matter from the board.&nbsp;

Sources in CBFC Kolkata, however, spoke on the issue and said that the matter is currently being handled by the chairman and that the regional office had no say in the matter now.

Ghosh told PTI in Kolkata: "CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi watched 'The Argumentative Indian' in Mumbai yesterday along with other board members and gave his consent to the words. After seeing the film yesterday, Joshi held a discussion with me and said 'the film can be released without any cuts." The documentary is essentially an hour long and is shot in two parts in 2002 and 2017 -- has Sen talking about the social choice theory, development economics, philosophy and the rise of right-wing nationalism across the world, including India. Ghosh added in his statement, "I am happy that the CBFC respects the freedom of expression in arts. Joshi told me he got to learn a lot about the Nobel laureate through my documentary." He is now hoping to get a written communication on the matter from the board. Sources in CBFC Kolkata, however, spoke on the issue and said that the matter is currently being handled by the chairman and that the regional office had no say in the matter now. Carbon: India's first Hindi sci-fi short film

To many of his patients he was the saviour who rescued them from the misery of unbearable pain, but to others he was an amoral drug dealer who played fast and loose with people&#39;s lives.

The story of William Hurwitz&#39;s imprisonment for excessively prescribing painkillers is indicative of America&#39;s burgeoning opioid crisis, and the dilemma it presents doctors seeking to manage pain responsibly.

&quot;Dr&nbsp;Feelgood,&quot; which premiered last week at the Los Angeles Film Festival, examines what has been described as the worst drug crisis in US history through the lens of Hurwitz&#39;s trial in 2004 for trafficking.

&quot;He&#39;s a&nbsp;demon&nbsp;-- what he&#39;s done to my family and the other families,&quot; said&nbsp;Paul Nye, whose wife overdosed on the potent opioid OxyContin and died.

&quot;He gave her 200 OxyContin pills the first time she saw him. Two weeks later he doubled that, two weeks later something like four times that,&quot; adds Nye, whose his wife had been suffering from back pain.

The documentary follows the physician&#39;s run-ins with the authorities, his conviction in 2004, his appeal and the retrial which saw his 25-year prison sentence reduced to four.

It also lays bare the quandary for doctors duty-bound to relieve pain and yet required by law to take into account the possible ill effects of over-prescribing or supplying drugs to the wrong people.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opioids -- including prescription pain relievers and heroin -- killed more than 28,000 people in the US in 2014, more than in any other year on record.

Death rates are higher than those from road accidents or AIDS at its peak, and the crisis has prompted urgent calls for action.

 
Personal responsibility

The epidemic has been growing gradually since the 1990s but really took a firm foothold in the public consciousness in April when the rock musician Prince died of an overdose.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Hurwitz was one of America&#39;s pre-eminent specialists in pain and its treatment with pharmaceuticals.

He came to the notice of the Virginia Board of Medicine, who suspended his license on several occasions, and eventually the police, when two patients died and it became clear his pills were reaching the black market.

Yet Hurwitz was a polarizing figure who was as much lauded as condemned.

&quot;I was bedridden -- I was wearing diapers,&quot; says Molly Shaw, one of the physician&#39;s patients who was suffering chronic pain due to a condition of the nervous system.

Tears streaming down her cheeks, Shaw described her pain as worse than childbirth, but says Hurwitz &quot;really gave me my life back&quot;.

&quot;The thrust of the film is to say it&#39;s not as simple as &#39;pharmaceutical companies and doctors created a nation of addicts&#39;,&quot; first-time director Eve Marson told AFP.

The 34-year-old says she was made aware of America&#39;s opioid problem by friends who were medics and every day saw people addicted to pills.

&quot;If you&#39;re a doctor, here are these pills that are incredibly effective at treating pain and people come to you,&quot; Marson says.

 
Suicides

&quot;One American in three suffers from chronic pain and you want to help them relieve this pain -- that&#39;s why you became a doctor.

&quot;And at the same time, how can you do this while being sensitive to not creating addiction?&quot;

Hurwitz has always maintained he acted in good faith, saying it was not his job to check up on who was using their medication responsibly and who was dealing.

He admits to having possibly solved this dilemma &quot;too easily, choosing to trust the patients&quot; who sometimes abused the medication or sold their pills on the black market.

The doctor told AFP the crusade against him and other doctors had done nothing to stem the surge of opioid overdoses, or the growth of the black market.

Hurwitz believes that while overdoses are given many column inches, suicides linked to untreated chronic severe pain are largely ignored.

Other patients are refused painkillers, he says, and turn to the black market for drugs sometimes cut with substances like fentanyl, which is up to 50 times more potent than heroin.

In an attempt to curb the epidemic, health authorities have issued guidelines to reduce the duration of prescriptions and try to reduce the number of pills in circulation.

Marson believes better sharing of patient information is also key, as it would stop some addicts and dealers going &quot;shopping from one doctor to the other&quot; to amass stockpiles of pills.
