Responding to a Gauhati high court query in October, the Assam Government committed to framing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Elated over the initial trends&nbsp;of Assam poll results, which showed that the BJP has an edge over its rivals, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday exuded confidence that the saffron party-led alliance will retain power in the state.&nbsp;

The ruling BJP-led NDA is surging ahead of the Grand Alliance spearheaded by the Congress in Assam, leading in 77 of the 119 seats, trends available on the Election Commission website at 12.15 pm showed.&nbsp;

"People have blessed us. We can say for sure that the BJP will form government in Assam. We are coming back to power with our partners AGP and UPPL," Sonowal told reporters.&nbsp;

Asked if the ruling coalition will be able to bag 100 seats, as claimed by the saffron camp ahead of the polls, he said, "The trends are completely in&nbsp;favour&nbsp;of the BJP. The party will achieve its target. However, we will have to wait for the final results."&nbsp;

"The government has ordered a magisterial inquiry and compensation of Rs 10 lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for the injured," Kejriwal added.

Around 15 fire tenders were initially dispatched to the location after reports <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/smoke-inhalation-suffocation-major-reasons-behind-deaths-in-anaj-mandi-fire-lok-nayak-hospital-266916">of a fire</a>. They carried out search and rescue operations.

As the fire grew, 10-12 more tenders were sent to the location. As of now, the fire is completely dormant with people left inside.

Two NDRF teams are carrying out rescue operations and more teams of the Army, Navy, and coastguard have been directed to reach the affected areas of Yavatnal at the earliest.

Not only that, but the rescue officials have also been given two helicopters for carrying out relief and rescue operations.&nbsp;

So far, 1500 families have been evacuated from Yavatbnal and the administration is continuously monitoring the situation.

Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Thursday defended her decision to enforce the helmet rule in Puducherry, saying that Chief Minister V Narayanasamy’s wife died in a two-wheeler accident, but he is now calling her autocratic for telling people to wear a helmet.“His wife died in a road accident because she wasn’t wearing a helmet while riding a scooter.

That was a few years ago. It is tragic... If I go on the road and I tell people to wear a helmet, he says it’s autocratic,” Bedi said while talking to the media here.

Criticising the agitation being led by Narayanasamy, she said that the Chief Minister should have waited for her reply after writing a letter on several issues.“He (CM) wrote a letter to me on February 7 on 36 issues, some of which don`t exist or have been settled.

I received it on February 8. Yesterday, he sits on a dharna saying he demands a reply. The letter didn`t say that if you don`t reply by February 13, I will sit on a dharna,” Bedi said.

The L-G also said that she has already invited the Chief Minister for a discussion on the issues.“I wrote to him (Puducherry CM) a letter that `you are welcome to come and see me on February 21 at 10 am, as I am on a tour till February 20 starting today. I will return on February 20 midnight. And tell me what could be more right.&nbsp;

Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Thursday defended her decision to enforce the helmet rule in Puducherry, saying that Chief Minister V Narayanasamy’s wife died in a two-wheeler accident, but he is now calling her autocratic for telling people to wear a helmet.“His wife died in a road accident because she wasn’t wearing a helmet while riding a scooter. That was a few years ago. It is tragic... If I go on the road and I tell people to wear a helmet, he says it’s autocratic,” Bedi said while talking to the media here. Criticising the agitation being led by Narayanasamy, she said that the Chief Minister should have waited for her reply after writing a letter on several issues.“He (CM) wrote a letter to me on February 7 on 36 issues, some of which don`t exist or have been settled. I received it on February 8. Yesterday, he sits on a dharna saying he demands a reply. The letter didn`t say that if you don`t reply by February 13, I will sit on a dharna,” Bedi said. The L-G also said that she has already invited the Chief Minister for a discussion on the issues.“I wrote to him (Puducherry CM) a letter that `you are welcome to come and see me on February 21 at 10 am, as I am on a tour till February 20 starting today. I will return on February 20 midnight. And tell me what could be more right. He is still sitting there. He isn`t allowing people to wear a helmet. One Puducherry citizen dies every third day. I have asked the police to enforce the decision. He is committing contempt of court and I am only carrying out my duty,” Bedi said. Bedi has been at loggerheads with the Puducherry government on various issues with Narayanasamy accusing her of delaying clearance to welfare schemes and bypassing the elected government. Since Wednesday evening, the Puducherry Chief Minister is sitting on protest in front of Raj Nivas and is demanding that the central government should recall the Governor.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal for amendments made in Rules-12 and Rule-17 of the Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010.

The decision was taken in the State Cabinet's meeting held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Gehlot.

According to the existing provisions for state services, one can now have access to the benefit of age exemption in the Rajasthan judicial services with amendments made in the existing rules.

As per the Rajasthan Judicial Service (Amendment) Rule 2018, the minimum age limit for general category in Rajasthan judicial service has been reduced from 23 to 21 years and maximum age limit is increased from 35 to 40 years.

Similarly, the benefit of age exemption has been given to differently-abled persons of various classes, including general category, OBC and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by 10, 13 and 15 years, respectively.

Simultaneously, it has been decided to give 1 per cent reservation to the Backward Classes in the Rajasthan Judicial Service.
