A five-year-old boy, who had tragically fallen in a 150-feet-deep borewell in Dausa city of the Indian state of Rajasthan, was finally brought out after a gruelling 55-hour-long operation, as per the officials.

However, soon after getting rescued, the officials rushed the boy to a nearby hospital in an unconscious state where the doctors declared him dead. “The boy has been taken out and rushed to hospital," said an official to the media, while speaking about the operation.&nbsp;

The child, who was identified as Aryan, fell into the borewell when he was playing in a field located in Kalikhad village on Monday (Dec 9).

An hour after the boy fell into the borewell, the rescue operation was initiated by the authorities.&nbsp;

With the help of drilling machines, the officials dug a parallel pit for reaching to the level where the child had fallen.

According to the NDRF personnel, who were carrying out the operation, various challenges were coming up in the operation which included the water level which they had estimated to be nearly 160 feet.&nbsp;

They said that they were even facing trouble in capturing the movements of the boy on camera because of steam underground.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Relief (SDRF) personnel were working together to rescue Aryan.&nbsp;

They were constantly supplying oxygen to the boy through a pipe. The rescue teams also were watching the movements of the boy through the camera which was inserted into the borewell.&nbsp;

The XCMG 180 piling rig machine was also used on Tuesday (Dec 10) for digging a 150-foot deep tunnel close to the borewell to rescue the child.

"The challenge is that we can go up to 150 feet and not beyond that. NDRF rescuers will go down with protective equipment to rescue the child," said NDRF commandant Yogesh Kumar when the operation was going on.

Kumar added that a huge crowd had gathered to see the rescue operation as the team&nbsp;tried to rescue the minor at the earliest.&nbsp;

When the digging proved futile, a rope was tied around the child in the borewell to pull him out.&nbsp;

The State Disaster Emergency Response Force, National Disaster Response, and local administration worked together to rescue the boy from the borewell. They provided oxygen into the 70-foot-deep borewell and dug parallel pits to reach him.

“As soon as we received information, the station in charge and SDM reached the spot…All senior officials are present on the spot and rescue work is going on. Two JCBs, a team of cameramen, and an SDRF team are carrying out the rescue. An NDRF team was also dispatched from Varanasi,” Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Sonkar told reporters.&nbsp;

The police tried using a CCTV camera to check on the boy, but they couldn't reach him because of an obstruction. Rewa collector Pratibha Pal shared a video on X, showing officials using the camera to locate the boy.

Pal stated that the child was found on Sunday after a 40-hour rescue operation.

"The boy was located at around 8 am. We made all efforts but could not save the child as the borewell was too narrow," she told reporters.

Earlier this month, in an unrelated incident, a two-year-old boy was safely rescued after falling into a borewell in Lachayan village of Indi taluk in Karnataka's Vijayapura.

As the rescue operation went on, Ravinder Singh, Station Officer, Rani Jhansi Road, told reporters that "…The person could not have fallen into the borewell on his own…"

Megastar Rajinikanth mourned the death of two-year-old Sujith Wilson, who was found dead in a bore well in Nadukattupatti, Tiruchirappalli on Tuesday morning. 
 
Extending condolences to the slain boy`s family, the actor tweeted: "It pains me to hear the tragic demise of Sujith. Let his soul rest in peace. My condolences to his family."

The body of the minor was discovered in a borewell in the wee hours of Tuesday by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). 
Sujith`s body was found in a highly decomposed state as explained by the Principal Secretary of Transport Department J Radhakrishnan earlier. 
 
"Sujith is now in a decomposed state. All efforts were put in to bring the child alive but now, in an unfortunate turn of events, bad smell has started to come from the borewell in which the child had fallen," Radhakrishnan had told media persons while quoting doctors. 
 
Government officials and rescue workers were working continuously for the last 80 plus hours to retrieve the child. On October 25, Sujith fell into the borewell while playing near his house at about 5:30 pm in Tiruchirappalli.

Later, he slipped further down into the borewell, with an official stating that Wilson was stuck at a depth of 88 feet. More than six crews from the NDRF, as well as the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), were deployed to rescue the two-year-old. 
 
Tamil Nadu Ministers like Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was personally monitoring the rescue operations and had met the family of the infant on Monday. 
 
As per the district collector`s order, the borewell has been filled and sealed with cement lid later in the day to avoid any similar incident in the future.&nbsp;

Government officials and rescue workers had been working continuously for the last 80 plus hours to retrieve the child. However, now the digging process has been stopped at a depth of 65 feet of the borewell.

As per the officials present at the site, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), doctors and special teams are working near the borewell and a complete report will be given.

On October 25, the toddler&nbsp;fell into the borewell while playing near his house at about 5:30 pm here in Trichy.

Later, he slipped further down into the borewell.

More than six crews from the NDRF, as well as the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), have been deployed to rescue Wilson.

A medical team was also providing oxygen to the boy.

The borewell drilling equipment had dug 3 holes of 6 inches diameter unto a depth of 65-feet and a rig was being used to enlarge the pit, to enable rescue personnel to enter the pit and reach the boy after digging a horizontal tunnel.

Three ministers and several senior government officials had been present over the weekend at the site to supervise the rescue efforts that were being conducted by NDRF, SDRF personnel along with over 200 policemen and firemen.

However, rescue efforts were called off during the early hours of Tuesday after a foul stench emanated, suggesting that the child had died. “All the efforts to bring the child back alive had been done, but now in an unfortunate turn of events, a decomposed smell has started to come from the bore well in which the child had fallen.”

Tami Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, DMK President MK Stalin and several other personalities from across fields condoled the death of Sujith.

DMK President MK Stalin visited the bereaved family, expressed his condolences and offered a solatium of Rs10 lakh.

Stalin emphasized that the government could have done better and taken more measures to save the child. “It took over 80 hours to rescue the child, but the government could have done better had they not been careless. They could have saved him when he was at 36 feet and shouldn’t have let him slip to 88 feet. I doubt if the ministers and officials were as committed to the rescue as much as in giving interviews to the media” He questioned the government on why the Army was not called, adding that he was not saying this to criticize the government.&nbsp;

Later in the evening, Chief Minister Edapppadi K Palaniswami visited the aggrieved household and offered his condolences to the family and announced a solatium of Rs.10lakhs on behalf of the State government and 10lakhs on behalf of the party.&nbsp;

Speaking to the media he said, “the government has undertaken maximum efforts to help the family, there were experts from NIT, ONGC, Anna University and also the private company L&amp;T. We want to help the people when they are facing any difficulty and we need the cooperation of the public. Unused wells must be sealed with the necessary technical specifications.”

In a statement, the Chief Minister referred to the rules about the sinking of bore wells and safety measures that were gazette in 2015.&nbsp;

The CM stated that he had ordered the District collectors to ensure that the rules were adhered to, and in cases of negligence he urged officials to take strict action on those that were found responsible.

“The Army engineers prepared the heavy equipment of dozers and JCB. With the assistance of civilian excavators, the engineers had already started digging to construct a connecting tunnel 60 feet deep to avoid any harm to the child," Indian Army said.

District Magistrate of Hisar Ashok Kumar Meena said an investigation will be conducted into the matter and legal action will be taken against the person who dug the borewell without taking permission from the department concerned.&nbsp;
