"This is a full-circle moment both for the show and audiences at home who have been tuning in for over two decades. Welcome home, Carrie."<br />

The singer had won the fourth season of the popular singing competition show in 2005.<br />

"I went from nobody knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show," she said in a video revealing her new job. "I’m proud of everything I was able to accomplish on the show, and I’m so proud of everything I’ve accomplished since."<br />

Auditions for the new season will begin on August 12.<br />

<p>In a statement, Carrie said, "I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album and it’s been a long time coming. I knew this would be my next music project after wrapping my tour last year, and I think it’s turned out to be the perfect time for an album like this, in this period of such personal and spiritual reflection. &nbsp;For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters."</p>

<p>In a letter to her fan club members, Carrie expresses concern over her &quot;looks&quot;&nbsp;and writes, &quot;I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Two days after hosting the 2017 CMA Awards in November, a representative of the singer confirmed that she took a &quot;hard fall&quot; on steps outside her home. &nbsp;She received multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions.</p>

<p><em>&quot;Most of you know that I tripped and fell and broke my wrist in November. I&#39;m still doing regular physical therapy for that, but all is coming along. There is also another part of the story that I haven&#39;t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. It&#39;s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.</em></p>

I&#39;ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [my husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in. Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I&#39;ve had the best people helping me, I&#39;m still healing and not quite looking the same.</em></p>
