The dead body of an Indian-origin 24-year-old woman, identified as Harshita Brella, was found in the trunk of a car in east London after the police were informed that she had gone missing in Corby, Northamptonshire.

On Saturday (Nov.&nbsp;16), the police launched an inquiry into the murder of the woman.&nbsp;

According to the police, they received a call on Wednesday (Nov. 13) asking about the well-being of Harshita, after which officers were sent to her home.

However, when the police did not get any answer, they launched an investigation for the missing person and later found the body of the victim inside the boot of a car on Brisbane Road in the Ilford area of London on Thursday (Nov.&nbsp;14).

The body's post-mortem was conducted at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Friday (Nov. 15).&nbsp;

Senior Investigating Officer from the East Midlands Special Operations Major Crime Unit (EMSOU), Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell said, "First of all, I want to express my heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved Harshita Brella."

"She was a young woman in her early 20s with her whole life ahead of her and it is absolutely tragic that her life has been cut short in this way. Detectives from EMSOU and Northamptonshire Police are working around the clock to establish the circumstances behind her death, including the exact location and timeframe in which it took place," he added.

According to the investigators, Harshita was killed in a "targeted incident".&nbsp;

"Although we believe Harshita was attacked by someone known to her, we are keeping an open mind, and would appeal to anyone who knew her to contact us with any relevant information they may have," said Campbell.

"If you saw anything suspicious in the past week or have any information, no matter how small, please contact us. We would always rather receive well-meaning information that turns out to be nothing as opposed to not receiving it all," he added.

After the duo went missing, the rescue teams launched a mission in the area between the Blackhead Peak and the spot where Moore's car was parked.&nbsp;

A hunter found Moore's body on October 30, Sky News reported.&nbsp;

Moore's loyal dog Finney was found by his dead body. She had lost half her body weight and is expected to have survived by hunting small animals such as mice while avoiding predators such as mountain lions, coyotes and bears, according to Delinda VanneBrightyn from Taos Search and Rescue team.

"If that dog could talk it would be an amazing story," she said. "We probably could not even believe the story the dog would tell."

A couple's Caribbean holiday turned into a nightmare when they found a dead body at their hotel and saw people having sex in a pool. Alan and Sarah Stevens, who hail&nbsp;from Hull, went to the Dominican Republic in June. 
 
Stevens said their stay at a hotel, worth £2,800 ($3569) became a "nightmare" and he felt "let down" by the offer of £200 ($254) as compensation by the holiday operator. 
 
The travel agency which arranged the trip accepted that its "usually high standards were not met". 
 
When Stevens and his wife Sarah first reached the hotel, they found the room comfortable and the food was also "quite nice", reported BBC.

"The pool had to be emptied twice a day because the water was so murky. People were chucking their drugs in the pool and there was absolutely no security. When doing our research, no holiday provider described it as a 'party hotel' - but it was,” he said while speaking to the BBC. 
 
"It turned into a 100% car crash holiday,” Stevens added. He said that when he tried discussing the issues with the hotel manager, he replied, "People die every day."

<h2>Bearing the holiday</h2>

"We weren't taken seriously and weren't even taken to a private area to talk about our complaints. TUI offered to move us to another hotel but we had heard from other guests that it was just as bad," Stevens said. 
 
The couple had to spend their 17-day holiday by a "quieter" pool with other guests, who are older in age, however, they did not enjoy the "Dominican vibe" and just had to "grin and bear it".

We feel so let down and my wife, whose birthday treat it was, is really saddened by TUI's response. After we turned down the offer, we haven't heard anything,” he said.

“Taking matters into her own hands, Senali Sen administered approximately 20 sleeping tablets to her mother on Monday morning. After Biva Pal complained of stomach pain resulting from the ingestion of the pills, she was then strangled to death by her own daughter,” stated a senior official.

The dead body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, who died in 2019 at the age of 95, was exhumed “roughly four years later” so that it can be shifted to its final resting place which was in the monastery chapel, reported the Catholic News Agency. 
 
When the authorities unearthed the coffin, they found the body of Lancaster apparently “incorrupt”, which is referred to as the body's preservation from normal decay in the Catholic tradition. The remains did not decay even though the body was not embalmed and kept in a wooden coffin, according to the news outlet. 
 
The discovery captured the attention of some members of the church and prompted an investigation. The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph issued a statement about the discovery.

“The condition of the remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster has understandably generated widespread interest and raised important questions,” stated the diocese. 
 
“At the same time, it is important to protect the integrity of the mortal remains of Sister Wilhelmina to allow for a thorough investigation… Bishop (James) Johnston invites all the Faithful to continue praying during this time of investigation for God’s will,” he added. 
 
The statement issued by the diocese noted that “incorruptibility” is very rare, and a “well-established process to pursue the cause for sainthood,” however, the process has not started in Lancaster’s case.&nbsp;

<h2>Dead bodies remaining well-preserved not very uncommon, says experts</h2>

The Catholic News Agency reported that the authorities have canonised 100 incorruptible bodies after their bodies defied the natural process of decaying. However, experts claimed that it is not very uncommon for dead bodies to remain well-preserved, especially in the initial years after death. 
 
Speaking to CNN, Western Carolina University Associate Professor and Director of Forensic Anthropology Nicholas V Passalacqua said, “It’s hard to say how common this is, because bodies are rarely exhumed after burial. But there are many famous cases of well-preserved human remains. Not just things like Egyptian mummies which were intentionally preserved, but also things like the Bog Bodies of Europe which were very well preserved for thousands of years because they were in environments with low oxygen that restricted bacterial grown and access of the remains to scavengers.”

Passalacqua further noted, “In general, when we bury a body at our human decomposition facility, we expect it will take 5 years for the body to become skeletonised. That is without a coffin or any other container or wrapping surrounding the remains. So for this body, which was buried in a coffin, I personally don’t find it too surprising that the remains are relatively well preserved after four years.” 
 
Till May 29, the body will be laid out in the sisters’ chapel when the sisters plan a rosary procession. After the procession, the body of Sister Wilhelmina will be encased in glass near the altar of St. Joseph in the chapel.

For the next three decades, investigators continued to make efforts to identify the woman, but in vain. However, last week, a major breakthrough was achieved by the sheriff’s office in the case.

“It is with a tempered heart that I announce we have identified a young woman found 27 years ago who was murdered in our county. Her name is Amanda,” announced Patrick Withrow, the San Joaquin county sheriff.

The sheriff’s office partnered with a Texas-based company, Othram Forensics, to build a DNA profile and the forensic genetic genealogy was used to come up with leads, after which the remains were finally identified as those of Amanda Lynn Schumann Deza.

The dead woman, Deza, was a mother of three who had disappeared at the age of 29, as stated by the investigators. In 1994, she was last spotted with a man she had met at a rehab facility in Napa, which is 80 miles away from where the recyclers had found the remains eventually.

The authorities stated that nobody had filed a missing person report for Deza, who they stated was facing “challenging times” before she died.

In April last year, when India was battling the deadly second wave of Covid-19, photos of bodies strewn across the river bed of Ganga in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh became the symbol of the country's "underreporting" of coronavirus casualties.

Several media reports, including foreign news outlets, all alleged that the bodies were "dumped" as the cremetoria and graveyards were overwhelmed with corpses, and hence the kin&nbsp;decided to "abandon" them on the sand of river banks.

The open burial of bodies near the Ganga's banks was apparently not investigated by the international media, who instead opted to relate it to the covid&nbsp;deaths.&nbsp;

Another local resident present on the ghat said that the bodies will ultimately go into the Ganga river."In summers, the width of the Ganga gets reduced. When the water level will rise, the bodies will get absorbed in the Ganga`s flow and as per beliefs this helps to attain moksha. Burying the bodies in sand is simple and economical. Therefore, people from several districts come here to bury the bodies keeping aside the traditional rituals," he said.

The limits enforced on burying dead remains on the ghats appear to have had no effect, as people continue to go to the ghats. Meanwhile, Prayagraj Municipal Commissioner Ravi Ranjan announced that an electric crematorium will be constructed at the ghat in the near future.

"It was Friday night when his mother cooked chicken and poisoned it to make him unconscious, but did not eat that and went to his room and slept, so we put the food in the refrigerator. He woke up the next day and ate that," the father said in the court.

The couple waited for his son to pass out and around 5 pm "tied up his feet to a chair and then put a black plastic bag on his head and then stabbed him several times". Later, they cut his body into pieces, packed it into three suitcases, and disposed them off in different parts of the city.

The elderly couple also confessed to killing their daughter and son-in-law in a similar fashion, a few years ago. They claim to have murdered their daughter as she was allegedly addicted to drugs, and their son-in-law because he had turned out to be abusive.

They also admitted that they murdered their film-maker son simply because he was having relationships with his students, as he was single, and that was not okay with the parents.

There has been no sign of remorse or regret from the elderly couple. Khorramdin’s father, during the court hearing, said, "I don't regret what I did with the cooperation of my wife. They were corrupted and I thank God".

This case has shocked the country and has raised concerns about the leniency of law for the parents who murder their own children in Iran.

No regret: Iran couple admits to dismembering son and daughter

In some parts of China, there is a ban on burials but people want to bury their dead. So, some minds have come up with a way through this, but it ended up taking someone else’s life.

A family in the Shanwei city in Guangdong province hired a man to provide them with a substitute body to be cremated in place of their family member.

The customers assumed the hired man would look for another dead body. Little did they know, he would murder someone.

When the contract was given to this man to find a dead body, he spotted a man with Down’s syndrome picking up litter in the street and asked him to get into his car.

Known as Huang, the man then gave the victim alcohol till he passed out. He was then put into a coffin and was sold to the client family for nearly $16,300.

The family that unknowingly paid for this murder buried their relative in the traditional way and cremated the body of the victim.

Bangladesh's police today recovered the bloodstained body of a prominent Hindu lawyer who went missing on Friday and arrested four persons, including his wife, suspecting their link to the murder.

Ratish Chandra Bhowmik, who fought the state's case in high-profile murder trials against Islamist extremists, went missing after he left his home in northwestern Rangpur district on Friday morning.

When the 58-year-old lawyer did not return home and his mobile phone was found switched off, his family reported about his disappearance to police and the Hindu community leaders.

"Their confessional statements led us to the dead body from an under construction building near Bhowmik's own house," said Benazir Ahmed, Director General of police anti-crime Rapid Action Battalion.

He added that the lawyer's wife, a school teacher, and one of her arrested colleagues were directly involved in the murder pointing figure to their extramarital relations.

Police earlier launched a massive campaign amid huge protests to trace out Bhowmik suspecting militant links to his disappearance on early Friday as he fought major murder trials against them as a key prosecution lawyer.

Police said the mobile phone records gave them the clue to the murder leading to his wife's arrest.

Bhowmik's disappearance came two weeks after seven operatives of outlawed Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were sentenced to death for murdering the caretaker of a Sufi shrine in November 2015.

Earlier, he appeared as a key prosecutor against five JMB extremists, who too were sentenced to death for the murder of Japanese farmer Hoshi Kunio in the same year.

Bhowmik was also a crucial witness to the trial of senior Jamaate-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam who was eventually sentenced to death by a special tribunal for committing crimes against humanity siding with the Pakistani troops during Bangladesh's 1971 Liberation War.

According to the police, Bhowmik had earlier refused the offer of an armed escort during the high-profile trials.
