"The move is set to transform the industrial landscape of the country, creating a robust network of industrial nodes and cities that will significantly boost economic growth and global competitiveness," the Union minister said while briefing the media about the decisions taken at the&nbsp;Union cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The smart city project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), would provide employment opportunities to nearly 10 lakh people, creating a huge scope for boosting employment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"These projects aim to create robust and sustainable infrastructure, fostering investments and promoting balanced regional development," a press release by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) stated.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Location&nbsp;of industrial smart cities </strong></h2>

<p>The industrial areas will be located in Khurpia,&nbsp;Uttrakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in UP, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthy in Andhra Pradesh and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.</p>

<p>These industrial smart cities will be aligned with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat', and built on PM Modi's Gati Shakti plan.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Investment potential in smart cities project</strong></h2>

<p>The investment potential of the project, which will be around Rs 1.52 lakh crore, is prepared to foster a vibrant industrial ecosystem by facilitating investments from large anchor industries and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Additionally, these industrial nodes will act as catalysts for exports worth USD 2 trillion by 2030.</p>

<p>A Class 9 student in Delhi's Najafgarh area was detained after allegedly stealing his mother's gold ornaments to purchase an iPhone for his purported girlfriend on her birthday, according to a report by the Times of India.</p>

<p>The teenager had initially asked his mother for money to buy the expensive gift. The mother refused due to financial constraints. It was then that he resorted to theft. The boy’s father had passed away due to illness, and according to the report, he had been showing little interest in academics and was scoring average marks.</p>

<p>The incident took place earlier this week, and the boy was detained by the police on Wednesday (August 7). The case came to light when the boy's mother noticed her gold jewellery was missing and subsequently filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the investigation, authorities ruled out external involvement after reviewing CCTV footage from the area and speaking with neighbours.</p>

<p>Suspicion quickly fell on the boy, especially after he went missing following the reported theft. Police questioned his friends and discovered that he had recently purchased an iPhone worth ₹50,000 ($595) and was in a relationship with a classmate.</p>

<p>The boy was eventually caught when he attempted to return home on Wednesday (August 7) evening, and the police seized the stolen iPhone from him. It remains unclear if he actually gifted the iPhone to his purported girlfriend.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"On August 3, an incident of house theft was reported by a woman, in which she claimed that two gold chains, one pair of gold earrings, and one gold ring had been stolen from her house on August 2, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.," said Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), in a statement.</p>

<p>The DCP added that the boy was upset after his mother refused to give him the money and instead urged him to focus on his studies. "Angered over the denial, he decided to steal the gold from his home," Singh said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.</p>

A Class 9 student in Delhi's Najafgarh area was detained after allegedly stealing his mother's gold ornaments to purchase an iPhone for his purported girlfriend on her birthday, according to a report by the Times of India. The teenager had initially asked his mother for money to buy the expensive gift. The mother refused due to financial constraints. It was then that he resorted to theft. The boy’s father had passed away due to illness, and according to the report, he had been showing little interest in academics and was scoring average marks. The incident took place earlier this week, and the boy was detained by the police on Wednesday (August 7). The case came to light when the boy's mother noticed her gold jewellery was missing and subsequently filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the police. During the investigation, authorities ruled out external involvement after reviewing CCTV footage from the area and speaking with neighbours. Suspicion quickly fell on the boy, especially after he went missing following the reported theft. Police questioned his friends and discovered that he had recently purchased an iPhone worth ₹50,000 ($595) and was in a relationship with a classmate. The boy was eventually caught when he attempted to return home on Wednesday (August 7) evening, and the police seized the stolen iPhone from him. It remains unclear if he actually gifted the iPhone to his purported girlfriend. The DCP added that the boy was upset after his mother refused to give him the money and instead urged him to focus on his studies. The UPSC aspirants were killed on Saturday (Jul&nbsp;28) after heavy rains flooded their institute, Rau's IAS Study Circle's basement.</p>

<p>As per reports, the aspirants have gathered outside Rau's IAS Study Circle demanding justice for the students killed because of the institute's negligence of safety codes.</p>

<p>A residential colony on the outskirts of New&nbsp;Delhi has been flooded after the walls of a canal broke. The visuals show waist-depth water entering the homes of the people living in the area and causing&nbsp;inconvenience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The JJ colony in Bawana, located in the Northern region of New Delhi, was flooded last night around 11:00 pm (local time) after the walls of the sub-branch of the Munak canal broke. The canal starts in the Yamuna River in Haryana and runs into New Delhi, bringing drinking water to the Indian&nbsp;capital city.</p>

<p>According to a report by Times Now, a resident said that the authorities are providing food and shelter to those affected. As most of the houses in the area are low, the residents expressed worry about their houses getting destroyed by the canal water.</p>

<p>Another resident blamed&nbsp;people who are illegally stealing water from the dam for farming activities which has resulted in the weakening of the walls, causing them to break. The resident reportedly said&nbsp;no one came to address the issue at night as the&nbsp;authorities did not arrive at the site till&nbsp;morning.</p>

<p>"Water has been diverted to the other sub-branch of the canal. Repair work has already started and will be completed by today afternoon. The breached sub-branch of the canal will be functional from tomorrow," Atishi said in a&nbsp;post on X.&nbsp;</p>

The resident reportedly said no one came to address the issue at night as the authorities did not arrive at the site till morning. <p>On Friday (June 28), Delhi received its highest-ever rainfall in the last 88 years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian Meteorological Department said that from 8:30 am on Thursday (June 27) to 8:30 am on Friday (June 28) Delhi received 228 mm of rainfall, which marked the highest 24-hour rainfall in June in the national capital since 1936 when 235.5 mm of rainfall was recorded.</p>

<p>The MET department said that IMD's Safdarjung airport observatory recorded 234.5mm of rainfall between June 1 to June 28, which is the third highest in the last 124 years.</p>

<p>The Delhi International Airport management on Friday (June 28) said that it set up a Technical Committee to probe the cause of the roof collapse at Terminal 1 of the airport that killed one person and injured several others.</p>

<p>“Due to heavy rains and winds through the night in Delhi, a Canopy at the old departure forecourt of Terminal 1 (T1) partially collapsed around 5 am this morning. While the cause for the collapse is being assessed, the primary cause seems to be the continued heavy rainfall over the past few hours,” a DIAL spokesperson released a statement saying.</p>

<p>“As per the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi Safdarjung recorded massive 228.1mm of rains in the last 24 hours (mainly in the early morning hours of today). This is the highest 24-hour rain in Delhi in June after 1936, the average rainfall in the area in last 30 years is 75.2 mm,” the statement added.</p>

<p>The Delhi airport spokesperson said that in the incident four vehicles were damaged and eight people received minor injuries and were immediately provided medical assistance.</p>

<p>He said that the Delhi airport announced a compensation of Rs 20 Lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 3 Lakh to the ones who were injured in the roof collapse.</p>

<p>"As a precautionary measure, all flight operations from Terminal 1 have been suspended till further notice and rescheduled by the respective Airlines to operate from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, till the impacted areas are restored for operations," the DIAL spokesperson said.</p>

<p>"A Technical Committee has been formed by DIAL to investigate the cause of the incident and will give the report as soon as possible. In addition, DIAL is working with all relevant agencies to assess the situation and restore operations," he further added.</p>

<h2><strong>Union Civil Aviation Ministry establishes 24*7 War Room&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Union Civil Aviation Ministry said that a 24*7 War Room will be established which will ensure a full refund of cancelled flights that will be processed within 7 days.</p>

<p>As per the Civil Aviation Ministry, the Airports Authority of India has been directed to issue a circular to all minor and major airports to conduct a thorough inspection of structural strength.</p>

<p>The ministry also released an advisory to all airlines to ensure that the ongoing situation does not lead to a steep increase in airfare and to maintain fare stability</p>

<p>Authorities in the national capital have identified 100 hotspots all over the city that are prone to waterlogging, but this planning happens too late, often after the first rains wreak havoc on Delhi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2011, the Delhi government tasked IIT Delhi with coming up with a new drainage plan for the city’s watershed. The institution submitted a plan in 2018, but it was shelved by the government in 2021 for ‘being too theoretical.’ While theory may be too difficult to comprehend, what is not is the apathy citizens have to face year after year.&nbsp;</p>

<p><b>Parking Troubles</b></p>

<p>Vehicle parking is another key issue plaguing the city. With the number of two-wheelers and four-wheelers expected to rise significantly in the coming years, the problem of waterlogging will also increase. People often encroach upon the land in front of their houses and convert it into parking spaces, leading to land that usually soaks rainwater to be covered by impenetrable concrete. Ironically, the same concrete that absorbs heat in the summer also makes sure that rainwater causes flooding in the monsoon season.&nbsp;</p>

<p><b>West to East Drains for East to West Terrain?&nbsp;</b></p>

<p>Any terrain has a natural slope, as no area is perfectly flat. Delhi’s terrain is sloped from the east to the west. However, according to reports, most of the existing drains in the capital flow from the west to the east of the city, causing massive waterlogging each year.&nbsp;</p>

<p><b>What is the solution?&nbsp;</b></p>

<p>The solution to this problem is multi-faceted, but efforts must be made to create more drains in the city that are adherent to the natural slope of the land, thus easing water flow. Strict restrictions on illegal encroachments and parking will also help bring down the debilitating effect of the rain on Delhi. Reducing plastic pollution and illegal disposal of trash is second only to the most important solution of all: pre-planning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Preparations for heavy rains must be made well in advance, and a year-long approach must be taken to make sure adequate infrastructure is in place. All of these combined can help pull Delhi out of the deep water it finds itself in every year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's our culture to provide water to the thirsty. Delhi gets water from neighbouring states. We hoped for the support of neighbouring states in such intense heat. But, Haryana reduced Delhi's water share," she said.</p>

Delhi water crisis: AAP leader Atishi sits on indefinite hunger strike

<p>As several parts of north India continue to be in the grip of a severe heatwave, the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday (June 19) issued an advisory to central government-run hospitals urging them to provide immediate treatment to heatstroke patients.</p>

<p>With the maximum temperatures touching approximately 51 degrees Celsius, Delhi's state-run Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital reported five deaths due to suspected heatstroke while at least 12 are on ventilator support in critical condition, battling for their lives.</p>

<p>Dr Ajay Shukla, Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital said that on Tuesday, 11 people were admitted to the hospital with heat stroke, which is so far the highest ever number reported in a single day this season.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shukla said that since the beginning of the heatwave, at least 45 people have been admitted to the hospital with heat-related ailments.</p>

<p>"A total of 22 patients have been admitted to the hospital and five have lost their lives due to suspected heatstroke. 12 patients are on ventilators and in critical situation. The majority of patients are labourers who work in extreme conditions," the hospital official said.</p>

<p>He said that the major reason for the deaths was a reported delay in reaching the hospital.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So far we have received a total of 45-50 patients and around 7 people have died since the beginning of the heatwave situation," he said.</p>

<p>"Most of the patients are poor migrant labourers. They do a lot of physical work so they are very prone to heatstroke. Most of the patients die because they are late in reaching the hospital. The mortality rate in this is 60-70 per cent. If treatment is delayed, the number of deaths can be quite high," he added.</p>

<p>He said that the patients with heatstroke ended up in intensive care units as their treatment was delayed.</p>

<p>"Most of these patients in the last week reported very late, so their prognosis is getting worse because of late reporting. I just request people to get awareness about heatstroke and report it early so that the prognosis and outcome get better. We should create awareness about the protection from heatstroke and keeping adequate hydration for such patients," the doctor added.</p>

<p>Earlier, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that at least 56 people had lost their lives due to heatstroke in multiple states.</p>

<h2><strong>Delhi's peak power demand reaches record high&nbsp;</strong>amid&nbsp;soaring heat</h2>

<p>Delhi's peak power demand reached an all-time high of 8,656 MW on Wednesday (June 19) at 3:06 pm, the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) data stated.</p>

<p>"Today is the 31st day in a row Delhi's peak power demand has crossed the 7000 MW. Delhi's peak power demand never crossed 7000 MW during the month of May 2023 and crossed the 7000 MW in May only once in 2022," it stated.</p>

<p>The national capital's previous high of 7695 MW was recorded on June 29, 2022. In 2023, the peak power demand was at 7438 MW.</p>

<h2><strong>Delhi to receive rainfall within 48 hours</strong></h2>

<p>Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has assured the situation will start easing starting Thursday (Jun 20).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The IMD said Delhi and the adjoining areas may get temporary relief within the next 48 hours, thanks to the ongoing western disturbance in northwest India. North India may witness a change in the wind pattern, paving the way for pre-monsoon activities in the region.</p>

Dr Ajay Shukla, Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital said that on Tuesday, 11 people were admitted to the hospital with heat stroke, which is so far the highest ever number reported in a single day this season. Shukla said that since the beginning of the heatwave, at least 45 people have been admitted to the hospital with heat-related ailments. "A total of 22 patients have been admitted to the hospital and five have lost their lives due to suspected heatstroke. 12 patients are on ventilators and in critical situation. The majority of patients are labourers who work in extreme conditions," the hospital official said. He said that the major reason for the deaths was a reported delay in reaching the hospital. "So far we have received a total of 45-50 patients and around 7 people have died since the beginning of the heatwave situation," he said. "Most of the patients are poor migrant labourers. They do a lot of physical work so they are very prone to heatstroke. Most of the patients die because they are late in reaching the hospital. The mortality rate in this is 60-70 per cent. If treatment is delayed, the number of deaths can be quite high," he added. He said that the patients with heatstroke ended up in intensive care units as their treatment was delayed. I just request people to get awareness about heatstroke and report it early so that the prognosis and outcome get better. We should create awareness about the protection from heatstroke and keeping adequate hydration for such patients," the doctor added. Earlier, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that at least 56 people had lost their lives due to heatstroke in multiple states. Delhi's peak power demand never crossed 7000 MW during the month of May 2023 and crossed the 7000 MW in May only once in 2022," it stated. The national capital's previous high of 7695 MW was recorded on June 29, 2022. In 2023, the peak power demand was at 7438 MW. Delhi to receive rainfall within 48 hours Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has assured the situation will start easing starting Thursday (Jun 20). The IMD said Delhi and the adjoining areas may get temporary relief within the next 48 hours, thanks to the ongoing western disturbance in northwest India. <p>One of the passengers, Rohan Kumar said that the air-conditioner was switched on after the flight took off.</p>

<p>"I was travelling from Delhi to Darbhanga (SG 476) from SpiceJet. At the Delhi airport after check-in, they did not switch on the air-conditioning (AC) for an hour. The temperature inside (flight) was 40 degrees. The passengers were suffering. The air-conditioner (AC) was switched on when the flight took off."</p>

<p>Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday (June 19) hit out at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for "stealing and looting people," alleging that the government's free water scheme had proved to be a "sham".</p>

<p>He then said that at the time the party got the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), it was in profit of Rs 600 crores but now it is in loss of Rs 73,000 crore.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Ministers, MLAs, DJB are all under the AAP-led government. They have been stealing and looting the people of Delhi for the last 10 years. When they got DJB, it was a profit of Rs 600 crore and now it is in a loss of Rs 73,000 crore. Atishi must answer this," Sachdeva told news agency PTI.</p>

<p>“People are craving for every drop of water. Women spent nights waiting for water tankers while children in many areas are not able to take a bath for days due to scarcity,” he added.</p>

I have requested that he should help provide water as soon as possible...If the people of Delhi do not get their rightful share of water by the 21st, then I will be forced to do a Satyagraha," Atishi said in a press conference.</p>

<p>"Due to the scorching heat, the water problem in Delhi has also increased. Today, Delhiites need more water. The total supply of water in Delhi is 1050 MGD, out of which 613 MGD water comes from Haryana but Haryana is not giving the full share of water to Delhi," she alleged further.</p>

<p>The AAP leader further alleged that because Haryana gave only 513 MGD of water to Delhi on Tuesday (June 18), nearly 2.8 million people were getting less water in the national capital.</p>

Delhi water crisis: BJP leaders stage protest, accuse AAP govt of 'stealing and looting people'

<p>Adding to the series of hoax call incidents hitting the national capital, a Dubai-bound plane that was scheduled to take off from Delhi received a bomb threat via email, police said on Tuesday.</p>

<p>According to the Delhi Police, the bomb threat was received on Monday at 9:35 am.</p>

<p>"On June 17 at 9:35 am, an email was received in the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office, IGI Airport with the threat of a bomb inside a Delhi to Dubai flight," the police said.</p>

<p>They further informed that, after receiving the threat, necessary legal action was taken and nothing suspicious was found.</p>

<p>Last week, several museums in Delhi received bomb threats, which later turned out to be bogus, the police said.</p>

<p>AAP leaders said that the party played a major role in reducing BJP's seats in the lower house, even though it won fewer seats than expected in the Lok Sabha elections. The remarks came following a meeting held in Delhi to discuss the party's future strategies.</p>

<p>AAP National General Secretary (Organisation) and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak in the meeting held on Thursday (June 13) said that the party fought the elections in tough circumstances.</p>

<p>"Now is the most difficult time for the party. Today, our party chief, Arvind Kejriwal, former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, and former Health Minister Satyender Jain are in jail. I was also kept in jail for six months. Here, even people with one MP have become ministers. We have 13 MPs. If we wanted to deal, we would have done it," Singh said.</p>

<p>"But the AAP has emerged from the womb of a movement. We have come to politics to become leaders, not dealers. We have come to work for the people. We will fight them until we defeat them. The Prime Minister gave the slogan of crossing 400 in arrogance, but only 240 seats came. The flight was reportedly carrying 186 passengers, including an infant, and six crew members.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Akasa Air flight QP 1719 landed safely at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at 10:13 am (local time) after it received a “security alert",&nbsp;said a spokesperson for the airline, as quoted by ANI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The government of Delhi reached out to the Central government and moved the Supreme Court appealing for additional water supply from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh for a month amid a severe shortage in the national capital.</p>

<p>In its petition submitted to the Supreme Court, the Delhi government said that there has been an increase in the demand for water in the national capital amid sweltering heat.</p>

<p>"Delhi's need for water has increased in the scorching heat. It is everyone's responsibility to fulfil the needs of the country's capital," stated the petition.</p>

However, since the last few days, there has been a drastic dip in the water levels at the Wazirabad Barrage as Haryana is not releasing the required amount of water in the Yamuna river," said Atishi, in a letter to Union Water Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.</p>

<p>"Moreover, the temperature in Delhi has touched almost 50 degrees. This has further intensified the demand for water," she said.</p>

<p>However,&nbsp;late Wednesday, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took to X and said that the reading is "not official yet," adding that the record-breaking temperature in Delhi is "very unlikely."</p>

<p>"Our senior officials in IMD have been asked to verify the news report. The official position will be stated soon," said the Union Minister.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The maximum temperature over Delhi NCR varied from 45.2° to 49.1°C in different parts of city, Mungeshpur reported 52.9°C as an outlier compared to other stations," said the IMD in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It added, "It could be due to error in the sensor or the local factor. IMD is examining the data and sensors."</p>

<p>The IMD has issued a red alert health notice for the city, with an estimated population of around 35 million people, warning of a “very high likelihood of developing heat illness and heat stroke in all ages,” with “extreme care needed for vulnerable people”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jaipur International Airport witnessed chaos after it received the email prompting&nbsp;security personnel, police, and bomb disposal squad to search the airport, however, nothing was found, reported IANS.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to reports, at least 12 airports including&nbsp;Raja Bhoj Airport (Bhopal), and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad) received bomb threats on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A bomb threat email was sent to 12 airports across the country including Jaipur International Airport, said an IANS report.</p>

<p>“Explosive devices have been installed in the buildings of Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jammu, Lucknow, Patna, Agartala, Aurangabad, Bagdhugra, Bhopal and Calicut airports. There will be a blast in a few hours. Do not consider this mail as a threat. Defuse the bomb, otherwise many innocent people will die,” read the email.</p>

<p>Earlier this month, over 100 schools in the Indian national capital, a few in the adjoining region of Gautam Buddha Nagar also known as Noida, and one in Lucknow received bomb threats via email.</p>

<p>At the time, a thorough search and investigation of the institutions by police officers, bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and officials of the Delhi Fire Service revealed nothing. Because of this, the threats were concluded to be hoaxes.</p>

<p>The police tried to trace the origin of the hoax bomb emails and said that they are believed to have been sent from Russia and were aimed at creating panic.</p>

<p>Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a media briefing on Saturday (May 11)&nbsp;urged the citizens of India to battle the Modi-led government's "dictatorship".</p>

<p>The AAP leader also claimed that no other party in the country was allegedly "harassed to this extent in the 75 years" the way his party was.</p>

<p>He then took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that all the "thieves" were present in his party and aimed to fight corruption.</p>

<p>The Delhi CM&nbsp;also cautioned that if the BJP-led NDA comes to power after the general elections, other opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee, and MK Stalin would also be sent to jail.</p>

<p>Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail on Friday (May 10) after the Indian Supreme Court granted him interim bail till June 1.</p>

<p>A day after over 100 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats which turned out to be hoaxes, a barrage of messages claiming suspicious objects were recovered from some educational institutions are making the rounds on WhatsApp. Amid this, on Thursday (May 2), Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Nalwa cautioned the public to verify the source of such messages before believing or forwarding them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This comes as&nbsp;the Delhi Police's anti-terror unit, which was probing the bomb threats on Wednesday (May 1), revealed that the investigation will focus on an organisation rather than an individual.</p>

<p>As per an ANI report citing sources within the Delhi police, "The timing of the threat given the elections, mass collection of data from schools, use of Russian IP addresses — all these point towards a conspiracy."</p>

<p>The probe will also explore the probability of ISI or Chinese involvement.&nbsp;"The use of a strong server has raised suspicions regarding China. But, the investigation is still at a very early stage."</p>

<p>A thorough search and investigation of the institutions by police officers,&nbsp;bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and officials of the Delhi Fire Service revealed nothing. Because of this, the threats were concluded to be hoaxes.</p>

<p>The police tried to trace the origin of the hoax bomb emails and found that they were sent using a virtual private network (VPN) that routed and rerouted data via foreign servers. The police managed to narrow down the internet protocol (IP) address after retracing the VPN traffic and, as per reports; the emails are&nbsp;believed to have been&nbsp;sent from Russia and were aimed at creating panic.</p>

<p>As per an ANI report citing the Noida-based Delhi Public School's principal's office, students were sent back home immediately as a precautionary measure.</p>

<p>Delhi-NCR DCP South West Rohit Meena has revealed that the same bomb threat email was sent to several schools around 4:15 am (IST).</p>

<p>"Checking is underway at all the schools and our technical wing is investigating the email. Through the initial investigation, it seems that this is a mass email...I want to request the students and parents to remain calm and not to panic. <p>In a statement to news agency ANI, Delhi Police said "Bomb threat at several schools in Delhi | During the initial investigation, it seems that since yesterday till now the mail has been sent to many places and it seems to be on the same pattern. Date line is not mentioned and BCC is mentioned in the mail, which means one mail has been sent to many places. At present, an investigation is being done."</p>

<p>As per reports, a&nbsp;similar threat was sent to Amity School in Lucknow in the Vrindavan area. The campus was searched, and the children were evacuated, however, nothing was found.</p>

However, keeping in mind the safety and security of every one, we are arranging to send the students back home at the earliest. Bus users will soon be intimated. Parents who are interested to personally come and pick their ward&nbsp;may&nbsp;also&nbsp;do&nbsp;so," reads the message.</p>

<p><em><strong>10:32&nbsp;am:&nbsp;</strong></em>Summer Fields School in Greater Kailash asks parents to collect students "immediately".</p>

<p>"Urgent message: school is called off today and the buses will be returning shortly. Please arrange to be at the bus stops to collect the children shortly. Walker /Van user parents are requested to collect the students from the school&nbsp;immediately," said the school in a message to students, as seen by <em>WION</em>.</p>

<p>Speaking to the press,&nbsp;Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena said the police have traced the origin of the hoax bomb emails sent to nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).</p>

<p>Saxena who&nbsp;had gone to DAV School in north Delhi's Model Town, said, "The Delhi Police have traced the origin of the emails. I am assuring citizens of Delhi that the police are alert, getting leads, and will take strict action." However, he did not disclose any further information.</p>

<p><em><strong>12:20 pm:&nbsp;</strong></em>As per an NDTV report citing sources, the&nbsp;email was sent using a virtual private network (VPN) that routed and rerouted data via foreign servers. The police have managed to narrow down the internet protocol (IP) address after retracing the VPN traffic and have found the source of the email&nbsp;it added.</p>

<p>Reports suggest that the emails are&nbsp;suspected to have been&nbsp;sent from Russia and were aimed at creating panic. However, the authorities are yet to reveal the source of the email bomb threats.</p>

<p>However, searches have yielded nothing, and in a statement,&nbsp;Noida Police Commissioner&nbsp;Laxmi Singh said, "In the investigation till now, the case has been found to be fake, parents and school administration are requested to please not pay attention to the rumours."</p>

<p>"He presented himself as a pilot of an airline to CISF personnel. He displayed an ID card hanging from his neck. The staff noticed something wrong and, upon interception, was identified as Sangeet Singh, of Noida," said DGP Rangnani.</p>

<p>"Investigations revealed that he had forged the ID&nbsp;using some online application and purchased the uniform accessories from Dwarka, New Delhi," added the DCP.</p>

‘Catch Me If You Can’: Police arrest UP man posing as Singapore Airlines pilot from Delhi IGI airport

<p>India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday (Apr 15) expressed concern over the rise in the deaths of Indian students overseas.</p>

<p>He said that even though such cases were unconnected, as many of the students were killed due to personal reasons and many died in accidents, they were still a matter of huge concern for the government.</p>

<p>Jaishankar on being questioned about the rise in the number of Indian students being targeted in attacks in foreign countries, said, “Obviously, in every case, wherever anything unfortunate has happened to the students, it is of great tragedy for the family, and a big concern for us but...our embassy or consulate has looked at every case and they're actually unconnected."</p>

<p>He then said that embassies have been directed to stay in touch with the students and also provide information to them about the cities and the areas that they should avoid travelling to.</p>

<p>He added that there are 11 lakh to 12 lakh Indian students living in various countries.</p>

<p>“Student welfare is very important. Like I said, every Indian going out, you have Modi's guarantee. Student welfare is particularly important for us,” Jaishankar said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Vancouver Police released a statement on Sunday saying that 24-year-old Chirag Antil was found dead inside a car after neighbours in the area reported hearing gunshots. The incident took place on Friday (Apr 12), said the police.</p>

<p>"Officers were called to East 55th Avenue and Main Street around 11 pm on April 12 after residents heard the sound of gunshots. Chirag Antil, 24, was found deceased inside a vehicle in the area. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing," said the police.&nbsp;</p>

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday (Apr 15) expressed concern over the rise in the deaths of Indian students overseas. He said that even though such cases were unconnected, as many of the students were killed due to personal reasons and many died in accidents, they were still a matter of huge concern for the government. Jaishankar on being questioned about the rise in the number of Indian students being targeted in attacks in foreign countries, said, “Obviously, in every case, wherever anything unfortunate has happened to the students, it is of great tragedy for the family, and a big concern for us but...our embassy or consulate has looked at every case and they're actually unconnected." He then said that embassies have been directed to stay in touch with the students and also provide information to them about the cities and the areas that they should avoid travelling to. He added that there are 11 lakh to 12 lakh Indian students living in various countries. “Student welfare is very important. Like I said, every Indian going out, you have Modi's guarantee. Student welfare is particularly important for us,” Jaishankar said. The Vancouver Police released a statement on Sunday saying that 24-year-old Chirag Antil was found dead inside a car after neighbours in the area reported hearing gunshots. The incident took place on Friday (Apr 12), said the police. "Officers were called to East 55th Avenue and Main Street around 11 pm on April 12 after residents heard the sound of gunshots. Chirag Antil, 24, was found deceased inside a vehicle in the area. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing," said the police. (With inputs from agencies)
