The young actor had since then kept a low profile but on Thursday announced his new film <em>Border 2</em>. Border 2: Varun Dhawan joins Sunny Deol's sequel, actor pens heartfelt note

<p>One of Bollywood's most iconic war films, <em>Border</em> is going to be back with a sequel. Actor Sunny Deol announced <em>Border 2</em> on Thursday as he shared the film's announcement with a video on social media. <em>Border 2</em> is a sequel to JP Dutta's 1997 film Border which was based on the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war<em>. Border </em>had released on June 13, 1997 and 27 years on, the makers have announced a sequel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, he says, "<em>27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai </em>(Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming)."</p>

<p>The announcement video describes Border 2 as "India's biggest war film." Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam's hit song <em>Sandese Aaate Hain</em> - which featured in the original film- plays in the background of the video.</p>

Border 2 is a sequel to JP Dutta's 1997 film Border which was based on the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Border had released on June 13, 1997 and 27 years on, the makers have announced a sequel. In the video, he says, "27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai (Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming)." The announcement video describes Border 2 as "India's biggest war film." Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam's hit song Sandese Aaate Hain - which featured in the original film- plays in the background of the video.
